It is possible to overdose on any vitamin that is fat soluble and Vitamin E is fat soluble (along with Vitamins A, D and K). This is because cell membranes are lipophillic ("fat loving") and so they get into the cells at ease. You cannot overdose on water soluble vitamins because if you take too much you can just pee them out. So you can overdose on Vit. E but I have no idea on how many IUs it would take.

You got a nice head of hair man..you wouldn't need very many grafts to obtain a good hairline. Does your family have a history of hairloss?

Hah yeah it's definitely not just a pinch....I thought that whenever they injected the saline into my donor area to raise it up so they could cut it was by far the worst part.

Yeah I agree with mmhce....I think maybe your definition of "boils" may be pimples which is normal..Whatever you do though, do not go out in the sun and get the recipient area sunburned!! I was advised to wear a hat or bandana for up to 3 months post op to shield that area from the sun. As far as the hairs falling out that all sounds pretty normal..a bunch of mine that have shed also have those black "kinks" at the end that looks sort of bent...all that is normal. Bananas, how tight is that hat you've been wearing? Also do you have a pic that you can post of that area? As far as sex goes, I believe it falls into the category of "cardio" so whenever your doc said you can start up with cardio again I would wait until that point. Now I've asked the question on here about whether or not a sharp increase in blood pressure in the head early on post op could cause grafts to "pop" out or not and no one could really give a straight answer. I can't really imagine grafts could pop out this way with today's techniques but just be mindful of it. However with this said, you said your surgery was about a week ago so the BP deal is probably a non-issue at this point (my doc said I can start cardio up a week after my procedure). Just don't get too wild and crazy and bump your head on something while "bumpin uglies" lol.

Hey guys, is it normal for my donor scar to be slightly oozing pus in a couple places (not much though) at 5 weeks post op? In general the scar looks pretty good...it's pretty small, just a little red and pus in some places. Could this be an infection or is it just the healing process at this stage? Thanks!

Hey flower, you still have several more months of growth ahead of you so I wouldn't start to worry just yet. But I agree with the emperor with the skull cap issue. Just like pulling your hair back into a ponytail too tight can cause some recession in women in the front and sides, I think that wearing one of those possibly could have the same effect if you wear it all the time just because they're so tight. I know women can't really wear hats near as much as guys to hide their hairloss but you could go with a bandana maybe. Hope this helps!

Hey man, even though your hair loss seems quite extensive and I can't tell how coarse/thick your hair is, some HT surgeons can and do work almost "miracles" in patients like yourself. The moderator of this forum Bill had roughly your amount of hairloss before he started on his HT journey. He has now had 4 HTs and his hair looks really good especially from where he started to where he is now. You can click on his hairloss weblog and check it out. HT's are definitey a legit thing if you chose the right doc and any doc recommended on here are good choices. Good luck man and we're all here to help!

I agree with thana....and also if you aren't on Propecia you definitely should start on it as it seems like you are starting to lose some hair in your crown and Propecia will help you out there.

So I've noticed that the donor scar on the back left of my head from about the occipital lobe to the top of my left ear feels kind of raised. The scar on the right side feels normal. I was wondering if this is normal and will go down eventually or if it should be a cause for concern? Anyone else experienced this? I'm currently at only 5 weeks post op.

I would wait a little longer man. Unless that profile pic you posted is deceptive in regards to the hairline (because I can't really tell how bad your hairline is receding) then I think you should definitely wait longer and just start on Propecia if you aren't already. However, your hair looks very thick so if you did decide to get an HT I don't think you would need very many grafts at all as density and hair diameter can sometimes lower the number of grafts needed. From that one pic you showed 2500 grafts seems like WAY too many.

This is a very interesting find. Even though a lot of these reports turn out to be bogus they still give us all hope! I hope there is something to this one cuz this would be an extremely simple product to add to anyone's regimen. I might start takin Vit. E on a daily basis now anyways....what could it hurt??

I am about 5 weeks post op and I have noticed this too when I work out or sometimes when I touch the recipient area. It doesn't really hurt too bad but it's sort of a slight stinging sensation. I think this is all pretty normal and that it happens due to the increase in blood circulation to the scalp. I am under the impression that the scalp can stay tender for a while which makes sense due to the fact that it had so many holes poked in it! Hope this helps man and I'm anxious to see what everyone else thinks about it too.

As long as you are not taking anabolic steroids (i.e. muscle building steroids) your testosterone levels should not rise too far above normal and shouldn't have an affect on your hair. I would definitely run this by both your ortho doc and the doc doing your HT though to get their opinions.

No I don't have any symptoms of the sides and haven't for the 4 years I've been taking Propecia. I just stated thinking about it and was wondering if it is a possibility to not have any for years of use and then sorta out of the blue later down the line they just start.
