For now yes, what is your age? The crown shows signs that in may drop to NW6 in future so if you are not on medication & under 40, make sure they don't get too close to unsafe zone when harvesting. With such pattern hair loss, if you are young patient FUT would be more ideal.

I'm 34, been on fin for almost two years and luckily the crown has moved much since that time.

    Thanks for your input.

How would this be prevented. I want fue but I also have sensitive skin and feel I could get keloids. Does that basically rule me out for all HT procedures?

Theres a difference between sensitive skin and skin that is prone to keloid scaring. Google keloid scars.

One also must assume the patient in question visited a hair mill. Bad combo.

Dozens of factors go in to play for a safe and professional HT.

I was in a barber shop last week, the barber was from Turkey and he said he got a transplant near his hometown for 700 euro. I asked him how many grafts and he said 'they just took what they needed'.  You can certainly get scary clinics!

    I get it though.

Life is rough. Money can be tight. There is always a risk even with the best clinics.

The difference though is not only the skill but the patient aftercare which lends peace of mind to the person being operated on.

Been hearing more and more about Asli Tarcan, how does this place still exist?

I'm surprised there hasn't been lawsuits.

As far as HT's go, it's a budget clinic. In theory, people who are on a tight budget do not have the resources to bring about pressure on places like this.

Damn after seeing that I may take an extra fin pill today just to be safe...

This. Hell I might even add DUT once a week and oral minox in a daily smoothie for good measure.

To OP, I believe Eugenix recently had a patient similar to your situation, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vkfa0V0n-nM

Edit - His name is John Cross, crusader against the unholy norwood.

Good luck and keep us updated.

My issue is that I'm not wanting to take Fin so will likely get a laser from here https://hairmax.ie/ as they are fda approved. Will continue with topical minoxidil and talk to gp about the oral form.

First of all congrats on a clean operation. All the best going forward.

However, I don't understand why someone would get a HT without using fin knowing the hair behind it will eventually thin and fall out.

Balding doesn't stop at a certain age.

Even if you were to get a second HT, you're going to need more grafts to cover hairloss you could have saved with fin. That means less grafts for the future, a larger operation which includes more trauma to the scalp and more uncertainty.

Get a generic 1mg script and split in in to 4's (.25mg) and titrate up.

Also can you post pictures pre operation the directly post operation? This might help to see where hair was placed.

Also, naming the clinic would be helpful. I'm sure they won't offer a refund and at best if they offer to fix it would you trust them?

I would like to see pics of the donor pre operation also.

I agree with naming the clinic.

Although the tone of the thread is already set, what if you had a great result at 5 months? Would you not share the name of the clinic? Of course you would. Transparency is important here.

    Also, are you on finasteride?

Geeez man....you really think my only option is to shave it off and go SMP? i dont think I ever want to touch SMP again.

Iv heard of people having up to 4 or 5 HTs....extracting hairs from the neck beard or chest. Anyone think that can be an alternative option for me in 6 more months? im absolutely torn...and just want to find someone who can help me.

I'm sorry you're going through this.

Some things to keep in mind

    - Its only 5 months. Wait until about 10-12 months before you freak out.

    - Have some perspective. We're all fighting a losing battle. You're not slick bald. There's plenty of hair on your head. If this HT fails you can salvage some donor+beard hair for even better coverage. And hopefully you won't choose another hair mill for the procedure.

    - You're gonna need to keep the back and sides super short for now + stop staring in the mirror all day. What's done is done. Look forward. There's still time for recipient area to improve.

    - There are doctors who can fix this, but it won't be cheap.

Story: Experiencing balding since like 17, could see hair on my school books. Now Im 23(in august 24), tried shaving my head but it looks like disaster and many people has told me that. I can't longer live with hair like this so I need to do something about it. I don't smoke nor drink. I've tried minoxidil before but it made my scalp really itchy and flaky, like insane dandruff. Haven't used finasteride. I have literally bald spots on front of my head so I wont be even able to recover this with medication and I don't have motivation to use finasteride if I don't have hair in my front, also doctors said it's better to not use meds before surgery evaluation. I was contacting some doctors/clinics and they said they are willing to perform the surgery on me. Only HLC refused because of my age. My budget is 1.5eur per graft at max. Can someone give me advice what to do?

Preserving as much hair as possible is the name of the game. You still have plenty left to lose, and if it goes i'm sure you're gonna feel that much worse about your appearance. Get on fin and stay on it. Generic form is 1mg, get a pill cutter and start out at .5mg for a few weeks until you feel safe to go to 1mg. Plenty of guys stay on .5mg effectively still.

I wish I knew about fin at 24.

    Get on fin.
