He seems like a straight shooter and I like the fact that he does everything himself. He currently works with Dr. Lorenzo In Spain, so a lot of his work is still growing.

Everything I’ve seen thus far has impressed me.

    Yeah same.

I guess if he is good enough to work with Dr. Lorenzo, he should be decent.

Thank you Melvin for your input!

  2. Hi everyone,

I was wondering if someone here have ever had HT with Bruno Ferreira in Portugal, or has any knowledge about him?

Seems like it's impossible to find any reviews about him on the web. Just one result posted by himself on this forum. Nowhere else.

He's one of the docs on my list, as he look like very passionate about HT and OCD (just like me).

I've been in contact with him and he referred only to his website and Instagram where is only 3 cases documented.

While I like his content, it's a bit weird not seeing much done from him.

He is also a bit more expensive than other docs on my list and I'm not sure if I could even stretch my budget to match his price for proposed amount of grafts (3000-3500 and possibly more. Will be decided on live consultation).

I'm very keen to learn more about him and if someone knows more about him would be great!

    Any feedback is appreciated!

    Thanks gents.

  3. Almost month 8. Finasteride destroyed my results!

Haha, just kidding. While it's true, hopefully that's the "shedding phase".

Pic 1 with regular room light. Pic 2 and 3 with flash from a bit further "I've noticed if taken too close it reflects too much from scalp".

My left side (right side in pictures) is much stronger than right, but thankthfully that's how I'm combing my hair over from left to right/down.

At this point I see good and bad.

Positive: I have quite a lot of baby hairs as well as new hairs grown for the last few months in hairline area and especially in mid scalp. Compared to where I started it's a massive difference. If everything will go as I expect, this hair will mature and I will get an amazing (compared to where I started) coverage in mid scalp and crown.

Negative: Obvious. Receded more into the crown on the right side compared to few months ago.

I guess would have been wiser to start fin, minox and derma rolling at the same time.

So far I'm still very positive on the outcome. Once fully matured, I'll get some work done in my hairline and hopefully will be able to forget about combing my hair over for next 2-5 years.

What is the point of having a consultation and then booking the hair transplant for 3 or 4 years in the future? By the time your surgery date comes the original consultation would be useless. Any plan that was made, amount of grafts you need, etc may all change by then. Heck, even the price can change over 3 to 4 years time. What good is that? I went from NW 3 to NW 6 in less time there is between his consultation and surgery dates. If you were at the point of being ready to do something about your hair loss.... nope, sorry... you have to wait 4 years. That doesn't make any sense. I don't know why anyone would go there. Being told I'd have to wait a year just for a consultation would make me say no and move on right there. What happens after you FINALLY have the hair transplant and have a question or maybe you don't get the amount of density you were hoping for or whatever it may be? Do you have to wait another year to even talk to him? Do you have to wait another 4 years for a 2nd surgery? Why would anyone do that? I'm not saying the guy doesn't do good work, but I just don't understand why anyone would go through it for that long if you can go somewhere else to get it done.

Personally I don't believe there's an actual 4 year list of people waiting for surgery every day Monday-Friday. Its 261 patients a year x 4 years = 1044. Its if there is no holidays for surfeon and taking 1 patient a day.

As you mentioned you wouldn't wait 4 years for that. I'm not even mention consultation part. I believe its 100% marketing. Once you apply they for sure will mention "extra opened slot at particular day for extra price" or something similar.

I had surgery on April 22. The grafts did not start falling out until day 30. Here's how my hairs look like today, month 4 and half.

    Thoughts??

    Month 4.5.jpg

Looks amazing to me for just 4.5 months! On left temple on pic you cant even tell a difference!

I was wondering if your natural hairline was this shape or this is something your doc. recommended? I was always wondering why some dr. make such pointy triangular hairline.

I'm sure it will turn out fantastic for you!

    Hey lads,

I got a hair transplant 2 and a half months ago getting 3600 grafts in the frontal area and temples and i did not tell anyone besides my parents and i do not want anyone knowing. So i have been away from home studying overseas for my recovery period and i fly back home in 1 month meaning when i fly back i will be 3 and a half months post op. My question to you guys is did you just continue to grow you hair or did you shave it? for me i think my only option is to shave it as i am obviously thin in my temple area's in the early stages of post op which people will question. From your experices if i shave it down to a number 1 or 2 all over and cut the transplanted hair as short as possible with scissors will it all blend in or does it still look noticeably thin even when it is short short. Thanks boys :)

I would clip it down to #2 and put dermmatch all over. Will look like full set of hair.

My experience of Dr Bhatti in India with before and after photos. Any questions please ask, the results speak for themselves. An absolutely unbelievable experience and has totally changed my hairline.

    Hey Rob,

Congrats on you ht! Your hair looks great! But if you are talking about your hairline, you have to actually show it. Pictures does not represent a harline.

Btw I see you have a nice skin fade. How does your donor are looks like? Would you be able to share some pictures?

  8. If you lost a lot of hairs rapidly i would strongly recommend considering finasteride. There is a very high chance you would regrowth a lot if not almost everything you just lost. I've heard somewhere that you can regrow as much hair as you lost in your last 2-3 years. Might be a great option for you.

Personally for me it works wonders so far. I've been on it a bit more that 2 months and I see some hairs sprouting from places I've been bold for 2-3 years now. I started slowly with 0.25mg of fin twice a week for couple of weeks, then increased dosage to 0.5mg three times a week for 2 weeks and now I'm doing 0.5mg every day. Just wanted to slowly build up tolerance to minimise chances of side effects and looks like so far so good.

They also prescribed me Dut as well twice a week, but i am a little cautious of taking it,  i want to see how i get on with this first, what are your thoughts on Dut? - some have sides and some people do not.

I'm in no way expert in this area, but logically speaking, Dutasteride blocks type l and type ll Alpha Reductase. As it will block more DHT, person can expect more benefits from it. Unfortunately, it's like a double edged sword, more benefits - higher chances of side effects. Also half life is twice as longer if not more as of Finasteride, therefore it's more dangerous. I heard a lot of people are taking it with positive results, however personally I would try it only if I would up my dosage on fin first and it won't work.

Again, just my 3 cents. I have limited knowledge on that, therefore don't take it as a fact.

    Hello Rolandas,

I had my hair transplant with dr freitas in July and i am one and a half months into derma rolling every day with minoxidil foam twice a day, i am also taking fin once a day and nizoral 3 times a week.

A good idea also is to wash your head in hot water before derma rolling or applying, minoxidil, it open the paws in the scalp, makes absoring alot easier. I also added saw palmetto recently as well, seems to be some evidence regarding stopping DHT or at least helping to stop it.

Keep posting please, i will follow this closely. Thanks for the thread.

    Hey Adam,

    Congrats on your transplant!

Personally I don't see reason using saw palmetto and fin at the same time. Both are blocking Alpha Reductase type ll. I would stick to one and if I would feel like needing to block more dht, I would just up my dosage on fin.

  11. Hello chaps,

Full 7 month update (since mid of January)...

More hair in mid-anterior scalp and crown are getting thicker and longer.

I upped my dosage with Finasteride for the last 2 weeks to 0.5mg/day everyday. No sides as far as I'm aware of.

Another great thing is I've got new baby hair growth on the hairline. That part was dead for 3 years now. Hopefully they will be able to mature to terminal hairs.

Obviously picture was taken closely with flashlight, so it looks worse than it is to a human eye, but you can see small "peach fuzz" in the front.

At this point HT surgeons proposing 2500-3500 grafts into hairline area (1/3 of scalp only), while in the beginning proposals were up to 5000 grafts covering whole head.

I'm hoping finasteride will kick in and regrowth a lot of hair in mid scalp so I will need to take care of hairline only.

He does amazing job. Which one would you choose - Dr. Bhatti or dr. Demirsoy? I haven't done much research on Bhatti besides some Youtube videos.

I'm still researching, but I think both surgeons are great. Seems like both docs don't have many recent reviews online and they are not active with posting their jobs as well. Since both of them are doing 80% of the procedure themselves and having 1 patient a day I assume it's difficult to spent time for posting. In the end of the day they're human beings like we are and wants to have their life as well.

If there would be a choice between these two surgeons I would go with my gut feeling.

    I agree with Mr S,

it really depends on the skin/hair contrast and the punch size. This is me at 0.5 guard with .09 and 1mm punches. My scars are more visible because I have dark hair lighter skin.

Looks neat! I've seen some people naturally have similar "patterns" without ht. Obviously not as many.

Is it possible to get tan on the scars so they get darker if let's say you shave it all the way down to 0 and wear it like that while on the sun?

#0 with not visible scars? Don't think this would happen to me. I haven't got my procedure done yet. I am trying to get as much info of what I should expect because I am just about to make a decision whether I should do FUE or not.

Check Dr. Bhatti videos for caucasian patients on YouTube. Some of them shave all the way down to 0 and you can't really tell they had something done. Obviously for trained eye you could see but compared to many other results some of those patients donor looks amazing.

  15. I've seen some results of fairly pale skin caucasian with no sign of fue surgery on #0. I would suggest go to a barber and ask for #4 and check if you can notice anything, if no, go to #3 and so on. Ask your barber for opinion. Go as low as you can/want until you see visible scarring. Hair grows very fast, so you will be able to get one guard up in a week or so.

thanks for the info, i will research on this .

were you using any oils like castor , coconut or olive oil  or simply massaging with bare hands

Don't remember his opinion on oils + massage, but in general he recommends just pure hand massage for 6 minute each excercise (pinching, pressing & stretching) and separate it in 3 segments. 1st massage - hairline, 2nd massage - vertex and 3rd massage - sides back and nape.

This guy is actually selling his ebook. Not for free. I'm not sure how does it look now, but few years back I bought it for $50. Can't say I wasted my money. Actually I do believe his ideas. The main things for hair loss in his opinion that he concluded through many years of research are high fibrosis (excess collagen in places where it shouldn't be) and high calcification in the (excess calcium in places where it shouldn't be).

In the link below he created a chart to understand better who is responsible for what + shows what Minoxidil & Finasteride are targeting and why they are working in most cases.

    https://images.app.goo.gl/GjvTkfQWVkQRyhho8

However his idea is to go all natural to decrease fibrosis and calcification through mechanical stimulation (vigorous scalp massages).

I couldn't find link on google for his full flowchart, so I just print screen'ed from the ebook I've got.

    Capture.PNG.33697dc41723c65feda52fe2ea1b1964.PNG

While all ideas makes sense, in the end it's extremely difficult to follow that massage regiment. He says regrowth starts at/around 6 month mark, before that don't expect anything.

P.S. I'm not trying to promote here anything. Just sharing my thoughts and experience.

Thanks for your continued support and guidance

I have dandruff issue on scalp since childhood, it also helps clear that ,

More over i think its killing 2 birds with one stone - whenever we massage minoxi, then coconut oil, then rice water, then baby shampoo.... a few times a day, we end up massaging our scalp.

Whether these liquids do anything or not lol that's a mystery but i think running fingers for each of those 10 min sessions, helps circulating scalp skin for blood flow quite a few times a day each day over and over again, i think that helps more than oil, minoxidil as that is the by product of this entire process but an effective one :)

I've read a ebook from Rob English about dutamesce massage (vigorous scalp massage) and done it myself for 6 months straight. It stopped my hair loss and I think that's the reason I still have much much more hair on my scalp than my brother had in my age as well as father. They're NW 6 and 7. I'm diffuse pattern 5 (still have hairs on my vertex).

The problem with that is you need to do it for 20 min morning and evening every day. Its painfull on arms as you need to really push it with all strength you have. Takes a lot of effort to keep doing it, so I quit as I had many changes in my life at once. Never started doing that again.

It does look like nice progress. Keep it up.

My dermatologist told me to use the dermaroller daily. Is there any hard evidence (I.e., a RCT) that suggests you should just do once a week? I typically rest or forget to do it about 1-2 times a week.

I think you should also try topical finasteride.

Do this stuff for one year, then go for a hair transplant to fix the front.

According to my research, you can use derma roller every day, but it can't be longer than 0.25mm. Minoxidil can be applied afterwards. In this case it just helps with absorption of minoxidil, but not much of stimulating collagen production.

In case study for derma roller they used 1.5mm once a week with minoxidil twice a day and they had great results. Keep in mind if needle of 0.5mm or longer has been used you have to wait at least 24h before applying minoxidil as you are risking it to enter your bloodstream and increase a chance of side effects, which can be very nasty.
