  1. @hairlosscpa Any update on this? I'm curious if the pigment has improved over time. Thanks!
  2. Do you know what punch he used on the donor? It looks incredible for immediate postop. The hairline also looks clean. I have a feeling this is gonna be a home run.
  3. I had it on my last of 3 days but I am only 8 weeks out. I can say I didn't have shock loss in recipient area and have had quite a few grafts (especially my beard grafts) not shed at just continue to grow.
  4. How has the oral minox 1.25mg day/night been working for you? Any changes on your hairline?
  5. I guess I'm more worried about them being dead grafts. Is it possible they never shed, until the new hair comes through?
  6. About 6 weeks today: I still have about 25% of my transplanted hairs that haven't shed. They aren't growing either, is this okay? (I have bed-head in my donor area, if I combed it the hairs would be covering my skin a little more)
  7. The hairs are too small to see visual differences. Going to give it a couple more months. No sides anymore. I had headaches and my heart skipped a few beats for a few days when I started. I do notice random additional hairs near my eyebrows but I just tweezer them off.
  8. I started June 19th, 2021 with 2.5mg every day. You'll see small hairs growing next to long hairs, I have closeup photos from a couple years back that didn't show anything like this. My entire scalp also feels prickly when I rub my hands through my longer hair so that's what got me interested in taking a closer look since I've never felt that before. I also notice that some of my hairs are long, and there are small hairs growing within the same follicle that are shorter. A couple questions from this: Are these smaller hairs new growth too, or can a single follicle have multiple hairs growing at different times? When a follicle begins to miniaturize, can one hair miniaturize first before another hair in the same follicle?
  9. Day 25. Shedding of transplanted hairs is ramping up. Looking generally thin all over and donor has seen better days. Today is also about 2 months in with Oral Minoxidl 2.5mg every day.
  10. These look great. What an improvement!
  11. Did Dr. Rogers mention why the first 2 surgeries failed? What was different with Dr. Rahal?
  12. Average 11 Days Post Op since my HT was over the course of 3 days. Removed most of the scabs. The beard hairs on the crown are now noticeable. Looking forward to those blending in once my hair has grown out a bit!
  13. That's not too bad for quality SMP. I'm planning on spending $4500 for 4 sessions.
  14. @hairlosscpaWhen doing the second, third, etc sessions, does the SMP have to be exactly on top of the previous pigments? If they're not does it turn into a larger dot?
  15. The donor area with SMP looks great, especially covering up FUE/FUT scars, it's a perfect option. For the recipient area, I'm torn. I think it shows well in photos, but in real life I'm wondering if it's as unnoticeable. I plan on getting SMP to add density to longer hair in about 6 months after my scalp has healed from my HT. I'm just imagining sitting in a car, plane, bus, or chair and a friend is behind you (typically a few feet). They will naturally be around eye level to the back of your head and glance. Will the little dots catch their eye? Unfortunately, this is my minor anxiety with it.
  16. The best results I've seen are at https://www.newportsmp.com/results. But some people on this forum think they edit their results or use concealer. I've asked one of their "nurses" if it's only SMP on their before/afters and they said yes... so 🤷‍♂️
  17. This is really encouraging. I would have expected a lot more grafts for the amount of ground to cover. Dr. Diep respected the hair direction/swirl with skill too 👏
  18. Yeah I appreciated his honesty with how many grafts I would need to fill in the hairline, it was about a few hundred under than I was expecting. Started taking finasteride in 2015, 4 weeks before my first HT with Dr. Wasserbauer. I have mixed feelings about the results: https://imgur.com/a/sxqitNl
  19. Looks great and you still have more density to come! Congrats
  20. Photos from my phone right after last day. And some close up with camera flash today in the hotel.
  21. I just completed 3 days with Dr. Kaan Pekiner in Ankara, Turkey. I won’t go into too much detail because others have already written about their experience in detail. Overall: Skilled doctor, excellent staff, and great experience all around. I have had a previous operation with Dr. Sara Wasserbauer in California in 2015 for about 1850 grafts (FUE) to my hairline. I believe I lost a decent amount of native hair since that operation and wanted to add approximately 1500 more grafts to the hairline, and 2000 grafts to the crown (1000 would come from beard) with Dr. Pekiner. 2015 Before/After 1 Year: https://imgur.com/a/sxqitNl Upon visual inspection from Dr. Pekiner, he believed that my donor area could potentially over-harvested if he went over 2000 grafts from the scalp. After charting my hairline, he came up with it needing around 1400 grafts, with the rest focused on the crown. After inspecting my beard, he had concerns with most of the hairs being red and the others black, while my scalp hair is light brown. Pekiner originally wanted to not use any beard hair but after some discussion, we decided on a small amount of black hairs could blend in help with some crown density. We then completed a conservative FUE transplant with the following: -1947 Scalp Grafts (0.7-0.9mm punch) -220 Beard Grafts (0.6mm punch) Graft Single: 166 (166) Double: 565 (1130) Triples: 1021 (3063) Multiple: 195 (780) Beard: 220 (230) Total Hair: 5369 Total Hair Graft: 2167 (1350 went to hairline, 817 to crown) Hair per graft on average: ~2.48 At the end of surgery, I also elected to have PRP for an additional 300 Euros. Dr. Pekiner did not pressure at all and stated it is completely up to me, and has noticed some benefits such as redness healing quickly for implanted grafts. I do not plan to continue this when traveling back home as the cost is too high in the U.S. for the benefits in my opinion. Medication: -Finasteride 1mg -Began Oral Minoxidil 2.5mg about 5 weeks ago (I used topical for years but never saw noticeable benefit, stopped taking oral minoxidil 1 week before surgery, will start again today) -Ketonconazole Shampoo 0.9% (Pura’dor) every 3-4 days Additional Notes -Surgery was at a nearby hospital on his own floor (About 20 minutes away). Dr. Pekiner has a surgery room in his clinic, but for some reason it was not in use, he mentioned a remodel but I didn’t ask much about it. -About 45minutes of a tasty lunch every day, provided by the clinic. -I have not received photos from Clinic yet, I will upload them once they send them my way. -Pekiner had a meeting on the second day which is why the graft count is low, we went from 8:30-13:30 straight. Part of me wonders what would have happened if I had better donor area, would we have had a full day, or still cut off early? -My last day was a full day, but also low graft count as the beard took a while. This was because he had to search for the right hairs that would best match my scalp hair color. I would say PRP also added about an hour to draw, prep, and administer -My middle hairline before surgery shows dry, kinked hair that was transplanted by Dr. Wasserbauer. Pekiner mentioned they probably implanted them incorrectly which is why they're growing like that. They also are beginning to thin and become depigmented. .
  22. I've been on 2.5mg for about 4 weeks now. No worrying symptoms. I am developing small hairs near my eyebrows that are connecting right below my temples which is interesting. I'm assuming this means it is working because I didn't get this with topical 5%. Does anyone know the likelihood of increased body hair correlates to hair growth on the scalp as well?
  23. I messaged with one of the "nurses" @Newportsmp. When asked about concealer she said "We get asked this several times a day. The answer is NO. We do not add any special effects or products what so ever to any of our before and afters. No filters or edition. The afters are 100% SMP only. Please check out the close up videos we post on our page for the fine detail of our work". I agree the wet before photo and the dry after with SMP has a huge contrast. But dry hair alone makes a big difference. Personally, I believe them. I'll post here if I read of anyone commenting on getting SMP done there to find out officially if they add anything or not.
