  1. Basically. The 3 options are $1200, $2500, $3000 respectively. Good lord that is pricey. I wonder if anyone has any before/after pictures
  2. Why did you opt for FUT out of curisoity? Thanks
  3. A lot of people are saying smoking weed is a vasoconstrictor but that isn't true. Weed is a vasodilator and opens up your blood vessels. These things are complicated and it may work differently on different parts of the body, but just because nicotine is a vasocosntricro doesn't mean weed is.
  4. Is their a link to the specific product you use? Or a model number or any other identifying details that I could share with my dermatologist? I'm assuming this is one that is by prescription only? Thanks for your response
  5. Hi all, hopefully this is the right sub for this topic. I recently started Min and am planning to do a HT in November. I don't want to take Fin, but am curious about Laser Cap therapy. In a consult I had with a well established Dr, his assistant mentioned that the Capillus was basically just a Chinese knockoff that doesn't work. He recommended their prescription only option. The problem is the prescription option is $2500 and the Capillus is like $900 I think. So, 2 questions 1. Do either of these things really work? 2. Is the prescription option worth the extra money? Thanks!
  6. How old are you if you don't mind me asking? No hair loss on your hairline it looks like? Is this your 1st procedure? I'm trying to book right now with Dr. Nader for his soonest availability.
  7. Hey all, Has anyone regretted or heard of someone regretting using Minoxidil because they came out months after starting it in worse condition than when they begin? Essentially they got hit with the full effects of the shed phase but none of the expected regrowth? I'm going in for a hair transplant before the end of the year and am considering using Min (Along with laser cap and possibly derma rolling) but am concerned with the dreaded Minox shed phase.Started using Min 2 days ago and already may be noticing some shedding (Or maybe imagining hard to say).``` Thanks
  8. Thank you. Is the oral Finasteride more effective than topical? Also, am I wrong or can SMP be used to "camouflage" areas where you've had hair transplanted that maybe isn't super thick? Like do you really have to keep your hair short for SMP or can you use it to hide areas with longish hair?
  9. Thanks for the response. Dr Nader is pretty well recognized so I think even though his prices are cheaper than a US clinic he's still produced very good quality as reported by many on here. If you know of any other reputable Dr's in Mexico please share those if you could be so kind. I will try to get a better picture of my donor area, back of your head is a difficult area to get a clear picture of. But trust me I've always had very thick luscious hair so I imagine there are a good bit of double, triple, quadruple back there.
  10. Thanks for your response! Side effects I'm concerned about: Loss of libido/sexual function and depression. I'm sure you're familiar with the horror stories out there, do you think these people are not being honest or do you think it's just a very small minority? I certainly don't claim everyone gets side effects - drugs interact differently on everyone. However their are a ton of other endocrine disruptors out there in our daily environments (Microplastics, agriculture pesticides) so adding something like Fin on top could potentially really hurt certain people. Testosterone levels are already WAY below what they were on average in men 60 years ago and I tend to believe the thousands of people with Fin horror stories, even if it is a minority of cases. I definitely plan on doing the Laser Cap therapy that you recommended in an earlier post. You recommended one that was only by prescription - just out of curiosity what makes this one better than the other ones you can buy over the counter? I think I may start doing Min also since basically no side effect risks. I'm worried about my cats because I know it's toxic to them but I guess I'll just be careful. You say not to do the crown at all if I'm not doing any other things to help. Can't I just do a 2nd transplant to cover up whatever spots I continue to lose, assuming the donor area I have has enough? I have a thick beard I could use too I suppose.
  11. Hi all, Hopefully this is the right sub-forum for this type of question. I'm 33.5 years old with balding on the crown and a receding hairline. I also have a pretty thick donor area. (Pic attached). I am hoping to get in for a transplant with Dr Nader in the next few months. My question is this: I really don't want to go on Fin/Min. Mainly because of the side effects, hassle, and long term costs. I know this topic gets a lot of opinions swirling so I'd like to avoid the "Most people don't get side effects" discussion. What I would like to discuss is peoples thoughts (And personal stories) on avoiding Fin/Min after a first transplant and just planning to get a 2nd done later on with perhaps some Micro Pigmentation to add the appearance of thickness. It sounds like 6000 grafts is what's needed for a decent full head of hair, and with prices in Mexico/Turkey being lets say 1.35 per graft that's only $8100. I understand this wont return you to full native levels of thickness, but add in some Micro Pigmentation and it seems like you're good to go. No risk of side effects, and cheaper long term cost than a lifetime of Min/Fin but also without the daily hassle. Does anyone have any thoughts on this plan? .
  12. Also, based on your name you seem to be a fan of the laser hats? Do they seem to work fairly well I had never heard of them until recently. Any particular one you recommend?
  13. Thanks for the reply. I'm currently not doing anything to help with retention other than using Ketocanozale shampoo once a week and taking biotin daily. I am considering starting laser therapy with one of those hats but I have't yet. I'm not interested in Fin due to the potential side effects and don't like Minox because it doesn't seem super effective and I don't like the idea of putting it in every day. It is definitely pretty demarcated but I'm starting to thin in the area between the crown and the hairline. Still not super visible, and seems to not be shedding that much now compared to a few months ago when I was highly stressed. Just to confirm, you're basically saying don't do anything with the crown and just focus on hairline for now? I would kind of like to do both at once, my hair loss doesn't seem to happen fast. I started losing at around 25 and this is where I am today. Thanks again for ur thoughts
  14. One more showing back of head. I have very thick hair (In the areas it still exists) in the donor area so hoping this will help me.
  15. Hey all, just curious what you folks think about # of grafts needed to cover crown and restore hairline (Pics below). I've had one tele-consult so far and was quoted 1800-2000 grafts for the crown and 1200 for the hairline for a total of 3000-3200 grafts. Also, any thoughts on whether FUT or FUE is better in my specific case? I've done research on both but it's hard to find which option seems best as it is specific to the context? Final question: Does anyone know Dr. Naders price per graft? He is close to where I currently am so I'm hoping to book with him. Thanks!!!
