    Hi guys

I had the misfortune to begin losing my hair from the rear, which meant that I had the pleasure of being informed about my MPB. That was way back in 1999 when I was 25 years old. I can't say I took it very well, and spent the next few years checking the patch with a vanity mirror about 20-30 times a day.

I was hardly the most IT savvy of people in those days and knew nothing about the internet, so it never occurred to me that there might be things I could do to slow down the process.

By the time I did find out about Minox and Fin in 2004 I had a pretty obvious tonsure developing, though the hair at the front of my head remained intact.

I then discovered Toppik in 2007 or thereabouts from another website and overnight my life changed. For the first few weeks I noticed the puzzled looks on my colleagues faces and even caught one on his tiptoes behind me trying to see what I'd done to my patch.

I'm fairly sure they all thought I'd had a transplant, but no-one was open enough to quiz me on the subject.

Thank god because I've got no idea what I'd have replied.

Anyway, once I began to live the lie, so to speak it was hard to break out of the cycle. Wind and rain became my sworn enemies and I'd flinch violently if anyone went anywhere near my hair.

Still, I managed to avoid any humiliating experiences for several years. Then in 2012 without any warning my employer changed the nature of my role at work, which meant I'd be spending a large amount of time outdoors.

This made things a little awkward as anyone who's used microfibres will tell you, so I added Dermatch to my regimen. Luckily this seemed to hold up pretty well against rain, but I was still terrified of anyone looking closely at the rear of my head. I'd go so far as to say it became my worst nightmare.

By 2015 my patch was pretty much a slick and I was wearing my hair at a grade 1 buzz cut, with topical shading all over my head. I walked sideways whenever anyone was anywhere near me, wouldn't answer my own door or go in my own garden without a hat on, and spent hours each day removing and re-attempting to blend a natural colour to the skin on the rear of my head.

The final straw was when I realised I was even hiding my head from my 2 year old son, who may or may not have noticed that daddy sometimes looked different at the back.

I was too much of a coward to just out myself as being bald, even though most people probably knew anyway. So I opted for SMP at a clinic that just opened near my home. They were doing some pretty good deals, franchised from Milena Lardi and I thought "why not?"

It's been six months and I relaised the other day that I haven't checked with vanity the mirror for the last two months. This from a man who has spent literally years of his life wasted there.

I'm not even sure if I'll get a top up now. I love the results, but the most important thing to me now is that I'm not worried about answering the door to a neighbour or going in my garden.

    Why won't you get a top-up?

    Hello everyone,

I started to use this forum few months ago when I was looking for a solution to my hair loss and now i have to share my progress.

I am an Italian dude, I started to lose my hair when i was 21 more or less,  i wasn't that much bothered about it, then it  started to be really noticeable at 22, I tried Finasteride, RU, CB0301 and almost any sort of vitamins/supplement you can find on the internet, unfortunatly i got sides with Fin and antiandrogens in general, vitamins didn't worked as well as any supplement i've tried....

In June 2018 I started 5% Minoxidil twice a day, it was working so well that i regrow almost all my hair back, then, the effects, however, lasted  for 6 - 8 months and after 8 months i was already at baseline again, my dad is a NW5 at 52 y o, my grandpa instead was bald at 25,  I think i'll probably be a NW6-NW7 before 30 too...

Anyway, after months and months of research, i realized that Hair transplants aren't a viable solution for me as i'm young (24 now) and my hair genetics sucks :(

Of course my confidence went down a lot, i've been so stressed out that I started to avoid social interactions, trying to pick up girls and on top of that  i had a sense of inferiority, because i felt like i had something less than others... The alopecia progressed and I decided i needed to stop blaming my genetics and that i had to do something because i wasn't living anymore, i was just surviving, waiting to die.

I started to browse the internet looking for alternative solutions other than HTs and i thought that maybe a SMP +  Low density FUE could have been a great solution.

In this forum i saw diffent pictures of different SMP Practitioners, I saw some great and natural results from a studio close to my city, I'm talking about Men's Ink Tricopigmentation.

I contacted them, they have great prices, amazing natural results on their Instagram page and the girl i talked with (Debora Cetrulo) was kind and  honest about the expectations I could have had and also her thoughts on my situation, I decided to book my first session in November.

My expectations were that even with SMP, i wouldn't have been able to accept my situation and  I was even scared that someone could spot my tatto.

This has been far from the truth, the SMP looks AMAZING, it's so realistic that i can't even tell where my native hair begins, most people ask me why I decided to shave my head as a fullhead :D

Confidence went up a lot and I finally feel happy about myself and i started to live my life again...

I found them thru this forum so i wanted to share my progress and thoughts with you... If you have any questions, don't be afraid to ask me whatever you want!

Here's the pics, here's 2 weeks worth of growth

Here's instead is 1 day after shaving with the clipper, as you can see i had diffuse thinning on top with a NW3- NW4 pattern and some vertex balding

    Then here's the after

In my opinion this is one of the best results i saw online, for now i'm super happy, I'm just worried for the future as i love this look with 2-3 days worth of growth as it has the 3D effects and it is dark enough to fool people into believing that i still have all my native hair, so this is why i think my fight against hair loss is not ended yet, i think i'll undergo a low density hair transplant, maybe with a little bit of beard or body hair in general as i want to keep this lenght and i'm scared that after a HT my donor zone will look too depleted and different with such short hair, of course i'd do the SMP even in the donor zone but my opinion on SMP over scar tissue isn't clear yet...

For now i can't complain and i'd advice any of you guys to go for a SMP if you are wondering if it's the right choice for you...

Men's Ink is in Milan, Italy, but they also works in Spain sometimes, they have been the best IMO in terms of realisticity and they have fair prices compared to others famous brands :)

I think your scalp looked okay before your procedure but in the 'after' photo it looks simply amazing!  Your crown looks much more dense and your result looks so natural.

Are you able to shave with a regular disposable razor blade or would a razor blade possibly remove the ink?

  3. Dear Milena Lardi,

I have observed your work as well as the work of your students and it is quite beautiful.

The temporary nature of your product is equally impressive since it does not require long term commitment on the part of the client.

My only issue is my own ignorance.  I do not have a background in chemistry, dermatology or physiology and am therefore wholly un-educated in the understanding of how these pigments are released from the body and the entire physiological response in general.

I have read your assertions on this page regarding the safety of the process, but I and perhaps others are still wary of negative consequences.

Can you please provide me a definitive  explanation of how the body processes these minerals and then safely  releases them from the body?

    Thank you

Hey Ian, thank you for the input! I'd like to clarify a few things.

I guess what I meant to say is if this happened to me later in life I wouldn't be so worried, but I know I'd like to have some hair back for the next 5-10 years.

To be clear: I was 100% ready to deposit and go to Erdogan/ASMED (or any other top clinic in Turkey or Europe) since I thought they have the best reputation and the graft count was very reasonable. However, I figured since I'm in the US I should reach out to more US doctors and get their feedback just in case. Most all of them have said along the lines that 3000 grafts is far too much for me and I'll be over-harvested. Some also strongly recommended FUT since I can always do FUE later if I need it.

I am concerned that their statement that my donor area will be over-harvested was under the impression that I am going to some sort of "hair mill" for like $1000 or something really low cost compared to their US clinics. The doctors that emphasized that FUT is ideal for me also seemed biased as they are able to do FUT for a price similar to FUE in Turkey, and they wanted to get me in for a consultation. I don't mean to sound skeptical since they mean well, but I want to be cautious about who I listen to. This is why I wanted to open up to this forum.

I'm also graduating very soon, and will have an indefinite amount of free time to recover/travel/etc. I don't think I can pull off taking time off for recovery/ being seen during recovery when I am working full time later next year and beyond.

    You're a fool.

    I would consider only:

    Cooley

    Bernstein

    Wong

If you think they're too expensive, consider the expense of regret.

    Hello!

I have been interested in a hair transplant for 2 years. I am 24 years old, and my hair loss has halted since I started taking Finasteride 2 years ago and Minoxidil 1 year ago.

    See images here: https://imgur.com/a/Hbb8qSL

Currently, I am planning on getting an FUE procedure with Dr. Koray Erdogan. His clinic is recommending 2500-3200 grafts and settled on 3000. I am concerned this might be a bit much but I also like the idea of not having to get another transplant later. He will be doing the hole incisions himself and his surgical staff is doing the implantation.

The reason I am going to Turkey is not simply cost— I am willing to pay a premium for the best hair surgeon in Turkey (or elsewhere), not a random "hair mill". I have received quotes that are much more for way less reputable doctors in the US.

I would appreciate any feedback on:

    - ASMED/ Koray Erdogan's clinic. Are there other clinics that would be worth inquiring about?

    - Their graft quote (is this too much or too little?)

    - Should I consider an FUT over an FUE? I like to keep the sides and back of my head short, so an FUT does not seem ideal because of the scar.

    - Is it possible to get a FUE procedure done without shaving the top of my head?

Other background: If I were in my 30s or older I wouldn't really care about the hair loss and would just shave it, but I'm not a big fan of this look for my mid 20s.

    Thank you all so much!

    No.

I require most men to buzz (not blade shave) their hair to a length of 1/16 inch for my application. Because this is one-time procedure, I don't get men coming back so I can take their photos. Most of my clients are from out-of-state and international because they don't have to come back for additional sessions. So I don't get them "stopping by" to give me the opportunity to take photos, but I have attached (an immediate after) exmaple. Some men send me photos but the photos are not of the quality I would like to post on my website. In addition, I can only recall a handful of men that decided to grow their hair back out after the application of my system as they were all so thrilled with the look and ease of the buzz cut.

But if you go into my Long Term Results Gallery you can see photos post-procedures at various stages. My Hair Transplant Repair Gallery is another page where you can see the befores and afters of my HT clients. My follicle replication camouflages the light areas of the scalp where the is hair either missing or thin, so it does add to the thickness look of a hair transplant the way topicals do. But as one of the above posters misunderstood, be aware that all the photos in my galleries were taken immediately after The Weston System application so hairlines will look hard and dark.

    weston-system-after-long-hair.thumb.JPG.b6aa2bd53789452772d43953396e80c8.JPG

Why would you show the unflattering photos of clients immediately after having undergone the procedure?

Doesn't seem like a good marketing move to me.

You can see how potential clients will be confused, thinking that this is the final outcome look.?

I'm a young diffuse thinner not currently on any medication as I had a very bad reaction from fin and dus separately. Currently, Im happy to trim my hair all the way down to a 0.1 and have some temp SMP done but was thinking if a HT would be possible in the future. Let me know your thoughts guys and as I said earlier I had a bad experience with the meds so please so "get on the fin ASAP" comments.  The pictures are from last week before a hair cut, this is the longest I've grown out my donor area in a very long time. Interested on your thoughts on my donor area so drop some knowledge guys. IMG_1550-1.thumb.jpg.779599b95502643f0fb1c71233e0d1f5.jpg??
