  1. Apologies I think I miss worded my question I meant in relation to shock loss of native hair during a transplant, not the actual transplanted hairs
  2. What about none transplanted hair? How often do they go into a shed/shock loss and when do they tend to recover?
  3. Thanks for the reply’s guys it’s just nerve racking to see my hair look worse than it was prior to the HT
  4. I have shock loss behind my hair line on one primarily side, 30 days after surgery, was wondering what the time line for native hair recovery is, and if anyone has personal advice on shock loss they went through Note- specifically none transplanted hair I have been told it is related to the trauma of surgery and the use of anaesthetics 1. how common is temporary shock loss 2. what can be done to speed up the process 3. how long does it typically last? if anyone has any direct experience in this matter would love to hear from you
  5. That’s generally what I assumed, given that the hair shaft isn’t responsible for the cycle, but people seemed adamant they needed to pluck them
  6. Hey, I am on month 5 of my HT, and noticed some relatively short hairs that look like they are still dormant, given that they are still hanging around I can only assume they latched onto a blood supply. I have seen some folks here and on Reddit gently remove them with tweezers however I am not interested in doing that, so my question is, will they fall out on their own and restart their cycle or do I NEED to assist them? I just assumed given they were dormant they needed more time, so I’m genuinely suprised folks claimed they removed them w tweasers. I have had others simply tell me not to touch them and they will fall on their own in time, or simply restart their cycle.
  7. Just mean't is it on track in terms of growth? I see alot of slow and fast growers so it's hard to gauge
  8. Just thought I would drop an update, and ask some questions. I feel like I am a little behind in terms of growth on my left side, is it normal for 1 side to lag abit, and overall how's it lookin for 92 days out? I see some people with insane results at month 2
  9. Noticed some new hairs sprouting in, also some of the old ones never dropped and kept growing around 10% never fell out, but also I have some very short hairs then never dropped and dont seem to be growing, are they just sleeping? Why didn't they fall out if they arent going to grow straight away, abit confusing
  10. You could just be a really slow grower, it's not unheard of. Ignore people jumping on the "damaged grafts" train, they are speculating 100%, also you have a change in density between month 5/6 so it indicates things are still on their way
  11. Okay, so from experince I know, two things 1- oral is way more effective than topical 2- oral is dose-dependent and has the more you take the better your results, unlike topical where you are limted by skin absorption and lack of enyzme activity(Even in responders theres a finite amount of enzymes), your liver has way more of the enzyme, minus for special cases such as people with down syndrome. So, we know topical minoxidil is used to help prevent/work through shockloss, so is it safe to assume oral minoxidil would in turn do the same thing? Given that the mechanism of growth for minoxidil is due to minoxidil sulphate not the actual minoxidil itself.
  12. No worries, just a lil anxious about the whole thing, had hair in my new hairline and now its gone, but I guess the sooner the shed the sooner the regrowth, its just all very mentally taxing, especially because I am starting a new job soon
  13. Recently asked on the fourm and Reddit if L/J shaped sheds were normal and was reassured it’s common(managed to find a lot of ppl asking the same question) just wanted to post my month 1, shed really picked up very fast, fingers crossed for a speedy regrowth
  14. For refference, those pictures of hooked etc aren't mine, the only J/L shaped ones I have are very mild. Based on my searches on the fourm, and the internet now, it seems very common for some grafts to expect this behaviour
  15. For me, yes the only side was more body hair and the ability to quit topically minoxidil, unrelated note could you check your DMs please 🙏
  16. So is it common to see these bent little shapes? Someone said it’s a sign the grafts were damaged, or is that wrong
  17. It's usually people who took dutasteride, encountered a shed, then jumped off, which is effectively the worse thing you could possibly do, induce a shed and stop the medication thats going to restore the hair. Alot of people on that subreddit also claim Finasteride ruined their hair.
  18. Ah I see, I wasn't really shedding prior so I thought I would of been able to avoid it, I guess it's just wishful thinking
  19. Wasn't really shedding much, at day 24 now, and the shed hit hard while washing my hair, but I also noticed alot of my shedded hairs had grown, my donor area was shaved closer than the rest of my scalp to make it easier to extract, so they were very short when transplanted but they grew quite alot in the 24 days, but also some haven't really grown that much, I assume thats expected? - Shedding alot - Shedding hairs that have grown in length - Still have some hairs on my scalp that are much shorter - Typically how long does this stage last? My hair looked great shortly after the transplant so I am abit bummed out with this ugly duckling vibe Added pictures, my hair textures abit unique, relativey scruffy and hard when short, but it curls up dramatically once grown and softens up for some reason. Also don't mind the single hair coming out of my forehead, that was not transplanted there, oral minoxidil decided to chuck me a random single forehead strand below my native hairline, and I had 0 intentions going low enough to match it, same with my surgeon.
  20. Thanks man, guess I am just abit impatient as its already starting to shed , glad it looks good, hoping it will naturally blend in
  21. If you don't have folices there you won't grow alot of hair so if its already dense and populated it wont be a biggie, but your hair will get thicker in diameter and darker overall
  22. I am arab so I had a normal amount of body hair for a man, arms/chest nothing major major, but ye my arm hair is 2x density, it wraps around my arm now, chest hair increased, hair on abs now, leg hair increased, back hair appeared, you name it, but I will take this over 2x topical grease bs in my hair
  23. Just want to make this clear for anyone interested in OM. Unlike topical it is dosage dependent, the more you take the more minoxidil metabolite you get, because your liver has enough of the enyzme, 2ndly you will get bloating/water retention on any dosage/low/high if you have a bad diet and you eat high salt foods consistently, and drink little to no water, ALONGSIDE being overweight. Oral Min is for people who can keep track of their salt/water intake, aswell as maintain a healthy life style, take it from someone who is on 10mg of oral minoxidil, with 0 bloat, 0 water retention, the only time I have ever encountered retention on the drug is when I pigged out and had 2 pizzas and a full night of drinking with friends, which is out of the norm for my strict gymsqe life style
  24. Is it normal for a few grafts to be bent abit curved? Online has different opinions not my pictures but I noticed a few shedded ones a day 22 that were abit bent also added a picture of my HT day 22, started to shed abit how’s it looking?
