I dont wanna start the drug dabate here what is good for health or what not, but i have this question.

I just had my hair transplant and i would like to know after what time it would be considered save to take again MDMA or LSD drug on a party maybe? Cant find any information about this on the internet. Do those drugs affect hair growth, results? Thanks for your answers.

Do you actually think some scientists got together and studied the effects of acid on hair transplants?

I'm coming up on 3 months, still looking worse that pre-op.

Biggest issue is a bald spot in the front which makes the use of Dermmatch and Toppik challenging.

I started oral minoxidil about 2 weeks ago, so hopefully that helps.

The below pics were taken over the last week or so in varying lighting.

Just curious how you are able to get oral minoxidil? Are you going through prescription with your hair transplant doc?

Left a Yelp review for Diep today and several hours later, someone posted a 5-star review that sounds very similar to those hit-and-run reviews that are occasionally left for Diep. Last Yelp review he had before me was about a month ago. This is too much of a coincidence, right?

That’s weird that Yelp actually approved that one review individual. Yelp has algorithms that filter out reviews like that or if they come from certain IP addresses. Diep must have some work around to be able to do that.

Although we have always been told that transplanted hair is DHT resistant a lot of research is showing up that claims that the recipient area has a significant impact on the transplanted hairs. This means that oftentimes after 4-5 years, the transplanted hair themselves will begin to thin. For example, this study https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC8061642/ found that 91% of people in the study who got a transplant had increased thinning in their transplanted hair after 4 years. This video explores this in depth: Removed

For people who have had a transplant at least 4 years ago, how has the transplanted hair held up?

This is kind of weak research for a few reasons. 112 subjects seems like "alot" but really you need to do this in the thousands to have a better statistical significance. 4 years is way too short of a study to give longevity results. Also, and this might just be the majority of people that they pulled from, why are they all of Indian-Asian descent? You need a mixed race of hair transplant patients. Maybe one ethnicity has better or poorer results, or even where they got their hair transplant from. I dont know who reviewed the papers that get published but this one was very weak.

I remember you mentioned you were planning on making a thread at your one year mark. I'd like to see your photos/results and I'm sure others would too. It'd be beneficial for the community.

I wanted to, but in light of all the drama about diep, and what that reddit mod did on here, i'm not going to. I don't want to be part of that TBH.

I was reading on this article https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/15988072/ and they claim prescription of antibiotics after hair transplantation is unnecessary if the clinic follows strict adherence to the aseptic rules. What are your thoughts? Do all dr's prescribe it? I've seen that all turkish clinics do it.

"7 cases of SSI and central necrosis were occurred in the third group" So you're telling me that you would take that risk if you were one of those 7 people where necrosis occurred? You really would risk the success of your hair transplant or even possible death by not taking antibiotics because one paper told you it was unnecessary?

Yes, they suggested taking about 800 beard grafts to use for my scar. I'm an Asian guy but I'm lucky in a sense that I can grow somewhat of a beard if I wanted to, so that should help me in the future if my crown keeps going.

I think the first transplant was okay. I wish I had done more research, but at that time, I just thought I was one of those guys who'd need a second pass to achieve full density. It was only after the second procedure failed and there was barely any density where I feel justified for some sort of refund. I still don't know the refund amount. They may only offer 20% or something. We'll see...

I didn't ask for specifics but he said he would not be using beard hair, so I'm assuming he'd get grafts from my donor with FUE

gotcha. my transplant with Diep came out decent, but the scar is crazy wide, wanted to get it fixed.

So I had my one-year review with Dr. Diep a few days ago. I don't really want to get into too much detail about the call, but he initially offered me free scar revision and then later offered free 800 grafts to add density to the previously transplanted areas. Since this was my second procedure with him and with unsatisfactory results, I didn't want a third procedure and he later offered a partial refund. I've emailed their staff to discuss the refund but haven't heard back yet, which is understandable.

I guess that's all I have left to post in this thread. I'm at least glad Dr. Diep was able to offer a partial refund. Right now, I'm looking to get a repair done with Eugenix in 2023 or 2024, which would increase density and revise my wide FUT scar.

How did he say he was going to repair your fut scar? Like FUE from the back of your head into the scar or what?

If you knowingly falsify your tax return, the worse that can happen is prison time. It is rare but sometimes they do it to set example.

They wont take you to prison they will basically tell you to pay it back and if you dont then they fine you. Prisons are too packed for minor tax frauds like a hair transplant. Its not a multimillion dollar situation.

Wondering if anyone here has successfully gotten a tax write-off or refund for their hair transplant? Or any type of financial benefit?

FYI I am American who has paid 16k euros to Mwamba, plus 4k euros to Belgium for the VAT tax.

I wish hair transplants were covered by insurance. My upcoming repair procedure doesn't feel 'elective' or 'voluntary' at all. My desire to remove horribly angled grafts and have natural-looking hair isn't a frivolous aesthetic pursuit in my opinion.

I will be claiming my second hair transplant as a business expense. If you own and operate a business you can attempt to write off anything, as long as you have good reason to. If you get audited then all you have to do is pay it off, its no big deal.

  11. I had a procedure from diep and have ok results. I still have to have another procedure done to correct some of the mistakes made by diep and his technicians. I used to really defend Diep previously, but it got hard to do that as more and more results and experiences from other patients came out similar or worse than mine. I will eventually make a post after my second transplant to detail both experiences i have had.
