  1. I switched from 5 to 2,5mg daily and are on oral now for nearly 4 month. I would like to check with a Doctor if everything is fine so far. Do you know what would be worth checking at a doctor besides the blood pressure?
  2. I hope I am not interfering and are also having a question to fin-->dut. Would you recommend to check hormone levels first, before switching medication? Is estradiol the only important hormon to check?
  3. hey Melvin, do you mean taking dutasteride in general? I am too far away (Germany) too get a mesotherapy by Dr. Bisanga. I am thinking about trying dutasteride thou. But I would think the side effects are more probable then in taking finasterid I suppose.
  4. hey curious25, thank you for your feedback :). You are right, I got the dosage wrong ;-). 5 mg minoxidil prescribed and are using 2,5mg now. So you are saying a transplant in the front could make sense (but it is not bald I would say, just less hair then in the mid and vertex). You would wait in mid and vertex area until more hair is lost? I was taking 1mg finasterid and I had side effects, so I will stay at 0,5mg, which I heard is working pretty well. For the minoxidil I could try again. But from what I have read, taking the full dosage will only bring a few % more effect, so I would rather not risk the side effects.
  5. hey everyone, I have posted a few times already and are still undecided what to do next. I am on 0,5mg Finasterid (started 09.22) and 2,5 mg Minoxidil (started 03.23) daily (both oral). I went to Dr. Bisanga in March this year. He indentified my hair loss as diffuse thinning and prescriped 5 mg Minoxidil daily (which I reduced to 2,5 mg, because my blood pressure went very low). He told me to come back after about 9-12 month. The minoxidil should strenghten my hair, so a possible hair transplant will not cause shockloss of existing hair. He measured my donor and I have roughly 6000 grafts to spair. I am planning to visit Dr. Bisanga again early 2024, but are worried that I will need multiple hair transplants in the next few years. Do you think Dr. Bisanga is a good one in case of this kind of hair loss? Do you think it is feasible to add grafts in the front as well as in the mid scalp in the same session? If I understood Dr. Bisanga correctly, he would like to fill in grafts in the 1/3 of my scalp. I am mostly worried, that the hair loss is still progressing afterwards. I do not have pictures from the last 12 years, but from what I have noticed, my temples started receeding from age 23-33 and the thinning on the whole mid scalp started from 33-35. Should I still wait longer than this year, or do you think a transplant would make sense in 2024? /or would you hand the decision over to the Doctor, in this case Dr. Bisanga. Kind regards, Kenzo
  6. The question is, if woman are less attracted to me, because my hormone cocktail is different. I am still attracted the same way to woman, then before I have started taking fin, at least, from what I can tell.
  7. thanks a lot, just started to panic somehow a lot :D. Was also not able to find anything more negative on pubmed. So staying with Fin, I guess
  8. hey everyone, maybe I am overthinking here. But is there any information if the attractiveness to the opposite gender is changing, if taking Finasterid and lowering the DHT? I am taking it now for about 7 month, now side effects, still the same libido etc. But was wondering about the overall thing. Just cannot find any article if DHT is important for the falling in love thing or only the testosteron. Cheers, Kenzo
  9. Did you happen to haven any side effects? I will go to Belgium and meet with Dr. Bisanga and it might lead to a year of oral minoxidil before a possible hair transplant. I do have a lot of body hair and are a bit afraight it might get more.
  10. hello Gatsby, many thanks for the fast feedback. Maybe one more question from my site. It seems since I have started finasterid 0,5mg daily, that my mid scalp and crown started to thin out a little. I also got some itches on my skin. Should I be worried or go on and wait a few more month and see what happens. I am a little worried. Also does it make sense to already contact doctors about a transplant or should I wait a few more month and see how I am reacting to finasterid? I have heard that Bisanga and Pinto are both booked for the year and sometimes also for 2024, maybe contact them early I guess.
  11. Hey everyone, first post here:), I hope you can guide me a little. My hair is getting thinner now for about 12 years...and it is nearly always in my mind, so I am thinking about getting a hair transplant, but are not sure if it makes sense or not (will make another post in the Hair Restoration Questions and Answers section with more pictures). I first noticed my hair line very slowly receding when I was about 23 - 25. I started taking finasteride at 23 (1mg every day) for about 1-2 weeks, if I remember correctly. I stopped it right afterwards due to fear of gynecomastia. My hair line slowly receded further, but my crown and mid were still strong. In the past year my front became thinner, so I started finasterid again, this time 0,5mg daily (at around mid of September). I guess I am now about 4 month in. I do not have pictures of my crown from before with such short hair, but could it be that the lower density is due to the finasterid and it is slowly getting better? First picture is from about 2 weeks before, the second one is from yesterday. Also and advice in how to keep track, if finasterid works or not? If it does not work, what point would there be in having a hair transplant, right? 😉
