  1. This is the weird thing... I know some healthy people who eat well and exercise daily, and they've pretty much gone bald... then I know people who don't take vitamins, drink a lot of alcohol and do the occasional drugs, and have a full thick head of hair with a ridiculously low hairline, women included. I really think genetics play 95% of the role. Most other things you hear may be fluff. Though it's always good to eat right and take care of your body. Hair or not, you'll feel healthier and a lot more energized
  2. Propecia was way too much for me to handle... it took me about a week to get back to normal. I, too, had pain in that special region... it also numbed there, and both of my legs, and it was tough to get up and walk. It felt like I was suddenly double my normal body weight. I'm glad I tried it, though. If you're worried about hair loss, I'd say go and try Propecia for a few days and see how badly it affects you. If it's too much, you can always stop it before you take too much of it.
  3. We probably won't see anything for about a decade or so... it's been about ten years since hair cloning was announced and just getting into planning and trials... 2009, there are trials with inconsistent growth patterns and other complications. It's going to take a while. I just hope we get to see it in our lifetime, a real cure for both men and women. It's so close, yet so far away... kinda depressing really. Pray for a miracle.
  4. Looks like there's no results to me. I'd rather wait for hair cloning =P
  5. I was affected within 2-3 days... badly. Ohh it's definitely possible =P
  6. That's interesting, but Choi charges $450, though he does two treatments spaced out by 2-3 months. Doesn't Dr. Feller do one?
  7. I've seen one person have shedding after a few years of taking it, but shedding usually occurs within 6 months to a year.
  8. If I'm a candidate for this, I'll surely take pictures too... I can't see why the heck you wouldn't want to.
  9. I use a flat iron, and it works really well. Problem is, it needs to be a fairly expensive iron ($100 or so) compared to the $20 in stores. Chis work great, but be careful not to damage your hair! Also I must try what Hairy Godmother has recommended =P
  10. If this were the case, and it can also prevent miniaturization for good (here's hoping!), beginning-to-balders like me can get this with a possible HT and be satisfied.
  11. Well, I sent some pictures to Dr. Feller... PRP seems like my last hope to strengthen and keep what I have. If this can replace Propecia, then I'll be glad to give this a go. Also, do any of you guys think PRP could help prevent a little bit of shock loss, if a HT were to be done?
  12. Dakota - are you currently on Propecia or anything like that?
  13. Definitely try Propecia at least once and see if it gives you bad sides. Rogaine (minoxidil) is messy though, not sure you'll want to keep doing that three times a day every day for the rest of your life. Good luck, and let us know what you decide to try.
  14. This would be so nice if it really worked that well. After a few months, we should see how well it actually helps the patients.
  15. Haha, advertising. Also, my friend had something like this. Unfortunately it did nothing for him, though his hair loss was pretty advanced.
  16. Just had a bad experience with taking the drug. It's too powerful for me. It differs with everyone, though. It doesn't hurt to try Propecia one time. If it really destroys you after a couple of days, the drug might not be for you. Some people report no side effects. Some unlucky few like me lose feeling in their lower body, including legs. Keep us updated whatever you decide to do.
  17. Ooh, the page I happened to skip had the pictures. Hopefully the price won't skyrocket if this proves to work well. Thanks
  18. Thanks Ceasar08, Since such a small amount affected me so badly in just one day, I'm not believing I'll be magically immune to the drug's side effects in a few months... also, who knows if it will be even effective for what it's supposed to do. I'm not knocking the drug, I knew it would kill my sex drive and I wouldn't be able to get it up. I wasn't prepared for worse. Maybe hats can be my friend for the next few years until something great comes along. Anyways, I'll certainly not be taking it today, but discuss this with my dermatologist ASAP. Thanks so much for the replies, guys. This is a bit frustrating, and I really appreciate your words.
  19. PRP... I'm not exactly sure since there isn't any clear photo evidence this works. I mean, I've seen the dead mouse picture with some hair, but will it produce quality human head hair? How will you control the hairline. If it's an injection, wouldn't it be nice to be able to grow any kind of hair? Colored? Or straight, instead of wavy/curly? But I know, I know, that's pushing it. Honestly, I really hope this takes off soon... I'd love to not have to take Propecia... and not have to get a hair transplant when I'm like, 23 or 24. I see there's been news about the PRP injections dated back to 2007, and really start to appear in early 2008, but not a lot since. I'll be crossing my fingers for some good news. And my arms. And legs. And eyes. Thanks for the reply though, brentipold. I'll keep checking back for progress.
  20. Hey guys, I took one half pill of Propecia on Monday evening... I'm supposed to take another half later today (Wednesday), but I'm not sure if I should. I expected the low sex drive/not being able to get it up, but today I felt drained. I could barely stand up. It felt like my upper body weighed twice as much as normal; I feel extremely weak from the waist down. Now this next part isn't for young eyes... ---------------- Feeling completely numb and weird down there, of course I had to check it out and see if it looked weird. It did. It looks severely anorexic, with huge veins bulging out. If I lightly touch one, it feels like a pin is going through it. Naturally, this scares the hell out of me, especially since I haven't read anything like this reported before. Also, it hurts every so often when I try to walk. I tried to make an appointment with my dermatologist ASAP, but they're closed until freaking Monday... So I turn here for a bit of advice. Have you had or heard of anything like this before? Should I continue with the regular dose till I see him? I will take in any information you guys can give before judging whether or not I should continue. Thanks.
  21. Haha, I'm up far too early so I missed that =P Also thanks for the reply. Did it actually go away completely for you? I don't mind if it affects it a little bit, but last night, my boyfriend and I had quite a lot of trouble, then decided to stop and do something else. I just feel kind of numb from the waist down, and a bit cloudy minded. Not sure if that's from the pill, but I hope that goes away too. I'm a bit scared and jittery, but trying my best to stay positive. *slaps self* Stay strong!
  22. My pill is orange... and it's destroyed my drive so far. I've been on it for just two full days, and it's already scaring the hell out of me. I'm staying optimistic for the next few months though. If this keeps up, I don't know what I'll do :\ I must say you've very lucky.
  23. Just started taking 1mg Propecia today... well, one half Monday, Wednesday and Friday... even though I've had the prescription for about a month, it took a while for me to say screw it and go for it. I'll keep track of any progress and take pictures once a month, and upload the ones that show some improvement. Thus my hair journeys begin... Thanks for everything so far, guys!
