No they are not dead hairs . They will thicken up dramatically in the next 4-8 weeks . Congratulations , you are an early grower . Overall great progress

Looking good man, now is generally the worst time but things will start to change for the better anytime in the next 6 weeks or so, at least that you'll visually notice in the mirror anyways.

Any really short, thick stubbly hairs that are still coming out aren't dead grafts, just shed hairs that got trapped in the skin. Some of them just have a hard time shedding on their own but if you were to take a pair of tweezers and pull on one of them for example, it'd come out with 0 resistance. Happened to me too.

Thanks for the clarfication, much appreciated and eased my mind 😊

  2. Hello guys, here is my 2 months update, taken in shade and direct sunlight. Not so much has happened during the last couple of weeks. I start seeing some new hairs popping out here and there but overall the status seems to be about the same, I think... I also dont shed that much anymore, maybe 2-3 short hairs when I shower. I hope that those short hairs are not from dead grafts because Its weird that they have not grown all those weeks.

@Falconary you are exactly at the same post op stage as myself. Quitting smoking was a brilliant move not just for your hair but also for your health and your wallet! 👍You've got an excellent donor pre surgery and post surgery! I love your doctor's game plan and the amount of work he participated in for what will be an excellent result. To get through the ugly duckling phase I am just up to my neck working and I'll be going to Thailand in May. It's difficult but if you can distract yourself somehow it helps with being able to forget about your hair at this stage. Remember the days are long but the years go quick! All the best!

Thanks man! I can only agree, Dr. Pinto did really a great job with the design, planning, extraction, everything so It's basically a waiting game now even though Its much harder than I thought. Thailand is great, hope you will have a nice trip :D

  4. Thanks for the answer guys. It's a bit reassuring and I really hope that hair will grow there or atleast be covered with longer hair. I've smoked my last cigarett for now, my hair is way more important. But man I never thought I would look at the intricate details and thought of it as a smooth sail before ht, but post transplant I found myself staring at my hair and taking pictures, zooming in etc., each and every day 😅

  5. Just a quick update and a question for you guys. I'm about 5-6 weeks post transplant, and I know Its way too early to tell but I'm a bit worried about the temples. There seems to be spots here and there that doesnt have any hair or sign of any hair being there and/or Will start to grow there. I've marked one spot of left and right temple. I've noticed on others that usually where the hairs will grow one can see a small dot where the hair should grow from or atleast a "dimple" that could be a sign of a hair that Will grow. However, in those spots I don't have any. Am I right on my assumption? I'm afraid that I've done a big no no by starting smoking again about 3 weeks post transplant and it could have affected the growth and killed some follicules.

i'm so desperately trying to be optimistic for OP, but it's really hard putting a positive spin on this with the facts and pictures we have at hand.

Can you share the examples you speak of?

It would be pretty hard to find them again because I made a really extensive research (looked through hundreds of patients reviews) to find a doctor near me in Spain/Portugal almost a year ago. But I can try to find one tomorrow (it's midnight for me now so have to sleep soon). However I am certain that there were a few cases were I reacted to what seemed to be very bad angled hair that basically looked like the pics OP provided. They all had excellent natural result and were very satisified with the result.

  7. I made a request to order topical dutasteride from fueclinic about a week ago but still no response. Anyone that knows how long it takes to get a response? I'm on oral finasteride now, even though I have no sides I don't like the idea of altering my hormones, especially since I have to use it for life, so I want to try topical dutasteride.

  8. 1 month update. I have still a little bit of numbness on the recipient area and I am shedding hairs day by day. However I thought that I would have shedd much more hair by now as I've seen most people shedd 90%+ hairs by the 1 month mark, and I have a fair amount of hairs left to shedd so I hope that late shedder is not equal to late blommer.

Next is a quick one and illustration quite simply of the magic that is Mwamba.

The first is at about 4 months post 1200 grafts from chest. No toppik was used for this photo at the back. Look at that result!

The second picture was taken BEFORE Mwamba and even after the SMP and when the final results from the first procedure were more or less settled. Look at what a shit show that is. Reason to never get a HTP in the first place unless you can get a doc who has skills with donor management.

The third was taken also December 2020 and affirms how bad it was and how little flexibility you have with donor after.

Nape hair is only used for temples and hairline

It has no coverage value as they are not inly singles but also very fine singles.

I'll attach some pictures so you can where they were taken from and how they look on your temple points

First is my left temple done by a Dr in Turkey. Thick unnatural grafts and low density.

Here is after 75/100 nape grafts from Dr Mwamba at FUE CLINIC in Brussels and removal of thick ones.

You can see they are much more fine and blend perfectly with your natural thinner sides.

There is no scaring left on the nape, at least not in me.
