FUE performed on our patient (42) with
• 1 FUE ex domo with a highly unnatural hairline as a result.
The hairline is too low and the grafts in the frontal hairline are pluggy and implanted in the wrong direction.

• Hair diameter of ~ 54 - 62 micronsTreatment plan
1/ Extraction* I
2/ Follicular Unit Extraction to attain an aesthetic reconstruction of the hairline and extraction* II
3/ Touch-up to improve the density of the frontal hairline and extraction* III
* Extraction of wrong-placed and -directed grafts from FUE ex domoPerformed procedures
1/ Extraction I of 570 FU (January 16, 2020)
2/ Extraction II of 308 FU + Follicular Unit Extraction with a total of 1022 FU (July 7, 2020)

As you know, yesterday I interviewed @DrTBarghouthi to date, Dr. Barghouthi is the only physician testing Verteporfin in the field of surgical hair restoration. Verteporfin is a drug that prevents the pathway to scarring, specifically Engrailed-1 fibroblasts. Scars lack hair and sebaceous glands, and other dermal appendages such as the hair matrix and dermal papilla necessary for hair growth. Verteporfin aims to treat scarring by treating these three key factors, promoting regrowth of dermal matrix structures and appendages (normal skin and hair follicle growth).
Here's an article with the research that has been done at Stanford University using Vertoporfin on mice.
Here is a quote from the study:
"The results were astounding, Longaker said. The healed skin looked completely normal. “There must be three things for wound healing to be true skin regeneration,” Longaker said. “The skin needs to have normal hair follicles and glands, it needs to have a normal appearance under a microscope, and it needs to be just as strong as normal skin.”
“The first thing we were shocked by was the all the hair in the healed wound,” he said. “We were also able to see normal glands and showed that the skin was just as strong as unwounded skin.”
Now, we have to be realistic. I'm cynical when it comes to hair loss regeneration. I'm optimistic, but wait to see how the trial on humans go, but even if 25% of the hair follicles grow back, this would increase the number of lifetime grafts DRAMATICALLY. If you have a donor capacity of 8,000 grafts, that would bump you up to the 10,000 number.
I have attached the photos from the most recent photos from the study. This thread will be updated by @DrTBarghouthi as the results come in.
groundbreaking stuff for the HT community. good work @DrTBarghouthi 👏🏻👏🏻💎

Hello,
For those who have had a HT how did you go about figuring out the hairline?
Did you just go with what the doctor suggested?
Or you brought pics in and showed them?
I am just trying to figure out how to prep for my HT. I honestly, can't remember my HT from when I had a full head of a hair lol.
If you have any other advice you think I might need to consider, I would appreciate it. Thanks in advance.
I am leaning towards Dr. Kongkiat Laorwong. He suggested 2500-3000 for the hairline and then in a year to do the crown.
Thanks!
great question 👏🏻

I’m currently waiting on Dr. Freitas and his team to get back to me after completing the online consult form. Hoping his wait time isn’t a year.
There aren’t enough reviews on him that I can find from actual patients but his work looks incredible. I plan on documenting my entire HT experience and sharing on YouTube if I choose him.
Please continue to share your results! Amazing!
exactly the same here, freitas & couto’s hairline works is on another level I’d say 🤩

Hey everyone,
First of all, I want to thank everyone for all the support, advice, feedback, etc. that is provided on this forum. There is a wealth of knowledge here and just as importantly there are really good people here. I could not have done it without you.
History:
I am about 40 years old and started to notice that my frontal hairline, temples, and crown were thinning at about 30. It has been a gradual decline since then. From 30 to now I got married and had kids. I started finasteride about a year ago after we decided we were done growing our family. Finasteride did stabilize my hair loss and therefore decided to take the next step and pursue a hair transplant.
I combed through the forums and the recommended list of surgeons. I ultimately narrowed my list down to a couple of surgeons with Eugenix being one of them. I did have a video consultation with Dr. Arika and felt very comfortable with her. She was kind, professional, and answered all my questions. I went ahead and put a deposit down to hold a spot. Shortly after this I saw that Dr. Pradeep and Dr. Arika had decided to tour the United States. At first, I was disappointed because the dates and locations did not work with my professional schedule. However, @Melvin- Moderator and my coordinator Rishabh were able to set up an in-person consultation on a different date (thank you!). I met Dr. Pradeep for a coffee on the upper west side of NYC. I know this has nothing to do with the results of my HT but we ended up hanging out for much longer than I was intending. Dr. Pradeep is an amazing human and his life story is truly inspiring. We ended up starting a friendship. This made me feel so much more confident about the procedure.
About a month later I was in Delhi for my HT. My flight landed at 3AM but believe it or not the airport in Delhi was bustling at this time. I did have to call the hotel to figure out where the driver was waiting but it was smooth sailing after that. I stayed at the Westin which is a nice hotel. Given my late flight they asked me to sleep in and come in at noon.
Hair Transplant
- Design - This was done by Dr. Pradeep Sethi and he was accompanied by several other doctors. Honestly, I just let Dr. Pradeep do his thing for the design. I had already spoken to him at length in NYC so I felt comfortable with what he drew.
- Surgery- After the design, we started the surgery at about 1PM and it went until about 9PM. After the local anesthesia was applied, all the slits were made by Dr. Pradeep and all the extraction were done by Dr. Arika. Overall, I really had minimal to no pain and breaks were allowed to stretch, go to the restroom, or eat. On this day they worked on the area behind the hairline and the crown. The implantations were done by the senior doctors or techs. (By the way for those who are wondering all the techs come from Dr. Pradeep’s hometown where he handpicks who works for the clinic. All the current techs have been with Eugenix for several years.) The next morning, I came back at 8AM and we started shortly after that. The extractions were again performed by Dr. Arika and implantation was done by senior doctors and techs into the crown and behind the hairline. Dr. Pradeep returned for the extractions and implants of the hairline and temple points. He did have to use a different type of punch (sharp punch) to help extract singles of a certain caliber for the frontal hairline and temple points. I was glad that he was so focused on finding the exact right grafts for the hairline and temple points.
- We ended up using 3811 grafts which is just 11 more than what I was quoted during my initial consultation via videochat.
Overall Experience:
Overall, I feel that the Eugenix team did an amazing job from a clinical and hospitality perspective. They consistently made sure that my needs were met. I was lucky enough to spend some time at the farmhouse with Dr. Pradeep and other patients who were here this week. As I said earlier, he is truly an amazing person and I learned a lot from him. I know some may be concerned that my experience was different because I met the surgeons in NYC prior to coming to Delhi. I will say that I observed the same level of hospitality as well as the same level of detail in clinical care being extended to the patients each day I was at the clinic. Thank you to the Eugenix team (Dr. Pradeep, Dr. Arika, Dr. Das, Dr. Somesh, all the techs, Rishabh, Anil, Rajat, the list goes on and on!).

If you can save up to £4500, Dr Arshad at TheHairDr clinic in Leeds is £3 per graft. I know it’s more than your current budget, but you’d save on air fares, hotels, etc.
is he any good? don’t mean to be ignorant

some of the best DR’s on here have well over a year waiting list, some closer to 2 years! you’d expect to wait at least a few months for somebody any good but what do I know lol one of the more knowledgable guys on here will give their thoughts am sure

After doing a lot research personally , looking at tons of cases on all the foreign forums too, there’s only two surgeons I would go for a hair transplant and they are konoir or couto. Don’t get a transplant if your head’s not being worked on by those two. I would give.bisanga a honourable mention too.
Bisanga? Freitas?

Time to name and shame once again. The shamelessness it takes to post a picture of a clinic with their logo in the background and pass it off as your own is astonishing. @RTC you have a new series for YouTube. Thieves in the industry.
