  1. 4 month update:

Lots of growth over the last month. Looking great in favorable light — still bald in my temples in unfavorable light. Definitely not going to try growing it out any longer than this for another couple of months at least. Redness is also still hanging around which is unideal 😎.

Here is my 17 week/4 month update. Right side has come in pretty well and I’m already pretty happy with the appearance on the right but hope to get more hairs and for them to thicken up. Left side is a bit behind the right but I don’t think that is unusual and I’m thinking it will pick up soon. I am still getting red spots on both sides which I think is a good sign - hairs coming through! Overall, pretty happy with where I’m at for 4 months.

    I welcome any thoughts/comments.

It's very common for one side to lag (I'm currently experiencing the same). It's looking great so far.

Apologies for the poor image quality of the before donor area.

Thanks for your input. Correct me if I'm wrong but don't Fin and Min just slow down the rate of loss, rather than create new growth? Which would have had no effect on my receded hairline anyway.

Fin is a hormone blocker that primarily helps patients retain what they currently have (though I have seen many cases where people have regrown a substantial amount). Min is a stimulant that will decrease time between hair cycles and, in many cases, thicken/regrow hair. The goal is to ensure that you are halting recession in place so that you do not continue to recede behind the implanted hairs in the hairline.

You are starting from a great situation and have the ideal hair characteristics for a transplant but that doesn’t make you immune to continued balding. If I were you, I would really dive into the research and speak to my physician to put a preventative plan in place so I wouldn’t have to use more of my finite donor on the future.
