  1. I've had HT done by dr mollura at mhr and can say the experience was great and the outcome better than expected. Very professional, never felt I was on a conveyor belt, and had techs with me throughout the procedure, inc. dr m for strip removal and suture, and punching out the transplant area. full disclosure - I do Not work for MHR. feel free to review my blog on this site. i am planning ht #2 and would choose mhr and dr m. Best!
  2. Not sure what others think, but I was afraid that the hairline would not suit my face, and I'd be stuck with it, looking foolish. It didn't prevent me from getting the HT, but I spent a lot of time with dr m to get it just right, including bringing in 10 yr old photos of myself for his reference. He was great, set my expectations accordingly, and he really pulled it off. That was my fear.
  3. As others have already stated- take time off from work for HT and recovery, as much as possible. I scheduled my HT on Thurs Jan 17th before MLK holiday and returned to work Jan 28, so I was out of work 10 days but only took 6 vacation days. Nice having 2 weekends plus a holiday to recover. I had my stitches taken out on Jan 30 (12 days post op) and only 1 person asked if I got a sunburn. So I was only at work for 3 days with stitches. Work a strategy like that to maximize time off. You are making a major decision about your future and I'd recommend giving yourself maximum time to recover with minimum stress. And Don't bother telling anyone at work about your procedure. There's no reason to explain to them about your appearance. Personally, I grew a beard ahead of time, and shaved it off shortly after HT, to add to the distraction. Best!
  4. Sounds like 1600 is small price for possible return in you appearance. One has to ask, is doing Nothing better than doing Something? if you do nothing, you stand no change. For those who think that during a depression you dont take on debts, you are clearly mistaken and dont understand economics or for that matter personal choice. As long as decisions are made in a rational way and can see long-term benefits, I dont see an issue with financing - get a low-rate, and make sure you arent over-extended, period. Best!
  5. hairthere and fallenstar - thanks for the feedback. how long did you wait between HT1 and HT2? the minimum or did you let HT1 grow in beyond 18 months? did you return to same surgeon for HT1 (I would guess yes), but if not, why not? many thanks.
  6. hairthere - Thanks for the encouraging feedback on HT2. Did your surgeon recommend 3200 grafts or were you aiming for maximum? How long did that session take, and how many technicians were placing the follicles?
  7. Don't worry and hide all mirrors in your house! you are at the point where the transplanted hairs fall out and you arent seeing rapid growth. Sit tight. The next few months should start to pick up the pace. I am at 11 months now and have seen tremendous growth.
  8. I am considering a 2nd HT to fill the crown and add density to front area. My concern is with direct and/or collateral damage to the first HT follicles, as the new transplant incisions are made. Does the HT surgeon move at a slower more precise pace, or rapid fire?
  9. turn the tables - if their eyes drift to your hairline, and you are sensitive, your eyes should drift to their teeth while they are speaking. do it couple of times and see their reaction. just a thought. In the corporate world senior managers will do this to me while i am speaking to them - it is a technique used to 'size you up' - do you get flustered or distracted easily if they are looking elsewhere, or do you simply overlook it unfazed. i have trained myself to ignore it, and on occassion, will look at their tie, teeth, collar, ear, etc. to have the same fun.
  10. This is an interesting question and is one that I have struggled with a bit. in Jan 08 I had my first HT and have had tremendous growth results since then. Please see my blog at http://www.hairtransplantnetwo...e-page.asp?WebID=590 It's both gratifying to me in terms of meeting and exceeding expectations, and yet, difficult to hide from co-workers and my staff, several who know me for 3+ years and see me on a daily basis. So one can imagine comments ranging from 'nice hair cut' to 'we're did you get that hair from?!' I just smile and tell them, "I've stopped getting buzz cuts and am letting my hair grow!" No one needs to know the details. i couldnt keep this a secret from my wife and kids, my sister and parents. but i did let them know it was private and i didnt want it blabbed to the extended family so i had them swear to secrecy first!
