since you were patient, can you say more to the device dr.zarev was using?

I wish I could say more than what's already stated on Dr Zarevs webpage, but I wouldn't underestimate Dr Zarevs vacuum method as I believe it is an important tool to his method of work.

One thing I'm sure of is that no other hair transplant doctor would take me from zero to hero under 2 years time.

I'm not sure if you answered this already but did Zarev do all of the implantation and extraction himself? With the size I'm assuming extraction at least was techs?

Dr Zarev does all the work himself, extraction and implant. No technician allowed to touch patients head. And then as mentioned by mtb literally everything else

Just wondering, have you let it grow longer on the sides? You have a nice curly hair and was wondering if you would be able to pull an Afro look with your hair having the right curl and thickness…

I have thought about just letting it grow..but feel I might feel difficult to manage, might try one day.

But I'm certainly not afro 😂, I have started to like the wavy/curly look on top so I help the curls to get curlier with a diffuser I think it's called, attachment to the hair dryer.

Hi @HugoX, do you mind sharing a current photo of your hair? It’s almost 3 years since your first surgery and almost 2 years since your 2nd HT. I’m really interested in seeing long term results of an HT. Considering it’s almost 3 and 2 years respectively for both your HT, does it still currently look the same as the photos you have shared in the past?

Sure, I'll try taking next time to do skin fade and take pictures.

This has to be one of the best HTs on here. Why hasn’t Dr. Zarev used your case more? You’re one of his most impressive cases.

I think he's waiting for me to visit him for my last pictures and video at his clinic, he keeps asking me when I'm coming 😅

I'm fine if he uses my pictures as long as its blurred.

Hey @HugoX obviously this is a top 5 transformation of all time. Amazing!

If you ever get a bald fade on the sides, or otherwise, shave, I'd appreciate if you could upload a pic. Interested to see how the scars look.

I'm trying to decide between going to Pittella mid 2024, or waiting until 2025 or later for Zarev. Size of the scars may influence my decision to wait, not sure. Thanks man!

I have done skin fade now and then, but don't think I have shared it here, I have shared couple of pictures where I have really short.

These were around 6 months after second procedure. (the red spot at neck is some sort of a birth mark, have always had that)

How did you get a consultation and how long did you have to wait to get the consultation?

Also after the consultation, how long will you wait for your actual surgery?

Do you know what the waitlist is?

Hi @HugoX, thank you for your reply.

I quoted T200 because the question was directed to him since he’s the latest one who had a consultation and in contact with Dr. Zarev.

Having said that, I had read your thread and that’s why I got interested with Dr. Zarev. I’m very grateful to you and MTB as well since you guys are a big help in this forum in showing us what Dr. Zarev can do. I’ve searched the Internet and only you and MTB have a very detailed hands on review of Dr. Zarev. You guys are lucky, I’m hoping to get in touch with him too.

Sorry, my bad 😅, missed that.

  8. In the beginning of my thread I mention how I did my consultation which was a bit different from what Dr Zarev normally does as this was during peak covid. I recommend to read first and 2nd page of my thread.

I don't know the waiting list but I have read here in someone else's thread that consultation waiting list is around 2-3 years and surgery around 4 years... But I am not sure.

Hi! I was having a consultation at Dr. Zarev… really professional … he recommended same medication but I don‘t know where to buy it? Any recommendations? Thanks in advance! Great result mate 🙂

    Thanks 🙂

It's different for each country, I don't think there is a general online store where you can get this. In Sweden you actually can't find minoxidil with finasteride so I have a friend that buys in England and sends to me.

You will have to check were you live I think.

Standard approach in HT is harvesting from the Safe Zone. This is called Safe Zone, because hair in this zone are most resistant to DHT and thus miniaturisation.

Average patient  has around 5000-6000 grafts that can be extracted from the Safe Zone. So clearly Dr Zarev is extracting thousand of grafts outside the Safe Zone when he is doing his 10000 +  FUE hair transplatations.

So the question for Dr Zarev is

Isn't it the case that although we are seeing great hair transplant results now, in a few years due to extracting grafts outside the Safe Zone, many transplanted hair will be miniaturized and the effect will be much worse than with the standard approach? Are other elite doctors wrong that they are focusing on extracting from the Safe zone?

I became a norwood 6 around age of 28 and nothing changed up until I did my hair transplant at age 40,if I had done nothing I would look the same for sure another 20 years, would I drop to norwood 7? maybe, when? Don't know, when I am 60? 70?

If I went do Dr Zarev with a norwood 2-3 hair loss then of course it would mean a total different approach.

So what I am saying, the WOW results you see are done on norwood 6/7s, what more would a person like that loose? How many goes from norwood 6 to.... norwood 10( I know doesn't exist 😅).

Just look at old men that have had the same norwood 6/7 hair loss from age 30 to age 75-80 (of course thinning of hair due to age will affect) but nothing has changed.

    You’re right.

Crown getting thicker by the week.

Yeah the problem is there remaining donor grafts should be used for density rather than lowering the hairline. We’ll see. I’m pretty happy with things.

Pitella, H&W, and Eugenix are great options with shorter wait times. No other doc can gets as many scalp only FUE grafts however. Grateful I found Dr Zarev when I did.

    Yes, sir.

    ha ha. For real.

Attached are some pics from the gym this week. Didn’t put up the Dr Zarev yellow paper at the gym. Ha. It’s getting thicker by the week
