    4 month/Week 16 update (tomorrow) - Day 111:

Tomorrow marks 16 weeks since my HT, tried to provide a variety of pictures to show the current situation. Some are in optimal conditions and look better than reality (to be honest I feel like all the pictures in general look a bit better than reality for the most part, it's at the point where lighting and angles make a huge difference in real life and my opinion on things can change by the hour when looking in the mirror throughout the day).

As I say above, sometimes I think it's coming along great, for example when I'm facing straight on in the mirror, it looks pretty good, but then I turn my head to the side and its completely see through and I feel like I'm nowhere near where I want to be yet. Some of the pictures are in better lighting than others and look much more full, and I have included some of my hair soaking wet and slicked back out of the shower.

Overall I guess I can't complain and it's coming along nicely for the 16 week mark, just starting to get a little paranoid of whether I will be happy in the end or not, but we will see. The hairs are also really short still and just sticking straight out, probably doesn't help that the surrounding hair is so long and dense and makes it stand out more.

Let me know what you guys think - cheers!

Amazing early results man. Really pleased for you. I have mine booked in for January next year. Very excited but also really nervous already 😬. Emilio and the team have been really informative and amazing thus far. Trying to work up the courage to take finasteride at the moment.  Are you using minoxidil at all? Or will you just continue with finasteride and nizarol shampoo from now on?

Awesome that you have got yours booked in. Is this with Dr Pinto? If so buddy did you get in touch with them over email this year?

Could you DM me the number. Like I said, I've been trying for over a year now. I'll give it a try for another few months otherwise I will have to move on to another surgeon. I can't wait 2 years just trying to get in contact with someone.

Yeah he’s pretty hard to get hold of, I’ve had contact with him over Christmas but haven’t heard anything since. Maybe busy with current clients and his clinic. He replies from himself personally

No worries man - yeah they're busy and so I think they've had that automated e-mail turning patients away for a while now  (was the same response I initially got when I got in touch nearly 10 months ago), but people seem to still be getting through and getting dates booked in with a bit of persistence and actually speaking to someone.

I'll post my 3 months on Thursday!

Really appreciate you being really thorough on your responses! Will look forward to your posts bud!

    Cheers mate.

From consultation to my transplant date, I think around 8 months or so, I believe I contacted the clinic in May and then I had surgery in November. They did have some cancellation dates (two if I remember correctly) earlier than this though, I think in June or July time, but I wouldn't have been able to make it so I just took the next available one in Nov.

Cheers for the update buddy! I will give them a call through tomorrow as I just got a email back saying they are not taking any patients in who have enquired. Will look forward to your picture updates buddy

I first wrote him on April 7th in WhatsApp. I reached out to his clinic who scheduled me for consult in early December. I then reached out to him again on May 13th. He responded on May 21st. He asked for pictures which I sent back the very same day. So it does take a week to a month for him to respond sometimes. He’s very busy working an intense surgical schedule as has been highlighted by Hugo. Even having most of his patients being from Bulgaria his demand is a year’s wait for procedures. At this rate, in a few years there won’t be a single bald head in the whole country of Bulgaria! Lol. So he’s busy doing consults, procedures, and patient follow ups.

You also ought to call, text, or WhatsApp message the first number on his website. That goes to his office staff and they can help set up the consultation. His response times will get better in the next month or two when he opens his new clinic and hires his patients coordinators.

For me, personally, it was worth the wait. It gave me time to do consultation at several other highly regarded clinics. I feel the best about his results, explanations, his plan for my surgical correction and the thoroughness in his consultation.

Brilliant thank you for your detailed reply! I also heard he will be getting some patient quoordinatiors in the future.

I will try and give the office a ring tomorrow to see if I can get any availability after he’s set up in his new clinic.

    Just a couple of questions..

have you had a consultation with Dr Lupanzula? If so how did you find that?

Also, when you had your consultation with Dr Zarev does/did he mention that he uses microscopes to separate single grafts from the doubles and triples?

For me I’m astonished at Dr Zarevs work. Not only his giga sessions but how clean his work is and attention to design and detail!

Hey Woody, it went great. He's a very friendly doctor and very enthusiastic about what he does. He spent a lot of time with me showing results and describing his plan for me. Lots of pictures and microcamera pictures. Lots of measuring and calculations. He explained a little of how he is able to extract so many grafts without a depletion look. I'm planning on doing my surgery with him.

That sounds awesome!! Really good to hear how he has been through all this prior to going ahead with your surgery. I currently have sent him a email however haven’t heard anything back. What was your waiting time to hear back from him?

  8. Hi mate, just wanted to ask how Dr Zarev knows how many follicles per graft? Does he and his team use microscopes to separate singles/ doubles and so forth?

I personally have put my case forward but unfortunately I have not heard back from him.

can’t wait to see your 1 year mark!
