Was this an in person consultation or just online? Because real graft count won't be determined until day of procedure, so you're only left with an estimate until real measurements are taken, but yeah 1500 seems low. I had less recessed temples and still needed 1590 grafts.

I'm going to go with a super optimistic view. Most have successful results (at least for their standards). They don't need to ask any follow up questions, and they don't care about showing their hair anymore to random people online. We're hair transplant university, once you graduate, do you really need to come back? Got a PHD in full head of hair, what more is there to do here for those people? Could take pride in being an alumni and show school spirit, helping out students on their journey...or not.

Yeah, I know. Diep definitely gets the benefit of the doubt for having seemingly hundreds if not more successful cases, since if he can't get the benefit of the doubt, then who can? I do see how maybe his customer service isn't A tier, but that's not the worse thing.

Diep looks great, however I found this somewhat old thread that goes on forever, and there seems to be questionable things discussed from the OP and other commenters. I've only read like 5% of it, but it's a bit wild ride.

Yikes. I understand clinics that are considered some of the best can charge what they want, but damn, that is simply insane. Price isn't necessarily the priority of a transplant, but when prices are so unusually high, it does hurt. I think 28k could cover going to the best clinics in Turkey like 5 times over or multiple transplants at very good clinics elsewhere in America.

Yeah, that's among the highest cost per graft in the US (have personally not seen any clinic charge more than that). Diep also gave me $10 per FUE graft for 1500 grafts. $6-$8 per FUE graft is the norm in the higher cost of living areas of America, cheaper cities can also have cheaper clinics as well.

Gotta make those clickbait videos to get views, however he actually does not use the ARTAS, and he made a pretty good video stating the reasons he thinks robots like the ARTAS are not yet good enough (also saying how most top clinics don't use robotics either). Manual tools like the WAW seem to be where it's at. I think it was a very informative video, definitely different than the reacting to X celebrity type of video.

I only got a 5-10 month estimate, and it didn't seem like I could be on the cancellation list unless I put down a deposit and schedule the procedure.

Had my consultation, 1500-1750 grafts. Not bad amount of grafts (every other American clinic also between 1500-2000). Cost $15,000 at least for the 1500 grafts FUE. $10,000 for FUT. Definitely pricey, but my concern wasn't price instead how soon. He said 5-10 months, but if I were to book it and put down $1,000, I could be put on cancellation list like you mentioned (re-scheduling), and sounds like there are a decent amount of cancellations, he said there was one December 21st (already taken of course), but I do feel like that's a gamble, as once we're done with the holiday season, cancellations probably will decrease. 5 months isn't a terrible wait though.

I have family member who lives like 40 minutes away, somewhat doable drive. Probably would stay with them for a few days. Anyway, consultation is in a few days, very eager to hear how soon I could get it done.

I have a consultation with him Wednesday (I think I scheduled the consultation September), I've been getting 1500-2000 graft estimates from every other American clinic, he would probably be around the same. If he would be available in January I would absolutely try snatching that up. From what I see with so many of his cases, people's hair post transplant can look better than it probably ever did pre balding in terms of design, density, etc... Add in the fact I'm less than an hour and a half drive away from his location makes him super appealing. Even if he ends up costing 4-6k more than other clinics, I think that doesn't matter, however waiting until potentially summer 2022 is too long. I've already been on minoxidil 21 months, finasteride 15 months, ready to be done with this hair loss stuff.

How long did was the wait between consultation and procedure? I hear it's often 6+ months out, possibly upwards of a year. However I also heard there can very likely be cancellations, so out of no where you'll get a couple week notice if you want an earlier appointment.

Quite the opposite. I don't want to get a botched result. I flat out said maybe Crose isn't good. Yes I speculated OP didn't get enough grafts or that Crose could be better now, but seriously, no, I am not defending Crose. I am surprised that was your takeaway after all I said. Emphasis on all, not just the first couple sentences of mine. I am doing my due diligence and searching every forum imaginable for discussion on Crose, since he really doesn't have many reviews or discussion. A hair transplant is a major life long thing, forgive me for caring and wanting to get it right the first time Now, this will sound like defending but needs to be said. OP's result doesn't even seem horrifically terrible. OP admits he knew density would be lacking first comment of this thread due to his recession. Additionally, I looked at first transplant post from late 2019, someone there literally said it looked like he needed more grafts. I don't know what the conversation was between him and the surgeon, expectations, etc.. I have had 10+ consultations (America/Turkey), and I have a consolation with perhaps one of the best in North California (Diep) next week. Even Diep has negative reviews with patients not liking their results. It's all about finding who will be best for you.

Hey there. Any status updates on what you decided to do? I also live somewhat close to Josh Crose and was thinking of going with him. He says all the right things on his site, youtube videos, and the consultation. He's very affordable by American standards (price isn't the most important of course). I'm a 25 year old Norwood 3 with some temple recession that I would like to solve (density is pretty important). I've been getting 1500-2000 graft estimates from clinics here in America (Crose said the same). He said he would do 45 grafts per square centimeter, which I think is in the normal range of most clinics, but I also have heard 50. Here are my temples https://imgur.com/a/uhSqfP8 I like his before/after results on his site/instagram in terms of design and hair placement, however it seems somewhat common that the density is possibly a little lacking, and discovering your post makes it seem like a trend with him. I don't know if his after posts are too soon after the transplants, or that he goes for a natural thinner look for older guys (playing it too safe?). He could also not be experienced/good enough. Perhaps fast forward to present day and years of more experience he's much better, but that seems risky to just assume. Maybe the fact his estimate is right in line with every other clinic is a good sign? Also some of the after pics on his insta he says in the description 1 of 2 procedures, meaning it's understandable density is lacking. Did you shop around before deciding with Crose? I'm only filling in my temples to achieve baseline look, you moved your hairline up, which does make 2300 grafts not seem like enough considering I'm getting upwards of 2000 estimates for what I think is a smaller procedure. Lastly, did you follow up with Crose? Does he offer any discount or free touchups for suboptimal results? Was it understood you would have a good amount of density in the new hair?
