I would lie if I wouldn't say that you sound very educated
Looking at the good things first, very appreciative of the fact that such procedures exist. Secondly, good job to everybody undergoing them
Like it was mentioned, it means a lot to us but we can't go discussing it in the public. I would say that there's a greater need for more men to undergo a HT than for us to be quiet about it, but this is society, so here you go...
Unless one is more than NW 3 (NW 4+), I truly hope that one procedure is more than you need and then you can continue performing other procedures if necessary to further bolster other "aspects" of your life. However, I am a full believer that hair is a very important component in a man's beauty and it's relatively easy to "fix" (compared to face or height)
There is no medical need for a man to get a transplant. Thank you for the compliment on my education Get your ducks in a row before you try to throw out your insults. Reread your post.

Your transplant is much more important to you than to anyone else. 50% of the population could care less if you even have a head. Women will only notice if they are interested in you, otherwise you are invisible. One thing to understand is that it is not about you, it is about them. Say nothing about getting a transplant. the men won't care at all unless they want to get one also. The women will file it in their memory banks forever, and you will always be the guy who got the transplant. A woman can get a boob job and it is accepted, even though the girls will still talk about her behind her back. DON'T TELL ANYBODY ANYTHING.

I have had both FUT and FUE. I thought FUT was much easier. Since I don't wear short hair it is no problem hiding the FUT scar. Interestingly when I had FUE and they shaved my donor area, I appeared to have 2 FUT scars, and I know darn well there should only be one, and the FUT doctor only removed staples from one incision. This is a mystery.

I retired in 2005 from one job and went to a retirement party about a year after my first transplant in 2011, and One guy asked why I was the only one who was looking younger than when I retired. I just laughed and drank another beer.

Medina that is much less than I paid for 2300, and I consider that I got a good price with good results. About 15 months post op.

My advice is avoid surgery and invest in some good hair fibers. Also, try finasteride, minoxidil and dermarolling.
I notice you are not big on crown transplants. The only area I could use help with is the crown..

I saw that on my stepson, but the hair grew back. I can't remember the name of it.

Does Artificial Intelligence have a future in Hair Transplants? I could see a robot placing grafts in a fraction of the time a surgeon would take, and with better precision.

I'm going to get my first transplant in a month or so.
I've been thinking about when will I need a new one because of the continuation of the hair fall.
I'm 37 now, so I have years ahead of hair loss, basically I'm worried I might not have enough in the future.
Is this a problem?
Thanks.
There are way too many variables for anyone to give you a very concrete answer, especially since you are very far away from knowing the results of your first transplant. There are many here who can give you good advice, but much more data will be needed. You may want to have your first transplant, wait a year, and come back with your questions including pictures. Be sure to express your concerns with your surgeon.

Stay strong, soldier. 2 months for me was the "suck-iest" part
Interesting. I was hoping for 6 months or at least 9 months at the latest (in the worst case)
To clarify, are we talking about the end result (which can take up to 18-24 months) or something which beats whatever hairline was present before?
Sorry about that I was talking about something closer to the end result. At 6 months you should at least see the promise of what is to come.

I am also 72. I see that you have not gone gray. Are you coloring your hair. Other than gray around the ears my hair has stayed brown. I too have a balding spot on the crown, but enough is enough. I only had 2 procedures one FUT and one FUE in 2011 and 2018 respectively. I was in Walmart yesterday and I saw myself in a mirror and I was amazed at how thick my hair looked. I don't use any fibers. I probably have much more donor hair, but I am done with transplants. Styling my hair has become a much bigger issue now that I have hair. Young guys should realize that they will care about how they look as they grow older.

Why do they use temporary dye, and if is basically a tattoo why not use a tattoo artist who may be more skilled than a doctor. I think I just answered my own question since SMP uses different size needles than Tattoo. I will come back to my other question as to why they use temporary dye.

So I am thinking of getting and FUE Hair Transplant sometime in the next year. My question is, how long until the donor area looks normal(ish) again? As well as the redness of the transplant area? Asking because I plan on taking time off work and am curious how long this process takes. I'm sure it various for everyone, just looking to get a general idea. Thank you.
The one question I should have asked was whether you wear your hair long or short? Most on here default to short hair, while I think long hair.
-
Depending on the length of your hair it could take months before the donor area looks normal.

I am a little surprised nobody has responded to your post.I like your plan of washing your hair. I also let my hair air dry, and my hair is longer than yours. I continued doing that for 2-3 months, but others will tell you that you only need a week or so. I err on the side of caution. I can't say anything about the medications because I don't use them. As far as shampoo goes I use Biotin Collagen Shampoo and Conditioner that I buy at Walmart, and I like it. I am 14 months post transplant and I experienced no shedding, but that is not the norm.

This is true, but what about us that went bald young, it’s even worse. I recall being 27 and not being carded for liquor. I was with all of my friends and they’re all being carded except me. Terrible feeling. Now at 34 I still get carded.
For me getting a hair transplant made me normal again; it made me feel how it should’ve been, and I think a lot of younger guys feel the same But I agree anything that boosts your confidence and is a self-improvement should be done.
I can't relate to losing hair at 27 because I really didn't notice my hair loss until my 40s. Nobody at 27 wants to look old. Hair transplants at any age surely improve your self confidence, but I believe it would have a higher impact at 27. Basically it improves the dating game especially for a young man.

If you wana compare a mesh baseball cap with a bucket hat, which one would be the best? (afraid of flat hat closeness) I'm a bit concerned about the breathability.
I would avoid the mesh because it lets in sunlight.

A bucket hat that blocks all uv light from reaching your scalp.
I live in Florida so the UV blocker worked the best for me.

This forum is an excellent source of information. Growing old is a bitch, and a bald head is a big part of that. I say anything you can do to improve your looks should be done. I am 14 months post my last transplant, and I am happy with the results.

As an Official Old Man at 72, it is a thin line we walk. Trying to look too young is a deadly sin. We have all seen people with jet Black hair, and it just does not look natural. Looking like something that could naturally be is VERY important. If I walked around with a young guys haircut it would look foolish - the same thing with clothes.

Beware of women, they notice everything. Men don't know if other guys are even breathing, unless you gain a lot of weight. Only one guy knows I had transplants, and that is only because I told him. I passed the crucial test when a lady at work who notices everything didn't notice. My transplants were 7 years apart so I had incremental progress. I have much more hair than I had 10 years ago, but unless you are talking about a hot girl nobody remembers what you looked like 10 years ago. Most people are just not that observant. It is much more obvious to you than it is to others. Like you - self conscious about the transplant - people are self involved in their own appearance. Half of the population will notice nothing, and the women will only care about it if they are interested in you.

LaserCap, don't you feel that the amount of grafts he had in such a short time could be a contributing factor?
How do people try to explain your improved looks after a hair transplant?
