  1. Haven't been on here in a very long time. Hope you are all keeping well. Thought I would upload a recent picture of me to compare. Almost three years now since surgery. Apologies for the poor quality it was taken with my phone
  2. I'm posting today some pictures of my hair loss journey with Dr Farjo. Its now just 2 weeks short of 12 months since I had my surgery, so I know I'm more or less near my final result. I therefore felt it appropriate to share it to the members on this site, as this domain and the people involved here have been an invaluable tool in my decision making and research. I am thrilled with the results so far and I owe a big load of gratitude to Drs Farjo, Mick and the whole staff. I was at a very low ebb after my initial unsuccessful surgery with another surgeon and their help and guidance has been wonderful. Pictures posted are pre-op, post op and 11 months and two weeks. Pictures at 11 months and two weeks were taken outside in very bright sunshine. All and any constructive comments are welcome
  3. Tom60 I'm now approximately 10 and half months, had my transplant 15th of October of last year and thanks for the compliment, really appreciate it. Mattj Yeah sure, I'm turning 28 in early October. I know lot of people probably don't believe it, but it really wasn't an issue when I was younger. As it recessed more though and it left an isolated forelock, it was more difficult for me to style and make more natural and hence I guess more comments about it.
  4. Hi Balody!! Sorry for the tardy reply, I have been away travelling for the last few months. Hope your keeping well!! And thanks RCWest for the kind words. Have to say I've been thrilled with the cosmetic change thats happened over the last few months. I've updated my patient website to show where I am now and all constructive comments are appreciated!!
  5. Yeah I'm perfectly fine, lucky enough damage was very minimalistic - small dents on his back bumper and my front one!!
  6. So it finally happened today.....to be honest I'm surprised it didn't happen sooner. After months of incessantly and consistently looking in the rear view mirror at my new hair while driving, the inevitable happened today......I crashed the car (drove it into the car in front of me!!)!!! Aaaarrrrggghh, moral of the story, be careful out there guys!!
  7. Well I can't speak personally for any of the doctors you've mentioned, but by all means they are all very fine doctors and whoever you chose will give you a result. What NW scale are you?? Judging only by results posted on here by the specific clinics I would favor Hasson and Wong followed very closely by Dr Feller if you are of a high Norwood scale. Also have you ever considered the farjos in Manchester?? I had repair surgery with them just under 8 months ago and everything about them is quality. Great ethics, great customer service and quality refined work that is a match to anywhere else in the world. And they'd be on your doorstep too, if you felt more comfortable about that aspect. Good luck in whoever you choose, your doing the right thing researching on here first
  8. I was just wondering if anybody could enlighten me what percentage growth should one expect at 6 and half months. I've researched this variously around this forum but there seems to be a lot of conflicting information regarding it.I know each specific case is different but there should be some general rule of thumb surely. Some say all growth would have come through by now and that you can only expect thickening and maturing from now on, others say 50 per cent, more say 70 per etc etc. In fact I have seen I think, Bill mention somewhere that growth can be expected up to 18 months. All very confusing!! In my own specific case bearing in mind the recipient area was on a previously failed transplant, I seemed to see a huge surge in growth around the 3 to 4 month mark. Intermittently I have seen a few hairs pop up in the following months. In fact I saw one come through the skin at the hairline two days ago!! But at this juncture should I only expect thickening and lengthening or maybe much more additional growth?? And also on a parallel theme, how much does thickening and maturing affect the final cosmetic appearance?? For instance when I exam my own transplant, I think I have great coverage with the newly transplanted hairs all over the recipient area, but some hair is still very fine and wispy and as a result I still look very thin/balding in areas. This is very evident in photographs and harsh lighting, though I feel I look much better than those would show!!
  9. I can definitely vouch for them as a top class clinic. As I've always maintained they are very ethical and very professional and although some people find them very conservative towards other coalition doctors here regarding session sizes and hairline I think there results that they have consistently posted here speak for themselves. I myself am nearly 6 months post op and I am indeed already making nice progress. Unfortunately before I found this forum and subsequently farjo's I naively plundered into a local hair clinic which was a complete disaster. Right from the surgery experience itself up to the doctors manners and behaviour post op, it left me very untrusting and skeptical especially towards physicians in the hair restoration community. Fortunately Farjo's have healed that divide now. Moral of the story, make sure you do your research and pick a doctor and team you are very comfortable with. Best of luck on your journey
  10. Also I would add that Dr Farjo's would be contained in that list. That may be bias on my part, but in my opinion there is no more ethical and professional company out there. Unfortunately I have had the utter regret of experiencing the exact opposite of this too, so please make your decision wisely.
  11. Donald, I would imagine it is because they are the only option when it comes hair transplantation in the UK. Quite frankly they have no competition worth noting there!! I myself was about a month and a half waiting for a consult and I think I only got it that quick because of a prior cancellation. I then had to wait a further 3 months before the surgery date Trust me, the time will fly by and personally I think its quite a positive thing as it allows you even more valuable time to think about it all and confirm that you are indeed making the right decision. I wish that had happened in my first hair transplant experience, instead I was fooled into a quick fix op soon after my initial consultation leading to an experience that I regret to this day Best of luck with everything and maybe talk to Mick, he might be able to fit you in some cancellation allotted time or something. He's a top class guy who tells it like it is.
  12. I too cannot speak highly enough of Dr Farjo. I'm a repair case and got my procedure done last October with him and the whole experience so far has been very positive and indeed I can already see early growth. A world of difference from my first experience where I rushed in, without doing any thorough research
  13. Thanks Mick for posting the photos, just like to reiterate my thanks for the overall positive experience I had. Also its very re-assuring to hear so many great comments from respected doctors and members of this site. Fills me with hope.
  14. Balboa, I can't speak for what my finished result will turn out as of yet as I'm only a few weeks post op, but everything else from consult to surgery was a very refreshing experience. I too went through the torment of a failed first transplant and this experience was a world of difference to that. They have integrity and care about their work and patient.
  15. Thanks Balody, I'm prepared for the wait, though I know it'll be hard.... Your right Mick it was a weight off my shoulder and a very slightly emotional experience after my previous disappointing experience.
  16. Thanks Longpig, I appreciate the sentiment Looking forward to seeing your updated pictures
  17. This is just a short note to express my appreciation to the Dr Farjo's and their team for what I consider to have been a great experience while having hair transplant surgery performed on me last thursday October the 15th To begin from the start, I previously had a very unsuccessful hair transplant surgery with another surgeon that left me emotionally scarred(and physically!!), apprehensive and very skeptical of any future procedures. I had very minimal growth as a result and was left deeply out of pocket. I had more or less written off the possibility of achieving a satisfactory hair transplant. At that stage in my life I had learned to live with my baldness ??“ I felt I had no choice ??“ but it was always an irritant. So when by chance I eventually found this website and forum I came to the conclusion that there were actual clinics out there that cared about their work and professionelism. I decided after much research on this forum and by private messaging many of the prominent members on this forum/website to organise a consultation with Farjo's. The big questions was could this team and their procedures help me? The answer, to my delight, was an encouraging 'yes we can'. The consultation with them was most informative and accurate. Far from being a sales pitch, I felt it was a caring approach from a team who genuinely wanted to help someone else with a problem. I don't want to dwell on this because I know both Dr Farjo and Mick , but I was struck by their relaxed yet serious approach, their honesty and above all their integrity. I know the latter is a judgement call but I have no doubts I was and am right. This was perhaps the most important factor in my decision to put my head in their hands. To have trust and confidence in your surgeon or in this case surgeons is of the utmost importance. Having a new natural looking head of hair will not change peoples' personalities or solve their problems in life. However it is a marvelous feeling to know that I am that right road that leads to there. The day and the procedure went as smoothly as possible. I had a total of approximately 2100 grafts excised and placed when it was thought only a planned 1800 would have been got. My previous wide transplant scar was also revised.Throughout the procedure both Dr Farjo's were present constantly, a very reassuring fact that 2 world class surgeons are monitoring you. Since the surgery I have experience little or no discomfort or disruption to my life. To anyone contemplating a procedure with Farjo medical centre I cannot highly recommend them enough. After my previous unpleasant experience this was a world of change. A definite PEOPLE BEFORE PROFIT organisation. I will be setting up a blog updating my progress at regular intervals. Mick also has my total consent to post all my surgery pictures( though you may have to bear with him on that I know he's very very busy at the moment!!) Once again Dr Farjo's, a million thanks to both of you, Mick and the whole team.
