    Hi Everyone, we would like to present below a case of a patient at Norwood IIIa stage. Below you can find the results 12 months after the first surgery. Patient Details: 29 years old patient. The patient was using finasteride and minoxidil prior to the surgery. Surgical Plan: Hairline reconstruction, density increase in the frontal and fronto-temporal area. The surgery was performed in 1 day with 2580 grafts implanted in total. Hair type: caucasian, brown and average thick hair. 0.9mm motorised punch was used for the extraction. Graft Breakdown 1s: 350 (thin) for the hairline 2s: 1000 3s y 4s: 1230 Overall hair/graft ratio: 2.34

    Hello @Scree, Let me reply to your questions below: Is this patient currently on any hair loss prevention treatment? If so, what? Yes, the patient started to use oral finasteride and topical minoxidil after the surgery which helped to improve his native hair and stabilise the hair loss. What is the surgical plan for the second procedure? Main focus of the second surgery will be to work in the upper vertex and crown, but it is very likely that there will be some grafts implanted in the mid scalp to increase density in that area. During the consultation once the hair is shaved, Dr Gur will assess the area with the trichoscope to decide on the number of grafts to be implanted in that area. Have a good day ahead.

The patient was using finasteride and minoxidil prior to the surgery and he continued using it afterwards. Hair Thickness: 49 microns in the parietal areas and 51 microns in the occipital area. Hair Type: caucasian, dark and thin hair Number of Grafts Implanted: 2091 grafts, all of them were implanted in the hairline. However, it is important to note that only 1805 grafts were extracted, but 220 of the multiple grafts had to be dissected as the patient did not have enough singles for his hairline. 0.85mm manual punch was used for the extraction.
