Hey…. I took your advice and reached out to Dr Ball, Dr Mani and another Dr that was recommended on this forum Dr Miln. I’m still waiting to hear back from Dr Ball, Dr Mani I have a consultation with him on Monday and a video call with Dr Miln too.
I've had a consultation with Dr Jyotsna Kumari at the Liverpool Hair Transplant Clinic, she sent me some pictures of female patients she has worked on, has anyone heard of her? Her Trust Pilot reviews are all good but her google reviews are hit and miss.I've also reached out to Eva Proudman.
I’d steer clear of Kumari. Kyle Christie went to her and ended up having to go to Feriduni for repair work. He’s done a few podcasts about his experience. There’s better options in the UK.

Great write up thanks. I’m definitely going to book a consultation. I look forward to following your case. Hopefully more members start to post their experiences of Dr Miln on the forums now….
The clinic looks quite grandiose from the videos and photos. I remember visiting a few clinics last year on Harley St and the spaces seemed quite small / rent a room esque...I follow his socials closely and he’s also in the process of setting up his own clinic in Wales. I think you’ve made a great choice . Excited to see your progress 👍🏻

The clear cobblestoning is alarming to say the least.
Hopefully Eugenix can chip in here and offer some sort of solution. I’ve seen some stellar results over the years from them but recently as they’ve expanded the quality isn’t as consistent. They should offer you a top tier repair free of charge in my opinion.

It’s an advantage for sure. I remember between months 7-11 of my own transplant when my hair was coarse and curly the volume and density looked off the scale
Mine reverted back to my own natural hair texture after a year and the result was still very good but nevertheless an eye opener. It’s a real advantage to have textured / coarse hair when having a transplant.
With the right Dr hair type isn’t the be all and end all either, research as ever is key. The ‘wow’ results are certainly easier to obtain in regions which see coarse , curly hair being the default hair type of the locals. Something you should factor in when comaring Dr’s and results.

I don’t think he looked too bad before hand but once you see the final result it’s a Wow. Looks infinitely better 👏🏻

Coming along nicely. Man I’ve never rooted for someone as much as I am for you in this thread. What an experience you’ve been through , you deserve this success 🙏🏼

Following this one with interest. Hopefully we now have a rising star in the UK transplant game.
For too long there was only a small handful of competent Dr’s operating in the UK. Now we have some solid choices spanning right across the country.
Historically we tended to have a large number of sub par clinics operating just beneath the surface. Gaining traction through direct marketing without coming under much scrutiny. A murky business model that destroyed countless scalps.
Today we have an increasing number of new era surgeons who have studied the craft and become very good in their own right. Importantly they have opened themselves up to the various communities online which brings added scrutiny. Dr Mani is one of those and should be applauded.

No issue as payment usually goes towards the surgery if you agree to proceed. Time is precious for a Dr after all. If you want a serious evaluation then I think it’s reasonable to pay a fee.
These surgeons are often getting 100s of requests a week. It’s a good way of helping sort which cases are serious and those which are time wasters.

Dr custodio is a good surgeon but sorry to say your approach towards finding a good surgeon is totally wrong
Undergoing surgery is a significant decision that will impact your life indefinitely, so it's crucial not to hastily rush into it. Instead, take the time to carefully select a surgeon whose outcomes align with your preferences and who understands your objectives and aspirations, rather than settling for someone simply because they are readily accessible.
I hope this helps you. Good Luck.
Perfectly put
The result is going to last a lifetime remember.

It does appear to be very selective:
Hopefully someone more knowledgeable than me can say exactly why as I believe there are a small number of other UK based surgeons that have very good results and are not on there, Dr Farjo, Dr Tam and Dr Reddy for example.
I've only just started my research journey but IAHRS seems to hold more recognition over other societies.
Someone, please correct me if I am wrong.
Lists can he useful but I wouldn’t let them be your final deciding factor. That should always be your own eyes (this is where research of cases is key) and the feel you get from a surgeon. As above plenty don’t appear on these lists who are world class operators.
For example on the IAHRS website there’s 1 surgeon from Spain and none from Portugal. It’s an open secret those regions are blessed with some of the best surgeons in the world.

Absolutely , he’s 77 years old after all.
Arnold similarly had work done about 10 years ago to refine his hairline. Since then granted he looks to have lost more native hair but it’s still a nice look for a 76 year old. I’d be delighted to still rock such a defined frontal third into my 8th decade!

He definitely had a hair transplant/s. Look how low the hairline is. Tilhis wasn’t done last week obviously.
I recall he went from jet black to grey almost overnight. I suspect his last transplant was done around this period as it coincides with it.
Looking at his hair 10-15 years ago he had clearly already had some work done at that point too. (or was wearing a piece)

Hey guys. Being a high Nowrood, I have added Eugenix and Dr. Bicer to my list, along with Dr. Pittella. My consult with Dr. Pittella was great. Haven't reached out to Eugenix yet. Did reach out to Dr. Bicer last week. Sent her a message through this forum and also through her site, but no response yet. I am sure it's just a matter of them being busy. Totally understandable. For those who have had consults with Dr. Bicer, any idea what the average response time is?
Thanks,
Z
I’d re send if you haven’t had a response
Dr Bicer only operates on 1 person a day, they’re such a small clinic that I think they sometimes get a little snowed under with requests. This time of year more so when the ‘Best’ lists for 2024 are published.

Thank you for the information! I'll send them an message tomorrow!
Thats a very long wait! Do you know apprimately how much Dr Pinto charges / graft?
It was around the €3.5 mark in 2023 . Not sure if prices have changed this year.

You’re ahead of schedule. I wouldn’t worry about density until at least months 10-12 when the final result takes shape.

I think yes it’s a real thing and makes sense. But there’s also other factors in place which can be attributed to other things too. For example there’s a possibility when harvested grafts were damaged. They subsequently grew but later died off.

@Gatsby would be great.

You know the initial podcast was over 2 hours long. He got so detailed and passionate about the topics. I could probably talk to him for hours. He should be recommended. But, he is worried that if he joins he may not be able to keep up with the demand. Regardless, I highly recommend him. End of the day, I want to highlight doctors that do the best work.
1/3 of the way through, man what a great guy. He radiates positive energy.

If you do go down the much cheaper generic route stick to the same brand.
The tablet can be compounded differently brand to brand which potentially impacts consistency. I’ve seen numerous people attribute changing finasteride brands to inducing large sheds
-
Pittella hands down. You know exactly what you are getting when you go. His new Norwood scale also gives you a tailor made procedure.
Eugenix have been a great option in the past but recently I’ve seen a few questionable results. The involvement of more junior techs would alarm me.

Can only echo the above posts.
My most rapid period of hairloss was from around 27-30. Between 16-25 I had recession but it remained relatively stable. 20 is way to young to consider surgery.
I know you want a fix now but please trust this forum. It’s a collection of people who have gone through hair loss and are speaking from experience. In the long run you’ll be grateful (even if right now this isn’t what you want to hear).

They are all great choices and you cant go wrong with any of them. Personally i would choose couto because he seems to achieve more with less grafts compared with the other three doctors. But again all 4 seem to produce great results.
This would be my own preference too, fantastic results and Couto is also very economical with grafts. Like you say in your original post the waiting time may be excessive, I guess it then boils down to how long you’re prepared to wait.
I prefer Pekiner to De Freitas. Long term as hair thins with age I think they’ll look more natural than rows.
Not sure on Larwong he’s very new to me. He’s results seem good on here but he’s not been around long enough for me to make a strong judgment. That’s not to say he’s a great surgeon and only my personal thinking. -

Reddy is certainly one of if not the best in the UK. His prices although high seem to have come down a little now. Pretty sure at one point he was charging per hair rather than graft which seemed crazy (Imagine a 5 hair graft cost 🤣)
