I'm 37 years old. Why retrograde

One of my cousins have something similar to you. I thought it was always bad lighting under certain spots but when I think back to him when we were younger it makes sense. It might not be the case for you at all. Personally, I would always exhaust all options before doing anything surgical.

Fair to say it's similar to the before photo I think. Here's hoping the worst of ugly f*cking duckling is over..

Yeah I think the shockloss is getting better. There are a lot of vellus hairs that are really fragile but wispy... so I am guessing its the transplanted hairs.

However... my temple points are growing out from the slight grafts they added there. Also my right side has recovered some lost ground, I cant tell if its from the trauma of the surgery or the PRP (usually PRP takes time) but the few sessions I had makes me think it wouldnt happen that fast. Yet again I have been a good responder to medications so heres to the future.

Hi, all. 30-something year old female here, interested in a hair transplant. I have had PCOS for 10+ years which has caused hair loss. I've been interested in HTs on again, off again for probably 5+ years now. I did see Dr. Cooley for a consultation many years ago, as he is local to me, but ended up having to cancel the procedure. I am kicking myself for doing so back then (both because of increased prices as well as knowing I'd be more confident in my hair already if I'd gotten it done. Grrr).

In any event, I know Dr. Cooley is booked until the Spring of next year. Knowing that, do y'all have any other doctors you would recommend? I have looked at the Recommended list on this website and e-mailed Dr. Vories who is also booked until Spring of 2023. I was really hoping to get it done sooner, now that I am officially ready for it.

Also, I have not seen too many female experiences or before and afters on this site, so hoping you all might have some good suggestions for docs. I'd like to stay in the eastern US if possible, but am open to travel potentially.

    Thanks in advance!

There may not be many female cases... but there are many males with long hair who females follow very closely. I believe there are 3 female users that follow this (below) case. This case in particular is good to follow since it is an FUT case which usually isnt chosen here often due to the scar.

which is written by @washingtondc so you could probably ask him directly, or on this post about his documented journey.

If you know which procedure you want to do, whether its FUT or FUE you can probably narrow down a lot of potential surgeons, then theres the possibility of travel and budget.

I think if you dont care about price there is Konior and H&W who have magnificent results. Both are on the expensive side but have yielded some really good results. However, H&W stopped FUT but they have certain cases where I have seen them do it-- just not sure what those cases are.

There are a few other surgeons I cant remember the name one in CA and another in NY.

why would you say he is tough case? norwood 4a isnt too bad or?

I cant tell if its the lighting or if he has miniaturization around his lateral humps and below. I would always rule out retrograde or DUPA before doing anything. But even then it seems like there is still progressive hair loss.

You have someone else in mind that does a better job around same price?  I understand that HT done by actual doctors cost $20k, but some people say it's not necessary better as they only do a few of them, as opposed to technicians who do this on a daily basis.

I will never recommend someone to go based off a budget. But there are alternative options in Turkey that are mentioned around here. However, they have raised their prices, look around what people here have gone to and compare the results to your own. No matter where you go its still a gamble because nothing is 100%. But you can definitely maximize a better environment and results based on better surgeons. You just have to do your own research, which takes time and patience.

if it would snap back very quickly it would mean the skin is very elastic?

tbh what wonders me that the "skin elasticity" test of hasson looks very different to the one in picture

Yes it it snaps back that means your skin is elastic for its size. For example... look up skin dehydration test on finger and see the results of someone whose dehydrated. Its the same concept.

  7. This might be a tough case.

Personally, if you havent already tried medical therapy I would start that.

If you already have been on medical therapy, perhaps your genetics are predisposed to androgenetic alopecia and a HT might not be for you. I cant really say... I would speak to your derm what they think and see if they can rule out any lab tests while youre still local. Perhaps get a few consultations and ask a few HT surgeons (konior, H&W, Bisanga, Mwamba) what they think and what their plan of action is.

It is not even known if he is a doctor, I have never seen anyone who has been operated by him personally, it seems that he only does it with famous people, but I am not 100% sure, of course it is that he has created a great business, the his clinic is one of the best hair mills in Istanbul, every year thousands of people come to him from all over the world, especially Italians (he is very well advertised by an Italian forum), he has a travel agency that organizes daily trips to his clinic, 15/20 guys a day, and if he cannot accommodate everyone in his clinic, he rents rooms in the hospitals of Istanbul, where, after an interview (indeed he does not even speak, nor does he give the opportunity to do so) of 5 / 10 minutes, during which he draws the hairline, he entrusts you to one of his many teams.  Personally, I have seen excellent results from guys who have had surgery in his clinic, but know that you are going to play Russian roulette.

  9. If money is not an issue… I would say Konior in the US, to anyone regardless of hair type.

for Afro hair I would say Mwamba or Bisanga since they seem reputable with many people. Do some research and post some images to get better reviews with your case.

also are you on any medication? Do you prefer FUT over FUE, etc.

True man I appreciate it. I checked out your page and your results look like they are gonna be super good.
its interesting because in some lighting it seems like the growth has pretty much fully happened, it seems like it just needs to mature

Well it doesn’t seem like you have much shed around. Everything is blending together slowly, this is especially rare to see. So it does seem like you have everything, but trust me there’s definitely more hair coming as time passes.

there are also some cases where some pre-existing miniaturized hair will grow back because of the blood supply damage done to your skin. So everything that surrounds the area ha potential to regrow for a little. It’s kind of like how PRP works, except your body is just healing the whole area instead of targeted areas. (It’s not permanent but it could enhance the current growth to falsely give a different perspective). But here I think it’s all your hairs coming together.

    Hi man,
Well no that wasn't me honestly I never had a video follow up but I can honestly say that I was so surprised that the results started really showing past 1 year.
I remember I used to Whatsapp the clinic during months 4, 6, 8 - results are poor.

If you're interested in seeing photos I'll upload some to show what I mean

hell yea man I would really like to follow that case. If its easier I can PM you, let me know what works best for you.

That’s true, honestly on the post op rollercoaster haha. Thanks for commenting man

Yea man I completely understand how youre feeling. You have way better results than I do (obviously youre 4months in) but the amount of hair and trauma that you had was signficantly more than mine. I think for the amount of damage your hair has received you look very good for where you are at. I am very interested in your case and I am actually glad you went with FUT seeing your "scar."

Its always nice to see banger results. Im just going to guess that month 7 maybe 7.5 is where majority of your hair will sprout. But only time will tell.

Here’s a couple photos, I was wondering if the top sides/lateral humps were thinning or looking off? Also if I could get your opinion on the left side of my hairline which would be on the right side looking at the photo, I was wondering if the couple of clumps of hair looked off?

Nah I wouldnt say it looks weird. Its what 4 months of recovery looks like for an FUT procedure. Plus your hairs looking like its blending in together nicely. Its probably something you would need to re-evaluate once you hit 12+ months since the healing is different for everyone.
