I was scheduled for two days too but it only took one day! How many grafts are you planning to have?

Love your post. I had a HT with Hasson 3 weeks ago. I’m happy to see the procedure worked for someone with FINE HAIR like me. That has given me some anxiety making me worry the final outcome won’t look very dense. Your pics have relieved some of that stress. I’ll be following your journey.

Two weeks tomorrow. I feel great. Looking forward to working out again soon. And beer I get my staples in 2 days. Glory. The scabbing and crusting is a process. A layer falls off and then there’s another layer below (but it’s definitely improving). The FUT strip scar is healing well. The first week was painful/itchy but the sensations are almost all gone now. I can sleep normally now. until next week …

I had a HT from Hasson 10 days ago and I can confirm his surgical practice is completely patient centered. There is constant patient attention throughout a very long day. He is very reassuring and his nurses and technicians tend to your every need. They give lots of breaks and explain every step along the way. It’s a small suite and Hasson is always nearby. The rooms are partitioned but you can hear his voice because of the overall size of the space. I’m not a doctor so I completely trust Hasson isn’t running a surgical practice that would put my health or procedure at risk. With that I just don’t see the value in nitpicking him. And that’s why he and his team are transparent about how the day goes and everyone involved. Fortunately there are other options for patients who are looking for something else. You may have medical experience that qualifies you to question Hasson’s practice - fair enough. I don’t and all I can say is I loved the experience from beginning to end and appreciate him and his team for taking such good care of me. And like Nordster34, I got a world class hair transplant. That is why I went to him in the first place.

I didn’t care that Hasson wasn’t present at the end of my procedure. Doug already explained Hasson is always monitoring (even if you’re not aware of it). I’m not sure why the doctor has to be physically present 100% of the time. I understand it may make some patients feel better but what’s the clinical evidence it results in better outcomes?

I was really nervous about the pain from the anaesthetic injections too. The good news - I was worried for nothing. He does a number of injections but you only feel the first four. I don’t know if you’ve ever had Botox but I would say it’s slightly more painful than that. It’s like a little bee sting that dissipates fast! The nurses are great at helping you relax too. Don’t worry!!! It’ll be fine. You’ll see. The graft count should be set based on your goals, quality of donor area, your age and the degree to which your hair loss will progress. It’s not an arbitrary number you shop for. Hasson asked me what kind of hairline I wanted and then he drew a couple of options. I chose one and we went with it. He’s got a good eye for this and will help you. This is an exciting part of the process! I’m sorry to hear your surgery may be canceled. That happened to me too but fortunately Dr Hasson offered me the option of FUT as I really wanted to keep the date of surgery. I happily accepted his offer as I didn’t want FUE to begin with. I agree with you about providing a thorough and clear response to comments made by Nordster34 and others. I think with limited information and full face pics it’s easy to misjudge a hairline and temple work. I may be incorrect but I don’t believe a full face image was posted to properly judge Hasson’s design. I’m not sure most HT docs do harvesting (unless FUT) and implants - I think that’s rare. I never expected the doctor to do my implants for my HT. The doc should work with the patient to co-create the plan and design, make the incisions, do the strip (if FUT), and oversee the entire process. Otherwise it would take forever to do one transplant. I wouldn’t even consider the work of the techs lessor than the doc as this is what they do thousands of times over and over. I think Nordster34 will have a good result and I’m happy to know the clinic will do any tweaking if he desires after the final result has been determined.

GGG pl be careful comparing your case to mine. I have really wispy ultra fine hair. I think I need a lot more grafts compared to others to achieve adequate density. Which doc are you using?

Ya it seems like a lot. I think it’s because of the size of my grafts and the texture of my hair. Super super fine. He told me he wanted to do dense packing because of the density of my hair that sits behind it. But I agree with you that it seems a lot compared to other cases I’ve seen from other docs. To me, if the outcome is good then I’m happy.

Thank you, it is very exciting! I know you’re anxious about the anaesthetic injections but please don’t. I don’t think I have a high pain threshold and it’s very tolerable. Close your eyes and stretch your breath. You’ll be fine and it’s over in seconds. I’m not sure if the anaesthetic is different for FUE and FUT. Are you getting your procedure soon?

It’s been a week so I thought I’d share a couple of pics & highs/lows. Overall I’m feeling good. Exciting to see little hairs where there were none for decades. My hair is super fine so I was worried it wouldn’t work. Still have lots of crusts in recipient area. I put some conditioner on the area in the shower this morning to soften it up. Parts are clearing nicely. Trying not to be too timid/gentle but also don’t want to overdo it and create bleeding. It’s just no fun having staples in my head. Sleeping is way less than perfect but I’m on vacation so afternoon naps have been happening. May have had a reaction to the oral antibiotic - some gastrointestinal issues (will spare details). It made me feel quite weak and tired. Feeling better but still tired. Yesterday I felt a lot better but today I feel quite weak again. Two steps forward/one back. Hanging out at home and chilling. I miss beer but am reluctant to crack one while I’m still feeling weak. I keep doubting the final result and make up reasons in my head why it won’t work for me. lol Had a fair amount of swelling in forehead/face areas. Looked like a Star Trek character. But that’s all pretty much gone. I’ll share weeklies in case anyone’s interest in following a photo progression of a Hasson FUT in 2022 - especially since he’s not doing them anymore. I agree with you that his pics look great. I had a HT less than a week ago from Hasson and had a very good experience. Hasson was very collaborative with me in designing the hairline and his nurses were very caring. The entire day was efficient and professional. Even the anaesthetic needles didn’t hurt that much.

Great growth! Very youthful. Maybe I’m alone on this one but I always thought your temple work looked great. Very happy for you.

Let me respond to the good questions/comments made so far: I originally requested FUT from Hasson but as you mentioned he was only offering FUE. Fortunately/unfortunately there was a schedule shift and FUE was no longer an option for my scheduled date. In good faith Hasson offered me FUT (with a considerable discount!!). So it was a big win for me. I got my preferred doctor and procedure. No need to cherry pick fine hairs for my hairline. All my hair is very fine. Not sure why he took the strip higher up. Possibly it’s my age (I’m 56) and have fairly dense hair (without medication). The only area I experienced hair loss in was my hair line and corners. Thanks for the encouraging comments guys. Very happy with my FUT HT with Dr Hasson yesterday - 3875 grafts to hairline area. 7am - 6:15pm. Well taken care of. Todd

Thanks John1991. Hasson is known for dense packing. That was one of the reasons I chose him. I’m 56.

This is just my opinion but I think FUT quality is higher than FUE. Although some doctors like Dr Hasson are getting FUE results as good as FUT. If I get any touch ups then I’ll choose FUE (so long as the harvest is under 800 grafts). When FUE is performed for big harvests technicians have to remove grafts outside the safer zones to avoid thinning out the back of your head. Depending on how my strip scar looks after healing I may ask Hasson to put some FUEs in it since hair grows well in scar tissue. But my friend who also got FUT from Hasson has a very faint line scar which you can barely see even when he wears his hair really short and tight to the scalp. And of course I saved myself thousands of dollars for what I consider to be a better final outcome. FUE is very labour intensive and for that reason very expensive. thanks, Todd

I had an FUT 3800 graft transfer to my hairline and receding corners. Post & pre op pics attached. It looks densely packed and clean for a fresh procedure. I have fine hair so dense packing was important. Overall, I’m very happy. Dr Hasson was involved throughout the day which started at 7am and ended at 6:30pm. He and I agreed to shave my entire head, which was awesome (my first time) and then Hasson proposed two hairline options that he thought would match my facial features. I chose the lower/flatter one. He performed the strip procedure that was pretty painless for those of you how are worried. After the strip removal they discovered they were able to get more grafts than expected as my hair is naturally dense and my hair is on the finer side. Hasson performed the recipient incisions which look around 45 minutes. The techs implanted all 3800 grafts into my hairline and receded corners. There was a lunch break and frequent stretch breaks. I was finished sometime between 6:00-6:30pm. Staff were kind, the process was professional and caring and I’d recommend Dr Hasson to anyone looking for a skilled surgeon. I’m going in later today for a hair washing and I get my staples out in 2 weeks. Fortunately, they provide medications for pain, sleep and infection so you’re covered going out the door. They also give you a hat, inflatable neck pillow, pillowcase covering and shampoo. Post care information is explained well and they provide a post care pamphlet with contact phone numbers. Another nice element to the day was I didn’t have to do it alone. The team and Dr Hasson are there for you 100%. And there was another patient getting FUE - so I had someone to bond and chat with throughout the day when we were on breaks. One of the benefits of FUT is that it takes less time (and less reliant on techs). So my FUE friend still had hours to go as I was saying goodbye for the day. I don’t think anyone is questioning Dr Hasson’s FUE skills. The HT looks healthy with good density. The problem seems to be a misunderstanding between the patient and surgical team regarding design and scope of harvest. Nordster34 reported his donor areas may have been fully harvested without his approval but I don’t know if this has been confirmed by Dr Hasson. I’d like to hear how Hasson’s team responds to Nordster34’s concerns. Sending you healthy hair growing vibes!!! T
