  1. We are all basically trying to improve ourselves as people. Many of us have insecurities, and losing hair being a major one for many balding men. Some of those man have enough self-confidence not to care about losing hair and simply buzz it or shave it but many of us don't. It definitely helps you feel younger and more attractive that's for sure. I think everyone should go to the gym and work-out and get in shape, because hair isn't everything, that's for sure. I went to the gym before my HT and will keep going after it. I advise to you not to worry, that phase passes and you will have new hair growth, but don't center your world around it. Keep trying to improve yourself as a person and ofcourse take care of your new hair, but don't obsess with it. I wish you happy growing :))

It can make you lose transplanted hairs? Jesus, really?

I had horrible dandruff, particularly after my operation and it knocked it out nicely. But now I'm worried

Yeah I read that some guy washed his hair post-op with nizoral and that he started shedding/losing transplanted hairs and that a few months after many of them didnt grow back. Maybe he over-used it, most likely, but still, it's a pretty harsh shampoo.

Btw how often did ur doctor advise u to use it?

My Doctor told me at first to try to use it twice a week, if it proves to be too harsh on my scalp and makes it too dry then go down once a week. Inbetween that my Doctor recommended me to use a mild biotin shampoo with some herbal extracts, which should soothe the scalp in-between the Nizoral uses.

  4. I've always read about the big 3: Fin, Minox, and Ketoconazole shampoo (Nizoral) 2%. But lately everything I read on this forum about Nizoral is people complaining how harsh it was on their scalp, how they not only shed their native hairs but also lost their transplanted hairs permanently, etc etc.

My HT Doctor has recommended me to start using Nizoral 2 months after my HT. But after reading some of the posts on here, I'm worried a bit. Could it be that people used it too often (every day or every other day) and thats why it had these effects on them? Because I think it should be only used once or twice a week.

I will be using Minoxidil and Topical FInasteride in conjunction with microneedling, but I'm definitely not sure about Nizoral....

Anyone with more experience on Nizoral post-hair transplant??

Almost 2 years now. My hairline is completely destroyed. I have a terribly damaged donor.

This disaster has pretty much destroyed my life. I can't leave my house without a hat. Haven't been able to gather the guts to find a job. Stuck in a depressed loop and don't have the money to pay for an expensive repair.

Is there any hope for me?

Maybe this is a stupid idea, but have u ever just thought about winging it and shaving your head? Shouldn't look too terrible and definitely would look better than the patchyness you have with the destroyed donor.

    Hey guys,

I used oral finasteride for approximately seven years and it had great affects during that time on my hair.Unfortunately I slowly started developing side effects and had to discontinue the medication. I switched over to topical 5% liquid Rogaine and have been using that for the past five or six years, but lately have also noticed side effects with this medication (dizziness, rapid heartbeat) . I also tried a brief stint with topical finasteride/Rogaine, but also felt some fatigue and other mild side effects using this medication.

I would love to continue using these medications as they have saved my hair, although I can’t deal with the side effects. Is there a way to decrease systemic absorption of applied topicals?

Look for topicals with lipids(liposomes) in them, as their fatty cell membrane should block these topicals from being absorbed in the bloodstream, and keep them present only in the scalp. Then the stuff u take will not enter ur bloodstream and u wont have minoxidil side effects such as rapid heart beat or finasteride side effects such as effects on ur sex drive.

  7. I am 22 years old with my male pattern baldness setting in as early as 15. I had a HT 6 days ago when I was a Norwood 3. I did my frontal/receding hairline fully, with plans on doing the crown in a year or two since it's not so bad right now. I am pleased with the professionalism of the clinic and the doctor. I underwent an FUE hair transplant, they used HEX punch 0.8mm for extraction and then put the hair follicles in ATP and Hypothermosol for keeping them alive in-between extraction and implantation. The doctor prescribed me first week of antibiotics and prednizone as an anti-inflammatory glucocorticoid against the swelling in my forehead. I basically slept while sitting for the first 4 days to avoid the swelling and there was minimal swelling in the forehead. There is a bit of yellowish around the skin where the grafts were implanted due to bruising I suppose. I also got PRP done in the frontal area where the follicles were implanted, which was included in the price. I am not sure how many grafts they used since I never asked them, maybe you can tell me when you look at the photos? Let me know what you think about it overall.
