Hi guys I am back with some updates on 4.5 months Firstly to answer MrJobi's question - i am 24. Sorry for the late reply,been really busy lately. So far i am happy with the work. First picture shows a really fine scar remaining which is only a thin red line now. Second pictures showthe right temple seperating the natural hair from the transplanted ones. Some good growth, but hoping for more density. Third picture shows my new hairline from the transplanted hair. On this side the hair is quite thick and dense, but i am hoping more hair will grow and the area gets more dense than it is now. Fourth picture of my 4.5 month upgrade shows my left side. The area is not as dense as the right side but hoping for more growth. Will keep everyone with updates later on. Cheers.

Hi Bill, i have been updating with everyone of my progress on the album section, but i havent done anything for about the last month or so because there has only been little growth, but the good news is that alot more new hair are coming through. Will keep everyone posted when i see more results. As for Goldstar , how u doing? Sorry i didnt make it clear for you. When i menat a ridge or bumpiness, i didnt relate it straight to the sutures. What i meant was that Dr Knudsen did a good job with the scar on the donor area and it is thin and not like those big hideous scars that you see patients with from bad HT doctors that leaves them them a big wide scar. That is what i meant. Sorry that i confused or scared you. Jojo

How are you guys? I had a HT with Dr Knudsen in Australia and i think he uses dissolving stitches on all his patients including me. I am now exactly 3 months post op and everyhting is fine. The scar healed up nicely and theres no ridge or bumpiness on the scar,just a red line now. For me, the stitches dissolved completely in about 3-4 weeks at the very most. I can actually feel the stitches because the scabs on the scar does not heal over the stitches and whey they dissolve they are usually attached to the scab when you wash them out. I should not have done this, but on a few occasions i picked at the scab after 2 weeks to remove them and the stitches were stuck to it. Luckily for me it healed up nicely, but i do not recommend people to be impatient and pick out the scabs even if you use dissolving stitches and you want to remove them. Just let them dissolve and come out itself with the scabs when you wash your head. Jojo

Hi everyone, Its been about 8-9 weeks now since surgery and have posted some photos to show some early results. If you look really closely it looks like there is some small strands growing now over the past week or so and very exciting. Everything has healed up nicely and the scar feels really good. Hi Everyone, just added a pic of the donor site. 2 weeks post op. It was so hard to take a good pic of it. Dr Knudsen told me that he uses the Tricho closure (sorry if i didnt get the name of the technique right) using self dissolving stitches. I think at 2 weeks the stitches are fully dissolved and i and happy with how thin the scar is. I think there is a small amount of shock loss in the small area under the scar. Its still has a bit of scab on it but it does not feel thick or lump or as if it has a ridge on it. Feels perfectly normal. I also want to thank Bill and a few other guys on this site for some post op care tips. Thanks Jojo

jfo, that is awesome news. Its always to good to see hair growing back naturally and no need for surgery. Along with B Spot i cant wait to see some photos. It just shows that technology and medication are getting better and better every year and sometime in the near future we may see (and hopefully) something that will help regrow more hair instead of HT as the only option. Thanks for sharing your story jfo and now i am thinking of using those medications when i lose more hair. Jojo

Bill thanks for the advice. Is it ok to use Emu oil? If it is, do i use only straight emu oil or emu oil moisturising cream? I cannot seem to find any aloe vera gel. All i could find at the shops are aloe vera and emu oil moisturisiing creams? Is it ok to use it on the donor and graft site?

Oh sorry i forgot to ask you guys about the donor area. All i am currently doing to the scar is soaking it with water in the shower and give it a gentle rub now and then. What should i really do, should i put some pressure into it and try to rub the scab off it in the shower? Also it is itchy as anything, so tempting to scratch it. Thanks guys

Hey jfo, what do you mean you can feel your scar? Do you mean you can there is like a lumpy or thick scar? If you do that means you have a pretty big scar. Have a look at all the patients pictures on this forum, their scar is like a thin as a pencil line and can be barely detected. I think a good scar is only like a red pencil line, which does not look thick or as if its like a lump. So if you can feel you scar with your fingers then maybe its a pretty bad scar.

I slowly rub off the skin and at the same time there are little hair coming off it at the same time. However when the hair sheds, theres a little white bulb attached to it. I assume thats all normal? Hey everyone i am now about 10 days post op and have started to gently message the graft area to get rid of the scabs. I didnt have alot of scabs to begin with, but whatever scabs i had on the graft site are slowing coming off as i wash it. However i am getting a lot of dry flaky skin in the areas of the graft. When i message it, the flaky skins start to peel off along with some of the shedding hair. However the flaky skin and little hair do not come off easy sometimes. My question is, is it ok to use your nails to softly scrap of the skin and not damage the grafts? Is it normal for the flaky dry skin to peel of with the shedding hair? Please help cause i am a bit nervous about all this. Jojo

I have just uploaded my one week post op photo. In this picture its much clearer and you can see the work of Dr Knudsen. The scabs are started to come off as well as some of those dry flaky skin. Great signs of improvement since the day of the HT. All the redness is gone and just a slight purple (ish) colour which i hope it disappears when the rest of the scabs come off. I am really happy with the hairline design as for the amount of grafts used. I dont think the hairline is too aggressive, what do you guys think? With my hair, one side has receded more than the other, so there is more grafts used on one side. Jojo

Hey Bill and Janna, I will definitely keep everyone posted. I am very nervous as well as i hope it all turns out good with great growth, but i was told by the nurses who was cutting my graft that i will achieve great density as i have a lot of 2's and 3's, which i was told was a very high amount. I have tried to upload better quality photos but i think the resolution was too high as the photos album only allows upto 500kb per picture, so i only have these photos i can upload. I will try to take more photos later on in my progress on lower resolution. Jojo

During the procedure all the nurses (all 6 of them) were very helpful and friendly and kept me entertained all the time. They were all very nice and helpful which must be mentioned. I am one week post op and things are looking good. No bleeding, swelling or pain at all. The scabs i think are starting to shed off and looks like the skins flakes in the recipient are are too. Dont know if thats normal. The scar is healing up nicely too. I try looking at the scar and it seems like the scab on it is only pencil line thin. I am very happy. The donor scar, i was told, was about 10cm long and only 1 cm wide. Which i healing up nicely and should be pencil line thin when it recovers. Dr Knudsen is very professional and he dosnt talk bullshit. He told me what was realistic and what could be achieved and did not make false promises. On the day of the procedure i was very nervous but when i sat there on the chair in the operating room i felt a bit better. The whole experience was great and i felt very safe in the hands of Dr Knudsen and hes qualified staff (yes they were all qualified nurses). Will keep everyone posted with results. Jojo
