I tried finastride about 10 years ago, for the duration of 2 years or so.

I had a bit of decreased sexual drive, and on some days my head would feel like "blank.." and get the sort of "brain-foggines" where I can't think clearly. After I stopped, these problems didn't surface again for 10+ years till now.

I'm considering going back on it.. and I was just talking to a eugenix consultant where he suggested it's all psychological (where if we worry about side effects, more likely we get the side effects, so positive mindset is more important).

    What do you guys think?

Hi, I had some side effects before I even knew they existed.
Lower libido was the primary one.  But it's nothing life changing.  I can still 'perform' when need be.

  2. I went to a hair mill in Turkey called "Elithair" and am content with the results for the price (Something like 2400 Euro).  They actually have German branches I believe German men are the main clients.  It might be worth discussing a transplant with them but please be aware that it will be done by a tech team and if you went over you could have a completely different tech team than mine.

But just know your donor is not infinite, and if you get a botched transplant then it would cost more to fix it than it would if you went to a good clinic the first time.  Eugenix has high praise on this form for affordability and results.

Lighting is definitely a big culprit and why i think a 2nd pass is usually necessary too if possible, because in the Summer for example, it completely exposes HT's built on the illusion of density.

I can only dream we get those unlimited clone grafts within the next few decades. Restock donors and have a well for multiple hair transplants packed at native density almost.

The biggest worry I have regarding a second transplant is damaging grafts from the first. :)

Seems too risky, but I might be overthinking it.

  4. Another example of how pictures can be deceiving.  These are taken on the same day, same room, same hour.
    The only difference is that I'm standing under a heavy light in the second image;

However, ANYTHING is an improved over what you used to have. :)
Hair transplants can definitely make someone look like they have a full head of hair!

But just know that lighting can be an enemy.

Yes thanks for the reply I did see your post. The only issue with that was I wasn’t able to tell how often people were washing. As mentioned if it’s every three days I am seeing lots more which makes sense but is scary but just need to accept it is probably normal and my mind seemingly make me worry it’s worse case scenario again

Used to wash every day and got 20 hairs or so each time, it's safe to assume after three days it will be 60!

I wouldn't worry about it honestly. :) It seems quite normal.
YouTube has a lot of videos discussing this topic with experiments also.  Guys that have really thick hair counting how much they lose each day.etc.

Thanks for the response. I also feel as though I was slightly tricked but I am at a point where I do not want to take if off unless I got surgery. How was it traveling to Turkey? I am from the US so I am a little nervous about that.

I think any young male that's encouraged to get a hair system due to a receding hairline is definitely being tricked.
Especially since the hairline of a hairsystem is the worst part of the over all look!
You can almost never expose the hairline as it looks too obvious that it's a hair system.

Personally I travelled from Ireland to Turkey (solo).
Met the prepaid clinic transporter at the airport and was looked after very well since.  Never felt worried or lost at any point.

If a clinic is worth going to abroad, you should definitely travel.

I recommend watching some YouTuber vlogs of transplant journey process to have a better understanding of what to expect.

  7. Sure! I was tricked into a hair system at a very young age (I think 20-21?) all for a receding hairline,
I got sick of the time and paranoia around wearing a system.

No matter how well it is, you're fooling everyone but yourself, which will always give you that insecurity that someone might notice.

(Here's a 4 year old photo of the system)
    image.png.4eb3a8e2bf80f88a86b071bb4e039fca.png

The glue and take was always a nightmare to deal with, and it was expensive to get a new system every quarter!

Decided to take it off for good, got very depressed about hair loss and lost a lot of weight.

I was only around 53kg in that photo.

Started Finasteride a year later and noticed a difference in density in my crown area, so investigated getting a hair transplant for my hairline.

Safe to say it changed my life for the better!
I was no longer insecure and depressed.  I was able to carry on with life like I used to. :)
To compare now, I'm a much more confident person.

(Quoting an older post of mine) "Sitting at 72kg, I go to the gym now, have made friends that I wouldn't have otherwise due to self esteem issues.
Much happier person overall and any mental health issues due to hair loss has passed."

I do not have the money for that unfortunately.

@SeanTomanI do think I respond well to finasteride, I have never had a side effect and have been taking for 5 years. I also think it has kept my hair despite having a system. I enjoy FUECapilar's results a lot and they are what I would want for my outcome.

    Amazing!
I wore a system myself for a couple of years, never believe what they say about it being healthy for you scalp though!

  9. Yes, you should wear a loose cap on your head for the first week or two if you're in the sun.
Swimming should be avoided as a hair transplant is considered a wound.  I think the recommended wait is 2 months.  You'll increase the risk of infection.

(Admittingly I went shoulder deep into the ocean at the beach at around 1 week after a hair transplant but didn't get any infection).

  10. You'll be waiting at least nine months until you have enough density to attempt curtains I think.

People get different results, but curtains does seem like a stretch.  Personally I keep a slight one sided curtain, but nothing more due to thinness.
If I try to split my hair down the middle for a set of curtains, it looks rather thin.

Regardless, if you have the density after a transplant then it'll definitely be possible as transplanted hair grows as long as non-transplanted.

@SeanToman this is a night and day result! Your hair looks incredibly natural. All hair transplants will have a see through look outdoors in strong lighting. Extremely happy for you man!

Thank you Gatsby! That's very kind of you to say, I really appreciate it.
I agree with you and your previous advice, that it's important to reserve grafts and not use them all at once.

The loss of density in light is just a factor of having a HT it seems.
I've been following your journey closely, really happy with how things are going for you. :)
