  1. WAW System was developed by Dr Devroye and is one of the best systems for motorized extraction. A lot of top surgeons switched from manual to motorized extraction recently. However, the surgeon is still more important than the tool, now matter if manual or motorized. Cheap clinics often use oldschool motorized punches (originally made for dentists). This can lead to high transection rate.
  2. My surgery was split in 2 parts. I got 2.000 grafts for the hairline in April 2019 and last week I had my second surgery, 2.600 grafts for the middle part. The surgeon added a few grafts to the hairline. It was his idea, for me it wasn't necessary. I am 36 now and I hope, I am done with transplants for a longer time. My family history is more like a NW 4-5, early balding, but sides are pretty stable till 70 years.
  3. I have very fine hair and I do not use Fin or Minox, I got my transplant 1.5 years ago. I am pretty happy with my result, my frontal third was basically bald, only a small amount miniaturized hair left. Don't expect it to be super dense, because 50-60 grafts / cm² is the max to implant. The advantage ist, fine hair looks very natural, so the transplant ist hardly to detect. My surgeon said the same, for perfect density, you need a touch up. Touch ups a way less effort, because you only need a few grafts and no full shave. I added a current picture of my hairline. The white dots are from a crappy hairspray I bought on vacation. Will never use that again 😬
  4. I had the same problem, crazy pain in the donor area, especially at night. It happened to me day 6 to day 11 post-OP. On the first 5 days i had almost no pain anywhere and my donor area looked super clean, the operation was hardly to detect. My doctor said it was the healing of the nerves and gave the same advice as SL, Vitamin B and Aloe Vera.
  5. In Areas, where the spreading wasn't stopped early enough, the death rates are frightening. In most parts of the world the lockdown prevented situations as in New York or Italy. See this article for New York https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2020/04/10/upshot/coronavirus-deaths-new-york-city.html In Northern Italy there are Cities, where the death rate in March 2020 is 6 or 7 times higher than in March 2019, 2018... this is not comparable to influenza at all.
  6. Can you post a picture of your current status? It is possible to hide the surgery, if you only get 1.- or 2.000 grafts in your Hairline done and have a fringe hairstyle. Your donor area has to be shaved, but it looks pretty normal after a few weeks of vacation. Note, that not every surgeon is willing to perform with a partial shave. If you are a norwood 4 or higher and need a big amount of grafts, it is almost impossible to hide the surgery, your recipient will be red and look really ugly for 2 or 3 months, once you start shedding.
