  1. 4 month update. Pretty happy with results so far. Hoping I still have more density left to go. I can spot a few short hairs poking through but it seems like growth has started to decelerate in the past couple weeks. Not sure if you can see it in any of these photos, but im noticing the implanted hair in the temple point region, which had about 80 grafts on each side, is slightly darker than the native hair surrounding it. Not sure how I feel about that.
  2. Thanks! You can definitely send any questions you have my way and I’ll do my best to answer them based on my experience.
  3. 3.5 month progress update. Loving the results so far! Have some small concerns about graft angle, but it’s still early. Would love to know peoples thoughts! Progression photos below: before, post-op, today 6/12 (6/14 would be 3.5 months). Closer zoom in brighter light:
  4. 2 month update Here’s an update as of today also, a little over 2.5 months Feels like growth has picked up a lot in past couple weeks
  5. Hi everyone, I had my procedure done in Bogota on March 1st this year, so I’m about 6 weeks out at this point. My hairline started creeping back in my early twenties but, stabilized in the last decade. No meds prior to procedure, started 5% topical minoxidil last week. Booking / In Bogota. Bogota hairlines has two price points, one with Dr Camacho and one with Dr Pareja. I booked the package with Dr Camacho. Prior to the procedure all the communication from the clinic was great and made it easy and low stress to get to the hotel. The hotel was nice but the room was a little small granted I had my wife and 1 year old with me. I planned on working out with the hotel how I could upgrade the room on my own (clinic covers the cost of two nights). I mentioned it to the clinic rep who picked me up the morning of surgery during conversation. That rep ended up speaking to the hotel and by the time I got back after the procedure, my wife had been moved into a much larger room. The procedure. Dr Pareja and someone else ended did all the extractions. Dr Camacho and Dr Pareja did the implants, one on each side, with implants pens. Progress photos: Before: Immediately after procedure: 1 week: 1 month: Today (almost 6 weeks) close up: Donor at about 1 month:
  6. Seems like it's the clinic's practice is to try to overstate grafts to maximize their revenue. The 3,000 grafts that I was told I needed.... which surprisingly was the marketing guy (Johnny) who said 3,000 were needed, followed by Dr Camacho agreeing.....was significantly higher than the estimates I got from Doctors Bicer, Nader, Turan, and Gur. Everyone that goes to Bogota Hairlines should follow EHZ's lead. I'm interested in what the clinic told @Melvin- Moderator about how they advertise that Dr Camacho does extractions in his more expensive package, yet he doesn't... unless I guess if you confront them about it prior to surgery, like EHZ. When I asked why Dr Camacho did not perform a single extraction, despite the materials they provided AND Dr Camacho's own words in the podcast interview with Melvin, here was their response:
  7. Hey mofo, I think it's good that you're scheduled with Dr Pareja's package. Despite my issues with the clinic, I can't complain at this point about the quality of work with my procedure. And Dr Pareja was certainly more active in my procedure than Dr Camacho.... she did the extractions and more than half of the implantation. I think you're in good hands. A big regret of mine was not pushing for enough information during the planning phase. Asking these questions would likely have eliminated some of the issues I experienced: How did they arrive at the graft count? Are they assuming a certain grafts/cm2 density? What is the full implantation zone they have scoped out? If they plan to extend grafts into an area that they can see is thinning - they should communicate that plan. Nobody wants a surprise when they see the results after the surgery is already done. In my case: Dr Camacho only drew the front hairline - no backstop where grafts would become less dense or stop.
  8. Yep good catch, I had a small amount of temple work. My chart from the doctor says there were 220 grafts at the temples (I assume 120 on each side). It’s been near impossible to estimate a graft count in the temples. The implant sites were not real visible at all once I took bandages off after 2 days. I asked them a few days ago to send me the side view post-op photos but they haven’t responded yet. The photo below is 2 days after surgery, both sides look the same.
  9. A secondary concern of mine in the last few days has been to question if 3,000 grafts were actually implanted. I see some results that appear to have a similar density, with larger coverage areas. I realize this all could just be misguided stress after the procedure, and ideally that’s the case. Here are some pictures Before: Immediately following procedure: Day 4:
  10. I had a procedure last week with a doctor recommended on this site, and came away thinking I was taken advantage of. My question though is, is it common practice for a doctor to take any type of measurement of the area receiving the grafts to make a determination of how many grafts for the procedure? Multiplying the area to be filled by a density factor sounds reasonable. My experience not only didn’t include any sort of formal way to determine the graft count, but it was the clinic manager (not the doctor) who first said I would need 3,000 grafts (recessed lateral parts of hairline). The doctor went along with that number, and I wasn’t given any reason for the 3k, when I pushed back that I thought it was too high, was told (again by the clinic manager) that anything less would not look right. So I reluctantly went along with it. Am I way off here thinking there should have been some formal way to determine a graft count?
  11. I had a very similar experience with Dr Camacho a couple weeks ago for my procedure. - Communication is great, travel logistics were thorough and very helpful - Very brief consultation and hairline design - Paid for package that makes it look like Dr Camacho does some amount of extractions (“Extractions: Dr Camacho & Dr Pareja”) - he didn’t. - Grafts we’re placed in an area of full density - I even specifically told him to avoid the dense middle hairline area where I have no recession. - Other questionable issues with the clinic from my perspective but I’ll create a new thread to lay out my full experience.
