I just completed my first hair transplant procedure with Dr. Buchwach in Leawood, Kansas. The surgery went very smoothly and he and his staff were awesome. I was very hesitant given the lack of information online about his work but after speaking to a friend who got work done by him and a few additional prior patients I gave it a go. Doc was very thorough and I was his only patient today.
We began the morning by drawing out the hairline and discussing graft count. Then he handed me off to his very experienced harvester who utilized SmartGraft. After that, the doctor made all of the placement holes himself and then his very experienced tech’s groomed and placed the grafts.

I will continue updating this thread with progress pics. Is there any standard protocol for update frequency?

Quoted based on buzzed (he asked to see at least 7 to 10 days but I didn't want to grow it out that long). I've been growing it out the last few weeks priori to the procedure, though @BaldV (he wouldn't do the procedure otherwise). I agree that he is more old school and doesn't have much online @JD34. He flies his graft removal guy in who was one of the first that was trained on the SmartGraft machine and teaches the technique across the world. All of his other techs are local. I'm going through with the procedure and will document it all on this thread. He also said that he doesn't "just do the hairline". He will build out that sketched hairline and go 4in back. Here's an updated photo of my hair:

Unless you can see actual patient posted journeys with pictures then you should be careful. Any Google review can be faked, and they mostly are. Take a look at any clinic and you will find the same, 5* saying the same stuff, mostly from 1 post reviewers.
Many of these are 5+ posts. An acquaintance of mine got one from him and it looks solid. I’m still skeptical, though. May just risk it and post my journey for everyone. I also reached out to a few reviewers on LinkedIn. Seems weird that word of mouth is so good but I can’t get enough online to feel good.

@JD34Where is the reasoning for him not being on the recommended list here? I found a few people on Reddit who worked with him and had good results. Also, many of the Google review profiles seem more than legit. I'm still confused but wanting to make sure that I am making the right choice.

Any updates here? I have a few friends that went to him and had great results. I also met a few people on Reddit that did as well.
Here are some result photos from a Reddit user that went to Buchwach:

How were your results with doctor Buchwach?
Also intrigued to hear about this. I’m scheduled for a 2000 graft FUE procedure on Monday and having some stage fright!

@JD34Why wouldn’t you go to Buchwach?
Concerned about density on hairline and temples.

Hey friends,
I recently got 2350 FUE grafts and am a bit concerned about the density. What’re y’all’s thoughts? We put a ton of grafts over my frontal forelock where I had solid native density. I’ve seen people getting up to 2800 just in the hairline so I’m a bit concerned that I am going to end up with super thin results.
