  1. Just book a hotel lol. Honestly, Bangkok is super affordable
  2. Hi everyone! I had previously made a thread with monthly updates with my HT with Bogota Hairlines. I wanted to create a new one to showcase the final result after 12 months (my apologies Melvin if this is not allowed). It's hard to believe it's already been a year since this life changing procedure has occurred. As I said in the previous thread, they operate like a well-oiled machine and felt very efficient at what they were doing. I'm going to let the results speak for itself. I know a lot of guys wear their hair long after a HT, but I personally always wear mine shorter, although I may try changing it up. Although I'm still self-conscious, I definitely walk around feeling better than before. While it might not be the GOAT of HTs, this to me is a solid improvement compared to where I was previously. I will probably go for a 2nd HT at some point, but at least for now, I'm quite pleased with the final result. Happy growing everyone! Before: Immediately after procedure: 12 months later: If people want a more month-by-month breakdown, feel free to check it out here: https://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/topic/66456-dr-camacho-in-bogota-3050-grafts/
  3. Both are great. I feel like I've yet to see a Pekiner hairline that doesn't look incredible, so I would learn more towards him, but I don't think you could go wrong with either
  4. Hello everyone! Here are photos from the 11 month mark. Overall, love where I am at compared to before. Probably will end up getting a 2nd HT in the future to add more density, but I finally feel like I can go out without feel as self conscious as I did previously. Not expecting much change between months 11 and 12, but overall I'm definitely pleased where I'm at
  5. Thanks @mofo and @Gatsby! Definitely a noticeable change the last few months. Guess they really mean it when they say you have to wait at least 12 months!
  6. Month 10! How are we looking? Wishing everyone a happy return to college football season!
  7. Month 9 update: Looks like it filled in a little more compared to month 8. It's such a drastic change from where I started pre-HT. Probably will do a 2nd HT to add in some density in the future, but hopefully some the next few months have some additional filling in to keep making it look better
  8. Tomorrow will be the 8 month mark since this journey began! Since I may be out of town tomorrow, I took pics today instead. Compared to where I started, it's like night and day. I fully expect to go for a 2nd HT at some point, but I can say there has definitely been remarkable improvement from what it once was. Donor area still looks fantastic which is nice for future work down the line. Looking forward to seeing it thicken up some more.
  9. Looks great! Excited to see how it ends up. Looks like it'll be nothing short of great
  10. It's weird. The picture on my phone looks more dense than when I emailed it to myself to post here. I'm unsure why that is. The white areas on the crown in the photos on my phone actually have more hair in them (although thin right now, perhaps they will thicken up). I took another picture in a little less bright light, and it appears a bit more dense (I know the photo is a little blurry but I just got off work after 13 straight hours so I'm tired lol): I also asked them to put some in the crown. The crown actually bothered me a lot. Perhaps it was a mistake on my part and they should've put everything in the front, but I knew deep down I would be unhappy if the crown went untouched. As you can see though, my starting point was awful: https://content.invisioncic.com/o278943/monthly_2022_11/IMG-20221104-WA0001.jpg.80150fc41be674ca25fa51ac5aea27db.jpg It's definitely a substantial improvement from what it was before. This is one of the reasons I have mixed feeling so far. On the one hand, it feels like what was implanted should have resulted in a more dense result thus far. On the other hand, compared to what I had, it's markedly improved. My partner says he feels it's a substantial difference as well. There are some people here who have said they noticed a substantial difference between months 6 and 12. Hopefully that will be me.
  11. Well we're at month 7! Cheers everyone! Just want to check in and see how the progress is. Mostly want to see if this is on pace for what to expect and/or if I should be expecting more in the coming months! As a reminder this is what it looked like post-op, and then the pics underneath are at the 7 month mark. Obviously I'm super greedy and hope for more ;). Compared to where I started though, it's like night and day.
  12. Depends how bad the diabetes is. A1c of 6.5% and receiving treatment? Probably fine. a1c of 18% and refusing any insulin? Definitely a lot higher risk for wound healing where a surgeon may not be comfortable doing this procedure.
  13. I think the final result will look great. I am however very surprised that based on the OP's current hairloss level, it required nearly 7000 grafts.
  14. I think I stopped feeling them around the 5 month mark or so. It's weird though because if I look in the mirror, it looks like there's short hairs poking through even though I can't feel them. Not sure if it's just so thin right now that I can barely feel it or what
  15. That's good to hear! I think I see so many stellar results online of people looking great at like 5 months that it made me concerned. The post-op density looked good so hopefully it'll keep growing in! Taking finasteride 1mg daily. Holding off on minoxidil because my blood pressure runs on the low-normal side.
  16. Made it to the 6 month mark! Feels like things have slowed down a bit, but things look substantially better than it did pre-transplant. Not sure what to expect over the next 6 months, but mostly hoping for some improved density. Also I think I will end up needing a 2nd HT for the crown and mid-scalp, which I kind of expected but was cautiously optimistic it wouldn't be needed. Oh well. Anyway, here are the comparison photos from before HT to now. Let me know how it's coming along (got a new phone so the lighting is a bit different)! Before: 6 months: Before: 6 months: Before: 6 months: Before (donor area): 6 months (donor area):
  17. See, I always learned that the secret is to masturbate during the procedure for optimal results. Your shaking cancels out the surgeon's hand shaking during implantation
  18. It's now the 5 month mark since the procedure. I have to say, checking my hair out in the mirror every single day has made the progress feel very slow. However, I now compared my current photos to where I was pre-op and WOW what a tremendous difference. At first I was a little disappointed with where I was at because I forgot where I had started, but comparing it to the before photos, all I can say is wow. Cannot wait to see what the coming months bring. I won't be surprised if I end up needing another HT later to fill in more density, but we'll see how it looks at the 1 year mark before we worry about that. Pre-op photos compared to 5 months today (did the best I could taking photos myself with similar angles to the ones that were done in Colombia) Mid-top view: Top view: Donor area: Crown:
  19. Heh, reading the comments here have me nervous about what my own results will end up being. Granted it's been 4 months since my procedure so it's not like I can change anything, but my anxiety is now higher lol
  20. Tbh, I feel like most people who get a HT will eventually need another one at some point down the line. Honestly, if you do have to go back, it will be pretty clear where to put the grafts anyway so I wouldn't worry too much. Plus tbh, that area isn't an area a lot of people are going to be looking at so you get a little more breathing room there. So I when I went with Dr. Camacho, yes the design portion was pretty fast. However, he's been doing this I think nearly 20 years. I would imagine after doing a hairline design per day for nearly 20 years, you probably know instantaneously how the design should go. I mostly attributed the quickness of it to him being an expert who has done this plenty. I did express my concern that my hairline might be too high, but he explained why it was important to be more conservative with it. I'm sure the design would have taken longer if I had more questions or a lot of concerns, but I was ok defaulting to the opinion of an expert, so I really didn't have concern about what they felt would look best on me. Honestly, it's probably normal to be concerned when the process doesn't look exactly like you'd expect, and this is certainly an anxiety-inducing process no doubt. But like I said, I think yours will look good and you'll be happy with the final result, even if the placement isn't exactly what you had in mind
  21. I think it'll look really good once it finishes growing out. In the last photo, the angles don't quite look the same. Left photo looks more head-on and right photo looks more top-down to me, so hard for me to say the that it's truly "back loaded". I will say that even when I look at my own head, it's the very back of the crown that you can see much more easily than the top (unless someone is looking straight down at you lol), so beefing that up is never a bad choice if there's thinning in that area if you want the illusion of not thinning. Obviously they saw you in person and we didn't, so they can tell much more easily which areas were more necessary to transplant. Perhaps they're future-proofing thinning in that area. I think in 1 year time, you will be very happy with the results. I also went with Dr Camacho, and honestly if I had led the design for everything, I'd probably look way worse overall than what we ended up going with. I know you're also worried about the density, but transplanting grafts with 3-4 hairs/graft will look much different than 1 hair/graft in that area.
  22. @Gatsby Definitely agree about the donor. Looks practically untouched! I'm very pleased with their donor management skill. I'm glad to hear after 4 months is when the growth really began. Certainly hoping this is the month of much growth! Looking forward to seeing what the next 2 months bring
  23. 4 month mark today (approximately since February is a short month)! Doesn't seem like a ton of new growth, although compared to the pre-op photos, I suppose it looks improved? I'm probably just being inpatient. Hoping for that explosion of growth people talk about during months 4-6, although I think I can see some hairs here and there sprouting. I can definitely feel hairs in the crown. Also hoping I can get myself to stop checking my hair everyday in the mirror lol. Well here are the photos!
  24. It's probably similar to the way Eugenix does it where you can pay more for someone with more experience. I would presume they offer her as a cheaper alternative to also allow her to continue gain more experience (I think she's already been there 7+ years if I recall). I certainly have never once thought Dr. Pareja is not skilled enough to perform good work. She certainly worked on me while I was there and I have yet to see anything as a result of her work that raised any flags Is the savings worth it? I couldn't answer that. It really depends what things are worth to you or how much you value that extra experience Dr. Camacho brings. I also don't think Dr. Camacho is unreasonably priced at $2.50 per graft. Personally, it was nice to know that I was in good hands with Dr. Camacho which is why I went with him, but I don't think you would go wrong with either one
