Literally one of the best results I've seen on this site given this was done in 1 sitting and the guy started at a really bad place.
This is like @Zoomster or @captaincalico results, except I believe those 2 required multiple procedures.
From a perfectionist POV I think the hairline could be a bit more dense.....but it looks very natural for a 45 yr old man and does not look like MPB at all.
Bonkers good result 👍
I feel flattered. Thank you very much. From my own perfectionist POV also the crown could be a little bit more dense though. The good thing is that his donor is still in pretty good conditions, hence a lot more still can be achieved if wanted by the patient. He's very happy anyways.. 😁

Off topic, but I got in touch with your office a few weeks ago (I'm from Venezuela) and any hesitation I had it's now gone I think we'll meet online in a couple or months or so, and my case might be a bit similar to this one,
I'm glad to hear that. If you have any trouble scheduling the appointment please DM me

Awesome results! This is amazing. I'd be great to see an update from this case and what this patient transplant looks like more recently.
Asked him and he just sent me these pictures from last week.
So this is a 2 and a half years update. Tell me what you think about it ☺️

Do you have any insight on DHEA's ability to increase DHT? I imagine it works probably very similarly to creatine if not even more strongly. I loooove supplementing with 5mg a day of DHEA
I'll try to check about DHEA impact on DHT

Creatine is proven to cause native hair thinning? Good to know will jump off of this if confirmed
Check out this article. See how creatine increases DHT dramatically.
https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/19741313/
It was published in the Clinical Journal of Sports Medicine in 2010. I understand that this articles objective is not to evaluate hair loss but DHT behavior. However it give us a hint on what creatine does to AGA. I also understand that more trials are necessary to enlight this topic.

does that mean its not a true 0.75 most likely
That is correct. However this is not by their fault. Most manufacturers claim they're selling a .75 diameter punch when it is really not this diameter. Or they claim this is the "internal diameter" when what really matter is the external diameter (which will determine the hole size).
There is an article by Brazilian HT surgeon Dr Mauro Speranzini where he compares the diameter of the most popular manufacturers of HT instruments and found out that only Trivellini and WAW punches had the exactly diameter they claimed to have. I'll try to find it and put the link here.

I just wondered how would you define: bad donor, average donor, and good donor? thanks!
my subjetive impression of volume, density, shaft thickness
I understand that there are plenty of devices to evaluate donor area such as K-bot or regular dermatoscopy. I use them rarely.

so what I can understand from your words is that the survival rate is no different from other hairs,
This lack trial confirmation though.

Okay @Dr. Felipe Pittella- As I mentioned, these results are outstanding.
Now that we have seen a couple of NW7 results from you, including the guy with 'poor' donor and thin hair, would you say that these are atypical results or what could and should generally be expected for someone with at least somewhat moderate donor and several thousand beard hairs to spare.
In other words: I will only "offer" my surgery skills to a case if I'm certain to give this kind of result to the patient (using the right strategy). No luck at all.

Thanks for asking! Those results are not atypical. 😃 They're what I offer to the patients. One surgeon cannot "luckly" get a good result in a high NW class. Of course a good and realistic strategy is necessary and the BHT is the key for the success of those cases.

Any post op pictures of extraction sites?
I have but there's nothing special to see there. If you really want I may post it here.
On 7/10/2022 at 5:19 PM, shiba1985 said:What is the range of punch sizes you use?
0,85 to 0,95 (***real external diameter) - I'll calling attention to the "real" diameter because there are some equipament brands that sell 0.75 diameter that are way bigger than 1mm.
On 7/10/2022 at 5:19 PM, shiba1985 said:For the average patient, how many grafts are available from their donor area?
Average donor: around 8k. It's is possible to exctract more than that if intentional overharvesting is part of the strategy.
On 7/10/2022 at 5:19 PM, shiba1985 said:Do you feel like patients with 9K donor grafts, are only the outliers?
No. Much more common than thought
What are your concerns with your donor? DM me if you need...

Absolutely incredible, two sessions and this man has been revived. @Dr. Felipe Pittella whats your view on chest hair? What percentage does it grow. There was a discussion with @JoselitoElGallo who claimed 0% growth. Can you provide some examples and give us a approximate percentage in your practice.
well my thoughts on chest hair is that it has not the coverage value that a beard or scalp hair have thus, the same amount of grafts from this region (vs beard) will never reach the same level of coverage and result. On other words, one will need much more chest hair to have the same coverage as a few beard hair.
Well, concerning the survival rate, I'd be bold to say this but if you implant the chest follicle in anagen fase and with all it's structures undamaged, using the proper technique, I see no reason why it won't grow. Notice that extracting chest hair is much more difficult than scalp and beard hence the transection rate is much higher. Some surgeons claim they don't do chest hair 'cos they can't even extract one single graft without transection.
Considering all that was said, in my practice I use chest hair mostly for refinement, eg, baby hair, hairline naturalness, temples etc
