  1. 1.immediately post op : 10 2. 3 months :7 3. 6 months :5 4. 12 months: 2 (surgery on Dec. 17th, 2008) 5. scalp sensations have not come back to pre HT levels (recipeint AND donor areas) female strip surgery 1925 grafts - top of head Dr Rahal
  2. I'm also a female. I had HT (FUT) with Dr Rahal in December 2008 (1925 grafts) and I'm extremely pleased with the results. I had thin hair all over my head ...but mostly on top which is where the HT was done. (42 sq inches) After 8 months, my "new" hair is still growing and it really is making a diffference. My hair is not as see-through as it was... I too thought that I was not a good candidate for HT but Dr Rahal felt he could help me. Feel free to ask me questions as there are not too many females here..
  3. The needles!!! ouch!!! But it does not last for very long...No pain whatsoever during surgery..
  4. I had FUT with Dr Rahal in December 2008. The pain level was at its highest on the first couple of nights. Pain medication helped a little...Lack of sleep + lots of swelling (4-5 days) made it pretty uncomfortable for the first 14 days. I wondered what I had gotten into... Then, when the sutures were taken out, things really got better: I could finally sleep through the night. Redness and itchiness lasted around 3 months. That being said, I would do it all over again...(but glad that I don't need to!) I am very pleased with my results. I have no regrets. 1925 grafts with Dr Rahal
  5. Buy a travel pillow...it will help you sleep throught the first nights...
  6. Yes, you will definitely sleep better once the sutures are out...Hang in there!
  7. I know how you feel. I'm also at the 6 month mark (surgery December 17th, 2008)...Hair is growing but for now there's not a huge difference from before...Dr Rahal told me to be patient because it could take up to a year.. We just have to be patient. Hang in there!
  8. A travel pillow really helped me sleep for the first 14 days..
  9. Thanks Wantego...yes I am a 46 year old female (not a dude and not a kid) and French speaking. I thought this was obvious with my name...sorry guys. There are not too many females here! I had HT to increase density not to cover a large bald area like a lot of you guys who go through HT + I had one particular bald spot on top near the hairline...probably due to the way I styled my hair for many years when I was younger. I really wanted this covered up with HT and as I mentioned before, I don't really see any new growth in that spot...But as I was told, 6 months is early and there are still chances that new hair will grow. That's all I wanted to know.... Thanks again for the encouragement...and I will post after pictures later...
  10. Thanks everyone..Adrian called me today...very thoughtful...I will wait it out and see.
