  1. If you would fill in those areas in this young age, you would have to do HT every couple of years to fill in other bald areas. I remember reading of a guy filling his left temple, after 2 years he started loosing much hair om his right temple and made another HT to fill it. And after a couple of years his hair loss accelerated and he lost almost all of frontal hair, except the temples, it looked extremely odd... I started loosing hair at 22, and I'm 33 now and planning to do my first HT in the coming months because My hair loss has stabilized, and I'm extremely glad i didnt do HT in the beginning as I would just be on a HT Hunt every year.

Yeah he dosent like to do too many graphs in one sitting i had 2 procedures 1st one was frontal zone 2800 graphs FUT then went back year later and had crown done 1100 graphs FUE. I never heard of exosomes injections it wouldnt be for me anyway. I did in the begining use the cr lab shampoos he reccomends and laser comb although havent used both for past year.

Yea the exosomes seems to be a next level prp thing with stem cells and other cells. Its seems promising since I see alot of US based clinics implenting it, with  great results. Happy to hear that you are satisfied with the HT scar. Did you have pic to share on the scar with short hair?

    Hi

Yeah no problem ive been getting a 2 on back & sides lately and its really hard to see tbh how many graphs you looking to get have you been in contact with him yet ?

Well, I've been quoted Up to 5000 grafts by other clinics (which I think is way too much). The lowest I've got is about 3500 grafts (except Dr. Saifi). I'm in contact with Dr. Saifi and he has previously quoted me 2000 grafts. I asked him if he can increase it to 2500-3000 grafts but he doesnt want my to focus on the technical details, wait for the real life consultation and thereafter focus on how to take care of my hair after the HT. He believes that much of my hair (crown) can be saved by treatment, probably exosomes. I will probably talk with him by phone the coming days. Have you had the exosomes injections and if so, did they help and how much do they cost?

That's a pretty small area your pointing to, could just be some growth cycling in/out. The resting and shedding phases can last about 6 months. Its happening all over our heads with random hairs. That's why even healthy non-balding people shed about 100 hairs a day.

    https://www.healthline.com/health/stages-of-hair-growth

Are you on any meds currently? Because there are other places showing loss too. The front edges on the top and sides are usually very sensitive to DHT and the first to start showing recession and thinning. Finasteride may help you hold to them longer by lowering your DHT. Minoxidil would thicken the hairs and lengthen their growth cycles so you have more growing at the same time.

Its important not to delay too long on whether you want to just let nature take its course. Try shaving it all off and let your beard grow out, see if you like it. If you do that's a much easier and cheaper solution.

I hope its just a shedding/resting phase, but also worried since I want to do HT in 4-5 months. Ive lost much hair on the temples and front/middle scalp so thats why I want to do HT. I've pretty much shave everything of twice every month and rock a beard, it suits me pretty well but Im getting tired of this one look. I dont take any meds or minoxidil. I tried fin but got sides and quit.

that’s great what made you look into HTs?

The thing is that with a bald/shaved head, I only got one look, and that's the bad/tough and more masculine look (even though I'm far away from a bad guy). I get tired of having the same look day after day. And It became extremely obvious to me that people behaved differently towards me when I started shaving. I got generally more "respect" and taken more seriously but I also often feel like some people are little intimidated haha :P As my work is having me meet alot of people, I would love to have the option to switch my look depending on circumstances. And another big factor is frankly that I miss the "old" me, to style my hair.

  6. I was around 22 years (about 10 years ago), a close friend in university told me that my hair was thinning. So I asked other friends if it were true because I didnt see any thinning, and no one noticed anything. So I thought that my friend was jealous because I got more girls :P But after about 2 years, I heard it from my sisters husband, and when I examined really closely I noticed that I really started to get thinner hair. I immediately jumped on minoxidil.

But around 2 years ago, the hair loss started accelerating and it became very obvious that I was balding and I couldnt keep the same hairstyle, especially when people would comment time and time again, so I shaved everything of. But to my surprise, I liked that way I looked with shaved head, so it didnt affect me that much at all. I also got married and My wife liked it...

  7. I started taking ginger shots (for health reasons) every day the past month and after 1-1/2 weeks use my folliculitis on the hair were gone. Nothing the doctors had prescribed me before had helped, so I was very surprised that suddenly the folliculitis were getting less and less inflamed and suddenly gone. What I know, the redness is kind of inflammation still going on (correct me if I'm wrong), and as ginger is anti-inflammatory it wouldn't hurt to try it for a couple of weeks. It was the only thing I changed in my diet so it must have been the ginger shots in my case that eliminated the folliculitis, and I guess it's because of the anti-inflammatory properties in ginger.

I really didn’t do much exercises before the 2nd FUT- I think the first time I did more. I sorta forget this round but it all went well...he took out the old scar and got the strip from the same area- so they’ll be one scar still - which is great. It looks like it closed up really well. I’ll upload photos once the staples are removed.

Wow first time I've heard of this metod of removing the old scar and taking 2nd strip from same area. How long did you do the exercises?

  9. I dont think it looks that bad. The donor area is easily covered if you dont trim your hair very short, and recepient area is also not that bad. But maybe your pictures doesnt show how bad it really is?

I have seen waaay worse in real life. I have a friend that is basically semi bald and looks like a cancer patient with extremely Little hair left in the donor area and extremely Little to No hair on top and front. Your case is easily repaired with body hair or smp, or both. I would suggest to rock a longer hair for a while, save money and go to a experienced Doctor.

Can I see a picture of your hair loss. 3,500 - 4,000 is a huge job and I'd always be wary of surgeons that qoute those numbers. Saifi and Anastasakis were my top two choices. Anastasakis estimated 2,000 grafts. Saifi estimated 1,800 but delivered 2,040 after deciding on a slightly more radical approach than was planned.

I won't go for a check up tomorrow because I'm flying home early, but if I was flying out late I'd have been invited back for a check-up and he would have washed the hair for me.

Here is a picture. The crown is not as bad in real life as it is on the picture so my priority is mid/front scalp for now. I will for sure need another transplant in the future so that is why I am opting for FUT more than FUE, atleast right now.

  11. Looks really nice. I am also planning to go for Dr Saifi, Will probably book for february. However he also quoted me 2000 grafts which i think is too little, I thought I need 3000 grafts, 2500 grafts at the very least. I have been quoted 3500-4000 grafts by other clinics. But he seems to be very Good with FUT which i think I would go for. Will you go for a check Up the next Day?

I did not mean to cause any concern in anyway. It is mainly to optimize your general scalp condition. Having said that, transplants do work well even if you have some dandruff or certain scalp conditions. It is mainly to make sure that the scalp is healthy and clean. I dont see your condition as something that will be of any concern in terms of infections etc so don’t worry.

What do you think of folliculitis and hair transplant? I always have some folliculitis popping up on my scalp, about 5-10 of them at a time, sometimes they go away sometimes make a comeback.

During my consult for my second FUT I was advised I can get 2200 grafts using the existing strip being cut out. Dr. Wong advised that if I did scalp Laxity exercises for 3 months I can loosen my scalp. I was consistent and did the exercises for 3.5 months. The day prior to surgery I was advised that my Laxity was great. I was able to get 3500 grafts. I was advised by Dr. Wong that I had a lot of scar tissue built up which he had to remove from my first procedure and had it not been for that I would have likely got 4000 grafts.

It definitely makes a difference but you have to be consistent and put in an hour each day. It was a chore to do but I wanted to get the most grafts I could and it worked. Check out the Hasson and Wong site they have a video on how to perform them properly.

Thank you for the answer, will check out Hasson and Wong videos. I guess 4 weeks is not enough to notice a different in my case. I want to do the surgery in January, maximum in february, do you think I can achieve better elasticity in two months? Did you feel that your scalp got more elasticity?

I think FUT then FUE for you is the wise choice.  Do you have a doctor picked out yet?  Are you on fin?

Regarding scalp exercises: I did them, and I think they become more important to do with subsequent FUT procedures.  It's hard for me to say how effective the exercises are, but my strip scars are not atrocious even after 6 strip surgeries so they might have helped.  Have you had any in person consultations?  Have the docs said you have a tight scalp?

I am considering dr Saifi in Poland right now, he has 24 years of experience, excellent merits, seems to prefer FUT over FUE, and also does 'trichophytic closure' which supposedly is a very good closing technique for FUT. No I don't take any fin and no minoxidil. I used minoxidil 2% during a few years but stopped couple of years ago because I simply got tired of using it.

I have not had in person consultations because no one in my country does FUT, and the FUE clinics a very few and average. Poland is 1.5 hours away with plane so I might go there and have consultation or just book for FUT in January an continue using elasticity exercises (perhaps more frequent) and hope for the best. No doc has told me that I have tight scalp, it just feels like I have tight scalp on the middle part of my back head because I cannot pinch the skin together with my thumb and finger. The sides are no problem, I can pinch the skin... So that made me thinking of how they would be able to cut a strip out and sew it.
