  1. The incisions I’m referring to are in the donor area. Then another specialist extracts from that area. yes dr Turan does the entire recipient area himself.
  2. Overall happy to read about my donor amount and am currently going through the ugly duckling phase just over 2 months post op. Let me know if you want photos for this phase. Trying to understand cm2 - what does this 145cm squared mean and is it a normal or typical number? For some reason I thought it seemed high compared to others; but perhaps I am misunderstanding? thanks
  3. I know it may have changed since my quote from early 2023, but for me it was 4500 euros for anything over 3500 grafts.
  4. Thanks guys, I’m happy to hear the feedback.
  5. If anyone has questions about more details regarding my entire experience, I am more than happy to elaborate.
  6. Hello, 31 year old. Been on finasteride for a year. Minoxidil for 10 years. Norwood 4/5 more like 5 After a couple of years of research on this forum and youtube, I decided on Dr Turan at FUE Capilar. 4163 grafts - frontal and mid-scalp. Planned second operation in a year from now. I am currently on day 13 post op. Will be posting updates. Would like to hear back from you all as to how you think the work is progressing - and as to how many further grafts might be necessitated in a years time for the crown/mid-scalp, or even in the frontal area where native hairs may yet fall out. I have a large head and a healthy medium coarseness donor area and will post the write up when the Doctor has completed the PDF. I have a cowlick on the front right side of my head. Communicated through WhatsApp. Was pretty straightforward. I arrived at Istanbul airport and my driver was very friendly and put me in the fancy Van with wifi. He spoke some English. About 45 mins drive to the hotel. The hotel is 2 or 5 mins to the hospital. The hotel is quiet. For some reason I had poor food quality at the hotel (bland, stale or flavourless) but amazing food quality at Dr. Turan’s office. The translator Ahmet (spelling could be incorrect) is very friendly and helpful. Answered all my questions. During operation he wasn’t around but if you ask for him he would pop in from the other room. Similar to what other posters have said. They show you a microscope video of your hairs which is pretty cool. They measure your face structure with this tool and then draw the proposed hair line. I agreed the first time. I could have asked for it drawn lower 1cm or .5cm I suppose but I thought I should go for density and if i have enough donor area in the future, perhaps that would substantiate a lower line. The translator at one point told me Dr Turan lowered the hairline on day 2 after I expressed my inquiry (I’m guessing a millimeter or two) after the initial implantation on the first day. (I was not adamant, was happy either way, but the Doctor seemed happy to oblige) By lowering it, he added multi grafts and then single grafts in the front. So the hairline implantation specifically = single, Multiple, then single again from back to front. At least - That’s my understanding from the translator. Is this typical? Surgery took two days. Day 1 morning = roughly 1000 grafts, afternoon = 1000 grafts and this repeated in day 2. Dr Turan has a specialist that seems to make the incisions and a separate specialist for the extraction. Dr Turan does all of the implanting to the recipient area. I was told he does 2 surgeries per day. The most painful part was the needles but it seemed fine after you have the Xanax. Basically slept during the operation both days. How do the temples area look to you? How does everything else look? I’m excited to see how part one op turns out in 6 to 12 months. I feel confident in Dr Turan thus far especially considering a few other results on this site. Photos reduced in pixel after uploading to the site but I hope these angles in various natural light/harsh light help.
  7. Dr Zarev uses two systems - including the one mentioned above. And everyone knows he's legendary. What I want to know is which system of Zarev is used for the monster sessions.
  8. Did Turan and Gur price go up? They were around 1$/graft
  9. Been on it for 10 years 1ml morning 1ml at night. Maybe it’s time for a Derma pen
  10. Roger that. Oral fin seems to have stabilized things but i'm definitely not getting "growth".
  11. She ( Dr Bicer) is great but I'd sooner go to Dr Turan in the same country since he is basically 1 euro per graft and he produces fantastic results as well. All preference though.
  12. How is it that some Doctors recommend no more than 4000 grafts done at a time in a hair transplant and then you have Pittella doing successful mega 12K grafts ? Are Pittella and Sethi just that great? Most doctors have to adhere to this graft survival rate, no? Hence 4k max (ususally)
  13. Hard to understand why HLC would want 6000 grafts now? Maybe based on your old photos?
  14. Can you mix topical dutasteride with oral finasteride? I know that generally you shouldn't mix both oral forms together. I've just upped my oral fin dose from 1mg every other day to 1mg every day. Don't know how helpful that change is given that I'm a norwood 4/5. But yeah, oral fin and topical dut, anyone done this or this a definite unsafe pursuit?
  15. One of the best results I've seen yet.
  16. Here are some angles with natural lighting in front of the sunshine on my deck.
  17. So .25mg to .5mg daily finasteride? Alright I’ll try that. I originally had dutasteride and fin at the same time and had some side effects. So I had been doing every other day for that reason. In my local area oral minoxidil has been a supply issue but that is the goal. For my case, would it be too challenging for doctors like Bicer, de freitas, bisanga etc and that I should be considering the aforementioned Pitella, Zarev in addition those like eugenix and so on?
  18. Understood. 3 to 4... This is going to be a long road ahead.
  19. First off, 30 years old. I’m sure this is MPB due to my mother’s side of the family being bald in 30s. finasteride .5mg every other day for one year. minoxidil topical 5% morning and night for 10 years. Only in last few months have I started applying to temple receding hairline to experiment. Not sure about any result yet. not sure if oral minoxidil is safe or worth it? how many grafts do I need? Keep in mind my forehead has gotten much larger with the receding so I’d like to shrink my forehead a bit is my donor area strong? Would I get more density with two separate surgeries? which doctor would be suitable for me? I’m Canadian and considering Bicer, FUECapilar, de Freitas. Is Bicer just as good at hairlines as bisanga or Freitas? FUECapilar seems much cheaper yet the reviews are still decent? any answers would be appreciated.
