I made it to a year y’all!!! I’m quite satisfied with the results and yet hold an appreciation for what folks refer to as “hair greed”. I can see that one more procedure would fill out any thinner areas and it’s difficult to resist the temptation but I’ll give it another year before really considering it. Overall, I got exactly what I hoped for and exactly what Dr. Bansal promised. I’m so glad I made this decision! My life is forever changed and every time I run my hands through my hair (which is all the damn time now), I feel grateful to the team at Eugenix. Pictures are all with very wet hair fresh out of the shower (so no product). Im still taking finasteride but nothing else.

Here we are at 11 months! Like most, I wish I had a full head of hair with no thin areas but I realize that is the nature of this process. Also, like many folks, I’m considering a second procedure but not anytime soon. As I get closer to the one year mark, I’ve noticed that my hair is changing in texture and getting wavy again. Overall, I’m very happy with my results!

Made it to 8 months! The slight increase intensity has been a nice Christmas present. I’m still hoping the next four months will bring even more density. I know the crown takes a little bit longer to fill-in so I’m being extra patient. Still taking all of my meds and supplements. When I blow dry my hair and add a tiny bit of concealer, my hair looks mad thick!

Time for an update! I’ve made it to 7 months and I’ve noticed a fair amount of growth in the past two weeks. I think I expected this growth between months 5 and 6 but it’s so nice to see it coming in. Still on Finasteride. I’m so completely amazed and thrilled by these results. I know it’s the spirit of the season but I’m grateful to everyone here who made this seem possible enough to take the leap.

I’ve made it to the halfway point - 6 months! I’ve been pretty resolved through the ugly duckling phase but recently, the doubt monster has started to creep in. I’m left wondering if there will be any more growth. I’ve loved the amount of hair that I reached at 5 months but it seems like I’ve plateaued? I will say though, when I spray just a tiny amount of fibers in, my hair looks outstanding so I’m still quite happy already. my scalp has been itching more so that gives me hope it’s due to new growth poking through 🤞. I’m taking Fin, Biotin and Saw Palmetto. the pics are me just out of the shower with wet hair.

Just a quick update. I’ll post more later. I’m at 4.5 months and today I actually cried tears of joy! I am styling my hair in a way I never could even when I had peak native hair (it was just never this thick). This procedure has been one of the best decisions I’ve made and I now completely understand when people say “I wish I did this years ago!” I’m curious to see how much better it gets in the next 6-7 months

I’m at 3 months and seeing a lot of growth. I need to give myself another haircut on the sides but I like what the top is doing. Still on Fin 1mg, biotin and Saw Palmetto. Earlier this month, Dr. Sethi was in town for consultations and reached out to patients for a get together. It was fun to meet him and other folks I’ve connected with here on the forums!

Thanks! The Eugenix team did such a great job with extraction and implantation. Im usually the guy that has all the problems and doesn’t heal well or quickly but I attribute my quick recovery to the quality work of Eugenix/Dr. Bansal. I have my sights set on Thanksgiving-time (late November) here in the US for when I start evaluating progress. Now it’s just the boring middle for me!

Update time: it’s been 2 months post-op and the numbness is finally gone in the recipient area. The itching from the donor kicked up and then subsided in the past couple weeks. I haven’t had as much shedding as I expected or maybe I was expecting to be a a horrifying, patchy, bald mess. My recipient areas have a lot of graft growth still. This is especially true for my crown which has surprised me! Also, get a load of my donor area. It looks almost untouched!!! On a side note, I’ve been using a product given to me by Dr. Bansal for a dandruff condition I’ve had my whole life. I’ve tried EVERYTHING out there that I could get my hands on and this was the first time I’ve had any success. Dr. Bansal assured me this would work and I rolled my eyes because I’ve heard that same line so many times before. I would say 90% of the dandruff is gone and has stayed gone. I just want to express my gratitude for this extra bit of care that has made a huge difference in my scalp health! Here are some progress pics:

Oh yeah, you’re going to love what Toppik will do for you while the rest of your growth comes in! For where your growth is at now, I would advise using the spray applicator (I will attach a picture of the one to get, not the one advertised by Toppik). Fill up the canister with a few tablespoons (not much at all) and lightly compress the bulb as you spray. You will get an even distribution and a natural look. If you’re using the spray bottle, you won’t need the hairline comb (that is mostly for sprinkling right from the bottle around the hairline). I would say go very light at first and add layers as you get more confident. For your hair length, apply the Toppik to dry hair, use your hair product to style a little bit, then lock it in with hair spray. I don’t have any issue with sweat or rain (that stuff stays in when applied lightly). I just went swimming this weekend and it stayed on until I dried my head with a towel. The only hazard (oddly enough) is bumping or resting your head on something. The Toppik will smudge off leaving a mark where it touched and a gap on your scalp. Not great all around! I still think this stuff is magic but it certainly has its limitations. post or send me a pic. I’d love to see your reveal once it’s in! -

Toppik is great! I’ve experimented with a few different colors and found that dark brown works for me. Yours seems like a light brown. Your growth looks incredible for month four and from what I’ve seen in my research, the growth you’re experiencing is in line with other successful HTs. I really appreciate your honesty in your posts. I too felt confident until the shed. Even though I knew it was coming, I’m still debating if there really will be much of a difference. However, when I look at the post surgery picks and see just how many grafts were implanted, I feel reassured there will be a lot of hair by month 12. I just keep looking back at those pics when I feel doubtful or paranoid and it helps me. I really can’t wait to see your final results! -
We are on a similar trajectory my friend. I invested in some nice hats! I just keep repeating “the sooner it goes, the sooner it comes back!” Also, I have tried out some fibers and they do work well but you need an applicator.

I also found a way to sleep in many positions without my grafts making contact with anything. Even with the pillows propping me up at an angle, I could twist around and side-sleep sitting up for the first few days. The neck pillow Eugenix provides (which is excellent quality) allowed me to try most positions no problem. I lost more sleep due to jet lag than discomfort.

Thank you everyone for reassuring me and giving me such helpful information! I thought I would update everyone. I am at 21 days post surgery. Still no pain or discomfort and only minimal itching. My scalp is in the flakey stage and it seems like I’m entering the shed (I’m seeing some hairs left in my pillow in the morning). It’ll all be over soon, right? how is it all looking from your vantage point? Can I hope for good coverage?
