  1. Hey all, about a week past the 6 month mark . So I am not sure if having too much hair is a good problem or bad but now people tell me there may be too much of it! I see it as a good problem! It is interesting though that the the hair in the front is curling more and more.

i included dry hair outdoor photos (first three) and wet indoor out of shower (bottom two)

happy to have peoples feedback, great weekend all!!

Hey @botchedguy95 It was the positive results which made me choose him and I'm glad I did, this was back in 2016 / 2017 so maybe it's changed. I think from memory there were 4 of us on the day and eveything went really well.

How is it unethical? People who go there understand that's their procedure don't they, he definitely did my design, plan and incisions.

Would there be 20 good surgeons who do their own extractions, maybe 50? There are about 4 billion males on the planet, 50% (a guess) suffer from hairloss so that's 2billion. ASMED help 4 or 8 a day instead of 1. I'd say with any cosmetic procedure there are risks it won't go well but we can't all access or afford a one on one treatment. If ASMED are doing 1,000 procedures a year you'll also start seeing a lot more poor results based on the overall numbers even if the % of poor results is no different to other doctors. I also think it's more likely to post a bad result online.

I'm not taking anything away from a poor procedure or that it isn't traumatic and I think this forum is great for publishing all good and bad reaults to help others. Agree completely we all need to choose what's best for our own situation and do the research!

Before finding this forum which recommended ASMED I almost forked out $20,000 Australian $ for an australian plastics doctor with very little experience to do a 700 graph hairline which would have been a terrible outcome.

    @IMM1979 yes share away mate!

@Aus1980 here are the photos. By the way, I want to highlight that I have never used finasteride (even the clinic seemed surprised).  Of these things the easiest (and cheapest) to include for scalp health:

    1. Scalp scrub (https://www.amazon.com/DPHUE-Apple-Cider-Vinegar-Scalp/dp/B0767R87KB/ref=sr_1_1?crid=29UFIHBEE2EUV&keywords=Hue+ACV+scalp+scrub&qid=1666184768&qu=eyJxc2MiOiIxLjA4IiwicXNhIjoiMC44NyIsInFzcCI6IjAuNzcifQ%3D%3D&sprefix=hue+acv+scalp+scru%2Caps%2C310&sr=8-1

I got this one but any will do - once a week is enough

    2. Scalp massager https://www.amazon.com/Briogeo-Revival-Stimulating-Massager-Circulation/dp/B07C42J593/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?crid=1S5994E5V1QV7&keywords=briogeo+scalp+massager&qid=1666184817&qu=eyJxc2MiOiIyLjIxIiwicXNhIjoiMS4yMCIsInFzcCI6IjEuMTkifQ%3D%3D&sprefix=briogeo+scalp+massag%2Caps%2C443&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1

Absolutely love this and use it a few minutes a day or whenever you are bored. In fact, I now use this as my main hair comb/brush.

    3. Probiotic spray (https://www.amazon.com/MenBiotics-Rated-Topical-Probiotic-Body/dp/B018C41DDI/ref=sr_1_2?crid=39G6RV7MWW8WG&keywords=menbiotics+spray&qid=1666184928&qu=eyJxc2MiOiIwLjAwIiwicXNhIjoiMC4wMCIsInFzcCI6IjAuMDAifQ%3D%3D&sprefix=menbiotic%2Caps%2C363&sr=8-2)

I use this a few times a week and I do think it makes a difference for scalp health in general.

    4. For cutting DHT, I got this oil from The Innate Life (though it gets kind of messy). I use it 1-2x a week depending on my mood (https://theinnatelife.com/products/rosemary-scalp-treatment)

    5. The other stuff is up to you, Biotin gummies, minoxidil foam and shampoo (I use one from iherb)

    6. If you have the budget for a Lasercap, get the best one out there. Why? Because Australia is the cheapest place in the world (that I found) to buy it. Below is where I got mine:

    Hope that helps!

    Great result @IMM1979, looks awesome!

I'm from Australia and had 2,200 graphs back in 2018 at ASMED. I choose Erdogan based purely off the positive results and reccomendations from this forums!!

Crazy to see the different opinions now on the forum but he honestly changed my life and I feel like I picked up an awesome result.

I have had a a little more thinning and would like some more density so considering another 2,000 at some point and your post has helped.

Thanks @Aus1980and great to hear from a fellow “victim.” Yes it seems opinions on clinics change fast on this forum but just got to remember any clinic can provide a great or bad result at anytime.. There are a few things I do for my hair now that I think have helped (but are not popular on this forum ) and have got some friends now doing the same thing , happy to share my stack with you if you want ..

  4. 1. can't help you with LA or SF but based on your location you can try Bangkok, Singapore or Seoul. Bangkok is Dr. Pathomvanich, Singapore I did a consult with Dr Ma at Freia (thought he was great but its $$$ in Singapore). In Seoul (which is super advanced in terms of any kind of cosmetic surgery) my local friends recommend Mozerim (famous clinic) and Maxwell Hair clinic. I

    2. Usually you can email most and they will send you instructions for taking photos/sending a video of your donor area.

    3. Depends on recommendation from the clinic and most importantly, what you are comfortable taking (or not taking).

    4. Best to combine it with a holiday. Usually good to have 5-7 days in that location so it does not feel rushed but if you are short on time, can be compressed to 2-3 days.

    Yes, very interested!

https://knudsen.com.au/shop/. I bought mine here. They are an official distributor for the original Lasercap. You can do the currency conversion and see you are saving $$$$. The caveat is you can only ship it locally in Australia. So I shipped to a friend who then sent it to me overseas. Of course shipping cost varies depending where you live but net net you are still saving around 50% for the same thing.

David Sinclair recommend lllt for hair loss.

I am wondering which is the best value ones to buy.

So far I've been having trouble figuring out which are the best ones. I saw that some just use LEDs, where as you want one that actually use lasers.

There are some that sell for 700, while others sell for like 3k. There also those with a diode count.

I use the Original Laser Cap as an adjunct treatment. It is expensive but I found a source that sells it new at half price if you get interested. Started a thread on it but there was not much interest, so stopped posting. Have had fast growth though - can't pinpoint it is due to Lasercap but think it definitely helps.

This is just my experience but I really felt that things didn’t really start to change until month five. For month flour I think you are right on track @IMM1979 for four months and you can look forward to things really taking off from here! 👌

Thanks @Gatsby! Yeah these outdoor photos are not super flattering. Looks much better though when I take indoor photos (as attached) and tbh in general in everyday photos it already looks quite full. No complaints but realize more to come! Onwards and upwards!

  8. 4 MONTH UPDATE:

Hey all, This is my almost 4 month update, just couple days away. Tried to get as close as possible to last month in terms of angle but its not perfect. Still I have put the photos side by side for comparison (for front: left is month 3, right month 4). For crown, bottom is month 4).

From close up the photos are a lot less flattering but from a slight distance I find the front is pretty much covered. When you look closely, there is still a lot of visible scalp in the front and not sure what is happening there but now I pretty much brush the hair over to the side.

there has been a big visible change in the crown over the last month and I think this comes through in the photos.

would love some feedback from everyone!

and anyone else that cares to comment!

    Thanks all!

Thanks for the responses folks. I spoke to an NHS GP about this today, he didn't seem too thrilled about an otherwise healthy 21 year old taking oral min for cosmetic reasons.

That being said, he thought a private clinic must have prescribed it to me (I bought it from a grey market online pharmacy) and was thus hesitant to provide any explicit advice, however he suggested lowering the dose to 2.5mg as I had told him I handled that fine. I also asked him to organise an ECG test for me for this week hopefully.

Here are some readings I took today (I took my oral minoxidil 5mg at 20:00 - oral minoxidil's maximal effect on blood pressure occurs at the 2-3 hour mark):

    24/08/2022 at 21:30 - 103 60 84/ 90 58 84/ 94 51 88

    24/08/2022 at 22:36 - 92 59 85/ 93 59 89

I took a walk today to the corner shop and my heart rate was 100+, however I think that's normal?

My resting heart rate went from being in the 50s and 60s to now being in the 80s and 90s. I'm wearing a fitbit watch right now, sitting in my chair typing this on my laptop and my heart rate is not going below 80. This can't be healthy long-term as I've read some info online stating that a higher resting heart rate in middle aged men was associated with premature death.

I am very strongly considering cutting the dose back down to 2.5mg, and I've ordered some from Manual (Quartering tablets is too troublesome).

And yes, everyone should take weight and blood pressure readings before starting oral min. Also, Dr Donovan has some informative articles on oral minoxidil, worth checking those out before you take it.

Good you went to see a doc (my GP outright refused to prescribe OM to treat high blood pressure). For what its worth, your doc is right . You should never take any medications for cosmetic readings if it means comprising your health.

  10. following. Am on BP medications and have considered taking OM but exactly due to the effects you are experiencing am reconsidering. OM was originally developed to treat HBP but it was found that at higher doses the side effects were too severe. Given your weight though, it seems your dose is probably too high. I weigh around 95kg and would probably not take more than 2.5mg.

  11. has anyone tried OM that is also taking medication to control high blood pressure? OM was originally designed to lower BP but at high doses the side effects are apparently severe. curious if anyone who already takes BP meds has tried low dose OM and experienced issues such as dizziness, lightheadedness....

From viewing the forum recommendations for a Dr in India for a caucasian hair transplant and speaking to each clinic i am heavily leaning Dr. Kapil Dua, i do have some slight concerns about the lack of patient posted reviews in the sub compared to Medispa & Eugenix. My main question is does anyone have experience with Dr. Dua i assume so as he is forum recommended and if not is there any other non forum recommended Drs in that region i should be looking at?

My local friends recommended Dr Viral Desai at DHI in Mumbai. You can try to do a consult. I personally did consults at Eugenix and DHI in Delhi and decided not to go with either.
