Why cant you consult with multiple doctors at the same time?

To me it seems you sre unnecessarily tacking on another 2-3 months to your overall journey if you are waiting for Nader to get back to you

I did also did consults with Mwamba and Feriduni. 

I dont have an answer for you i just hope you arent putting all your eggs into the Nader basket

For all you know you have already been rejected for any number of reasons. 

I myself submitted a consult form to Nader around 4 months ago and never heard anything back either.

But i just kept consulting with other docs and didn't put any thought into hearing back from Nader

For all you know Nader read your consult form and decided you weren't a profitable enough case for him to accept you.

Essentially just don't put all your eggs in one basket when choosing a surgeon.

I would say permanent or long lasting nerve pain is a very rare symptom of HTs. Even for patients who go to hairmills, even if you get botched, nerve damage is rare.

Follow up with a local doc who specializes in nerve pain. There is no way in heck the hairmill you went to is going to give you any productive answers for your path forward. 

I would not proceed with a HT to be honest. 

-You have really advanced hairloss and wager you'd need 3 (or more surgeries) to return to NW1 status

-Keep in mind that for many people wore than NW3, returning to NW1 may honestly be impossible. You may be limited by donor and/or your HT's may be mediocre or worse results. Heck, its really challenging for some NW2 and NW3s to return to NW1

So your end result may be going from a high # NW to a NW3 or NW2. If you are seeking NW1 and only NW1, do not press go

-It's really really REALLY ill-advised to get a HT without being on a dht blocking med like Fin. Without meds it defeats the purpose of getting a HT....

In your current un-medicated state, if you seriously can't live life as a bald or balding man, I would honestly explore a hair system/wig before surgery

Surgery requires 1) Honest and realistic expectations for what can be achieved and 2) Medication to prevent future hairloss

for the first 72 hours, grafts are susceptible to being pulled out. A hallmark sign of a pulled graft is bleeding.

So it is definitely possible you have lost a graft. Especially if you aren't bleeding in other location and it is only specific to this one area you think you lost the graft. 

why on earth was the recipient area not fully shaven?!?!? This is really strange to me. I definitely understand there are situations partial shave is appropriate, but in this specific circumstance I honestly don't understand why (at least for the recipient area) that it was not fully shaven. 

Dr. Cooley is a fantastic doctor and for all I know it will have 0% affect that it was not fully shaven, but I honestly am confused into the decision here.

First of all it is impossible to predict anyone's final hair loss form with any degree of certainty

Second of all it makes no sense to get a HT just to delay a shaved head by two years (if you could confidently predict final form hairloss, which again, you cant)

If you honestly are ok with a shaved head I would just let your hairloss progress naturally and live au naturale, and just embrace baldness as it happens

Or you can do SMP. But I honestly would rather be naturally bald than be bald but with a fake NW1 buzzcut

As long as you remain committed to this false belief that a 22 yr old NW5 should only need a 'one and done' surgery, I dont think you will ever be at peace with this process. Your expectations do not meet the reality of this journey. 

Consider the recent NW2 Mwamba patient who is also around your age. He started from a MUCH better baseline spot than you did, and even he will need a 2nd (and perhaps more) procedures. 

Your 1st HT unquestionably brought progress to your situation. You will need a 2nd ht and i will go as far as saying you likely will need a 3rd ht too if you want a 10/10 end result. 

And the thing about this is it is all 100% NORMAL. Even NW2's and NW3's should expect multiple procedures. 

I definitely empathize with all your feelings and emotions. And i am sorry if you did not receive a fully transparent prognosis from Dr. Hasson before you embarked on this journey. 

But i advise you to stop being hung up on that fact and understand that every single hair transplant doctor in the world - every single cosmetic doctor in the world - is part salesman and part of their job is selling you surgery and making the journey seem smoother than it may be in reality. 

To me and perhaps others in this thread, it just seems like you set impossibly high expectations/goalpost with your 1st surgery, when in reality I think your journey has actually been very standard/expected. 

The vast majority of ht patients dont realize until after their 1st surgery that this journey has many touchpoints and is never as simple or easy as 'one and done'

to me it seems obvious he doesn't want you to publicize a poor result. If you had a great result he would want you to be promoting your result everywhere. 

Unless the doctor is paying you money to keep you silent or you plan on having surgery with him again or maintaining some other sort of other close, personal relationship, you literally owe the doctor nothing. 

Severe itching is normal but a pain in the a**. 

Aloe Vera helps immensely, but still don't be surprised if you have to apply gobs of it and frequently as well. 

The itching should really only last 1 week or less once it starts, so just keep in mind that as annoying as it is it is just a short term thing. 

i'd be keen to find out what Dr. Mwamba will be doing differently this time around as opposed to the first surgery. 

are you absolutely certain the hairline is too low? the best scenario would be simply to lower the higher part of the hairline so it matches the bottom part. 

If the hairline truly is f*cked, you can certainly do punch outs but it almost always requires 2 or more surgeries to get all the hair. 

If you have very generous donor availability remaining, I think the best repair option would be to laser or use electrolysis and kill off all the bad grafts. 

Killing bad grafts is way easier, quicker, less costly, and simply than going the extraction repair route

This is regarding a hairline graft that was implanted over 1 yr ago. 

I was trimming my bangs with scissors myself, and short story I accidentally yanked an entire hairline graft out from the root.

Will this graft grow back in totally fine? 

I know if someone yanks out native/non-surgically altered hairs they should regrow just fine, but I am wondering if transplant grafts may be weaker and might be more affected by pulling them out? Or perhaps not?

I went to the trichotillomania forum on Reddit to research more on pulling hair out and apparently you can PERMANENTLY lose hair if you pull or pluck it enough times.

But i am wondering 1) is accidentally yanking a hair out 1 time enough to have killed it and 2) are transplant grafts in anyway weaker or more likely to face permanent damage if they are pulled out

Its such massive endeavor to have surgery, and a miracle in itself for grafts to grow in the first place - so its just a very jarring and nerve wracking feeling to have yanked one of these grafts out

Its strange to me that you got sides from dut but not from fin. 

Its also unusual that fin has lost its efficacy after only 18 months. 

Without fin or dut, you are really risking a lot. 

Total speculation but perhaps your olive skin tone exaggerates the whiteness of the extraction sites. Idk. 

A #2 guard may or may not conceal the extraction sites or not. A #3 guard definitely should. 

I would say start with a #2 and see what it looks like. 

@Dillpickle123 perhaps you already know this, but SMP only lasts for a few years before it starts to fade, and also there is some maintenance as you have to protect the SMP area from getting sunburned so it doesnt fade out

I think the better solution is to merely change up your haircut so you don't have a 0 guard in the extraction sites

While your surgery outcome is not good, even if you had a 10/10 surgery, having a 0 guard shave over extraction sites will result in them being visible.

the emotional and mental toll of surgery is not brought up enough...

even for people who have great results, it can be a very stressful and anxiety-filled process

there used to be a very active user here - paging @NARMAK if he is still gets these notifications, i dont think he has been on since the beginning of the year - who went to Eugenix specifically for temple points. 

Last I heard I think he was unhappy with growth. Ultimately I am not sure what his end result looked like as he stopped providing updates.

Congrats, it looks great! A few questions:

1) How many months did you have to wait for surgery?

2) I haven't seen many cases of Konior doing 3k+ grafts in one go. Did he bring this up with you at all?

3) You mentioned another potential surgery down the road. Did Konior give any commentary on if he thinks you are a one and done or what is his long-term prognosis for you, etc.?
