@HugoXdo you know Zarev's waiting list fir surgery
how long do you have to wait after consult to get the surgery now considering demand has gone up.
Surgery I think is earliest 2024 (unless cancellations come up), consultation I belive he mentioned latest time available is in mind or even after summer 2023.
I will probably go to Dr Zarev in October for final review of results, take pictures and get another look at how donor looks for the future (just incase). Last time I was there he said another 1500 grafts should be possible, would like to see if it's still around those numbers or more/less.

Depends on you hairs characteristics (thickness/diameter) and dense packing is not always the solution, seems like you are very thin/lost behind hairline also?
And the pictures aren't the greatest to see placement, would be better with before pictures and clearer pictures of recipient area.

What meds did you take post op? An antibiotic?
Amtiobtoic, something for pain if needed, soothing anti irritating spray for recipient if needed

What was your post op like? Did they give you anything like antibiotics to take or did you have to get everything on your own? Do they have a protocol with washing your head or do they recommend staying for monitoring up to a week after?
How about contact front the clinic weeks or months after to check on your growth??
I got all necessary medication for post op. Dr Zarev himself does the first wash day after surgery and goes through the coming 10 days schedule.
Dr Zarev would have preferred I stayed a day or 2 before leaving but I could not stay longer than day after surgery, so surgery was finished around 23:30 and I fly out say after around 15 clock. But I felt confident because I had seen so many post up pictures from Dr Zarevs patiens that didn't bleed or had bandage post op. So I left flying without bleeding or any bandage.
First 10 days I would send pictures every day and had daily contact with Dr Zarev, either WhatsApp or phone call if I needed.
After this, once a month check ups with pictures, WhatsApp/phone call, direct communication with Dr Zarev all the time.

Getting results like this in two passes with that many grafts is insane. Not many clinics are capable of this- no way. And to think, zarev is actually capable of even more grafts over two procedures.
he’s ridiculously meticulous in his planning and during his surgery. Look at his post op photos and videos, literally no blood and you can barely see the trauma on the scalp. Look at Turkish clinic post op photos with blood everywhere and grafts untrimmed bulging out.
His yield is fantastic considering Hugo also has curly hair. Do you know how much scar tissue builds up after 7k+ grafts? Yet his second surgery was still a home run.
One of the things I really liked before contacting Dr Zarev was the detailed photos, from all angles, good quality and detailed and so many pictures from one client. You don't see this often.
Don't know about the scar tissue question.

So you went for a consultation first then booked the procedure. Did you leave a deposit and then pay the day of? Did you wire him the money?
I filled out the consultation form at his website and got a reply to send pictures and information.
I sent as detailed info I could, made sure to send high quality pictures and I also bought a micro camera and took close up pictures of the hair follicles allover to make sure I was giving the best information I could without going there as this was during peak pandemic I wanted to avoid flying as much as possible.
We booked the surgery for a Wednesday and Thursday, but we would do a consultation on Tuesday day before surgery and if for any reason Dr Zarev decided I was not a good candidate I would have to accept this which I was OK with. But as I had sent thorough information and pictures we just confirmed everything we spoke about.
I wired a deposit before flying to Sofia to book the dates, I was actually scheduled to do the surgery 6 months later than I did but got a cancellation and I was available to fly down on short notice. And rest of the money I wired while I was there, I believe there are options for payment put deposit is necessary to book your dates.

That is the best donor management I've ever seen. How short is your hair on the donor in these photos?
Starts from zero and goes up further up you go, so zero from furthest down.

thanks for sharing 😊 how did you get in contact with him? WhatsApp?
I have monthly updates with Dr Zarev and have a direct number to him, he prioritises his existing clients for follow ups, questions or anything else.
This nr is not something I can share though.

Just some info, spoke to Dr Zarev, his new clinic will be active from end of August and first surgery in new clinic is scheduled for beginning of September.
He is also planning to within next 1-2 months hiring personnel to help him with inquiries and hopefully go through the backlog of inquiries.
Hopefully now more people can get a quicker reply.

Really amazing, but how is the view of the sides and back if you don't cut them really short as in these pictures?
The longer I let it grow the fuller it will look, but as my hair gets very vawy/curly when it gets long, I don't like it for the sides, but I have pictures (can't remember which month) where my hair is longer on sides and back.

Wow, seeing this only now, looks like from another FUE universe
Was he using beard in the count of 10K grafts extracted?
can you attach a picture of the donor zone not shaved to 0, meaning having at least 1,2 cm of hair length?
CheersHi,
No beard, only scalp hair. There are many pictures before the latest one where my hair is grown out, just go through previous pages with pictures and you will find different lengths.

It doesn't look natural because of the multiple grafts, hairlines should be single grafts so it looks soft and build behind it with multiple grafts. To soften this up a repair is probably needed unfortunately.

This cant be real... I feel like, looking at the final image, this is someone who has minor hair loss. But going back to your original post its amazing. Truly happy on your successful change. Do you have any future plans to address any items? I doubt you would but I am curious on your personal opinions on where you stand.
Also, thanks for sharing your post.
Thanks, I am certainly happy and grateful.
I have no plans to do another procedure as long as everything stays around how it is now, I have 1500 more grafts to use for the future if needed and lots of beard grafts 🧔🏻

Congrats. So far the top 5 most impressive results are from the same doctor at the same clinic.
People with dense donor were not born yesterday, yet Zarev is making history.
I have tried and tried to reach Dr. Zarev. Finally managed to get his assistant over the phone. It sounded like they were inundated with calls. She did not get back to me. So after trying several times I gave up and now going with Couto.
Unfortunately everyone that tries to contact Dr Zarev will struggle to get immediate response, he knows about this and wished he could contact everyone, he hopes that this will be better after moving to new clinic which I think he is in process of doing now.

@HugoX what was the density of your donor pre-transplant? And by any chance did he measure density afterwards?
What I am not understanding is that I am taking a LONG CLOSE LOOK at the donor areas of those incredible results on his website, and I can BARELY see reduced density in donor. I just don't get it.
Did you have like 300 FU/cm2 :)?
Or Did Zarev apply a drug that regenerates follicles?!
What I remember and I think I have mentioned in this thread is that recipient area was 227cm2 and I had I think around 2.5 hairs/graft.
A miracle regenating follicle drug would be great 😅

Which interview are you referring to? From my talks with him he would like to expand, either by letting some parts of the procedure to be done by other staff so he gets more time to other things (more consultations and communication with non patients) or even taking in another surgeon that would train under him but he is not in a hurry, Dr Zarev is young and has time and he is also a perfectionist, he wants to be in control of all aspects, he knows this isn't ideal but this is how his work is impeccable. And because he is a perfectionist finding the right staff/surgeon is not easy 😅.
And I don't agree that he only chooses the perfect candidates, I have seen many pictures that are not on website or social media, Scandinavian hair type results, thinner hair type etc.
In general Dr Zarev don't share many of his results online, if you look at Instagram or YouTube not many updates, this does not mean there is nothing to share, it's juts that's he puts all his time on his patients and does everything by himself.
In my time spent with him, in my opinion, he is not after fame, he really really love his job and wants what's best for each patient.
I can't see any other surgeon being able to take me from Norwood 6 to basically norwood 1 within 1 year, I had done almost 11k grafts within 9 months.
Had I gone to Eugenix as an example I'm sure they would have wanted to take beard graft also on first procedure.
