I went to Dr. Diep, seems to gets good results (I'm only one month post op, so no personal experience). However, my donor feels a bit more abused than others I have seen.
Wasn't a bad process overall though.
Canada is pretty close, why don't you also check out Hasson and Wong?
I chose Dr Diep for his hairline skills and familiarity with Asian hair. However, if I ever need another, I'm checking into H&W for the area behind hairline

Hows it looking?

Texted Dr. Diep the photos, he thinks it is just shock loss.

Yeah, I'm hoping so. It's sort of the spot where I was sleeping on with the airplane pillow they gave for the first few days. It's also pretty itchy.
Your donor area is looking great!

The bald spot is right at the border of the donor area (moreso on the donor side). Do you think it could be alopecia areata or just normal shock loss? My donor area in general is looking pretty rough. Attached is a close up and slightly more zoomed out picture of the back of my head.

Lol it's a good side swept hairstyle. I literally cant tell anything was done from this view xD. Do you plan to grow out your top and sides even more to conceal everything? Thats what i plan on doing at least
It's still a bit short so looks goofy. yeah I plan to grow out everything a lot more. Hopefully that helps.

Hello all I am currently 18 days post-op FUE and was wondering if anyone with experience started to shampoo and massage your recipient area like you would pre-surgery? I dont know why but I am still very gentle on massaging and cleaning the recipient area when i shower and Im afraid I may not be using enough force to get all these little tiny white crusts/flakes out of the scalp. I feel like I have a mental barrier that I can't pass because of just being delicate about the grafts post op surgery.
My question is: were you guys still very gentle on the recipient area this many days post op? Or did you just resume your normal showering routine massaging everywhere like you would when you shampoo your hair?
Went totally normal. I'll let you know how it works out in 8 months lol.

There's a guy on YouTube who did daily vlogs and he escaped the shed. Life of Steve

The last picture is amazing. You probably look 10 years younger!
I'm also impressed with your donor area immediately post op and on day 5. I only had about 2k grafts and it looks way more harvested than your total.

Looks pretty dense and actually looks a bit longer than in your original picture. I saw one guy on Youtube that never shed, hopefully you will be that lucky person who doesn't have to go through ugly duckling.

It started a couple of days ago and it itches. It is like right on the border of where my grafts ended, so not sure what is going on... I am pretty sure it is related to the procedure somehow though...

You've got a dense donor area. Can't wait for your results to start coming in man, I'm sure you'll be one of Diep's video patients.
Do you get a discount for that? LOL

😂😂 cracked me up that comment. I had the same problem and unfortunately my head was red for 2/3 months, I was lucky I could wear a hat due to outside work to cover the redness but in meetings I had to tell people so in the end I just told everyone. Just get it out the way and after 1 week no one will be bothered, happy growing.
LOL - first thing that happened when I walked in the office was someone commenting loudly on my "new hairstyle." Someone asked if I was going for the kpop boy band look....LOL - I ended having to directly tell most folks by the end of the first week. I felt insecure during client/prospect meetings as well.
Reactions weren't that bad (at least to my face).

I wanted Dr. Diep for the hairline, but if I have to do another FUE procedure to fill in behind, I may go with someone who uses a smaller punch.

I see, but the blood could have just been from the crust coming out itself, not necessarily meaning a graft had pulled out. i think its really hard to pull a graft out at this point in time, as in you would need tools to remove them from what I've seen.
This happened on the 8th day. I saw the graft itself come out...looked like a root or something lol and then blood started gushing. It was one of those frontal singles that he uses to zig zag with. I'm not too bummed over the loss as it was kind of just hanging out there in its own island in the front.

Thanks Melvin. Also just to be clear, the reason for this post really didn't have to do with the scar itself. I've had it for 4+ years and never really been bothered by it. As I said in the initial post, I am generally happy with the result of the surgery, and I've even suggested Dr. Diep to a friend who asked. However, I always thought that it would not be a problem to have it filled in when the time came. The difficulty with scheduling the follow-up and my experience with his office is the reason for this post, not his work itself.
It took me 5 months to get an appointment and I went in for a full 2k graft FUE. So, I think they are just slammed.

Great post man and from I have been researching i do believe its just the crack where there is no hair there have just been shed and you cant see them. However, how did you end up losing the 1 graft that started to bleed if i may ask?
There was one single in the front with a stubborn crust, I think I rubbed it too hard and the crust stuck to my finger and created too much friction and pulled the graft out.

Going back to work tomorrow and the redness is still there. Left the top long, so I can do some weird comb forward thing to cover it up, however I think I am going to have to just be open about it.
