Looking on course.  I'm 6 weeks post op just posted my pics my hairline has shed alot. I  notice you still have transplanted hairs in hairline when did you stop shedding massively? Or are you still shedding?

  2. 6 Weeks Post-Op Update

Hey guys it's been 6 weeks since my visit to Asmed ( Dr Erdogan ) so check out the photos below. I've shed about 95% of the transplanted hairs and I am into that ugly ducking stage. I am really happy with how the donor area is healing - in the photo it is probably the equivalent of a number 4 at the back. I am also using 99% Pure Aloe Vera gel for the donor area. Occasionally it gets really itchy on the crown so I use the Zertek drug the clinic gave me and massage a tiny bit of Aloe Vera onto the itchy area. There has not been any pain for weeks and very little redness. It's far too early to say weather it will be a natural well angled hairline but cannot stop looking at every  small detail, I know this is normal and no matter how much you know before hand once you get that transplant you just cant help it!

No problem, this is the point we are discussing, since Asmed uses several teams of techs for the extractions it is not business as usual as you said, doctor error is removed completely from this picture since he is barely involved in the procedure except for making the incisions. I personally thought he would do the extractions because i had not done my research, but i got the idea from my email correspondence with the clinic that it was him and Dilek that did the surgery.

In the end i largely agree with Melvin, obviously i'm not botched when compared to the example he posted in the other thread of Sanjar, i can't believe hat was done to him that poor guy.. But i don't think i am wrong to be unhappy at this point knowing i will need a touch up in the future to make it presentable, not perfect but presentable.

I also completely disagree with Melvin saying i would never have been happy, i resent that, just because i am unhappy now doesn't mean my expectations are too high, i want a natural transplant that doesn't make me look like a bald guy, not brad pitt hair.

Payam. I understand you are trying to create awareness of the clinic's problems and all points you make have validity to it. What do you want to happen on their part? An apology? a reason why it happened? or how they can fix things? Maybe ask for a partial refund - not a repair from them. The fact is none of this is going to make you result better and once you lose confidence in a clinic you should not go back it is just crazy to go back to them now. So you need to think forwards and how can you make the best of what donor you have remaining and pick a surgeon that ticks all your boxes now that you know so much more. The problem is from all the so called top surgeons in the world Dr Erdogan is probably the most affordable in the sense that people can find a way of raising that sort of cash somehow. So as a result people think well there is no other good option for them and pick Asmed because they really want to sort their problem out. However, you are now in a situation that you simply cannot afford to pick a clinic based on a balance of quality and price. It has to be completely in terms of track record of repairing, high quality, ethics and attention to detail. Unfortunately that usually comes at a cost but if you cannot afford that then wait until you can as surgery will always be there. Use what donor you have got very carefully - you have a lifeline (you have not been botched) its is more than repairable.

You are wilfully ignoring the core of the criticism and focusing on the techs. Which Canadian, Belgian or Spanish surgery has 4 patients a day and the doctor only monitoring it via cctv? Is it unreasonable to think that 4 teams of techs (8 in total doing the extractions) have different skill levels, and that is why we are seeing inconsistencies? I am genuinely asking and would like to know if i am being unreasonable

Are you saying it is because of this the reason for your results ? If it is then fair enough but if you are just saying it to find as many possible reasons for failure then that's wrong. Also you said 8 in total doing extractions. It's 1 tech does all the extractions for 1 patient. You need to be precise and if you want people to trust your opinion then you need to state what is true as well because the moment you make up certain points you lose credibility and infact most people will stop listening or caring about your opinions. It's simple now. Stop these posts , get to your 12 month mark, consult some doctor only clinics for repair and go for it.

  5. 3 weeks Post-Op

Below are photos of 3 weeks post-op. Scabs are well and truly all gone. They pretty much came out at 2 weeks. I have shed a few more hairs and I am certain some more hairs had shed with the scabs which is as expected. I should at anytime between now the next 2-3 weeks start that dread shed which I am kind of looking forward to as I just want this whole process to get started. Hairline shape seems fine not too high not too low either - its probably exactly how it should be with my face shape. The middle of the hair line is exactly 5 cm to the midpoint in between the eyebrows which is just right for my ethnicity. My co coordinator has said as all the scabs are gone to stop using the lotion supplied as that is only required to help take the scabs off. She asked me for my photos and I just sent them to her and she said everything looks to be as expected.

I've got slight swelling in the front just behind the hairline which is not visible but just feels stiff but I have been told that is normal and some people even have that for a few months! Other than that no pain, just a bit of redness in donor area for which I will start using pure Aloe Vera gel as the clinic advised. As 3 weeks have gone I do not need to use the shampoo they gave anymore (SebaMed) but I will continue it until its finished and start using a baby shampoo or buy SebaMed my self. I am glad to stop sleeping like a mummy, I was doing that for 2 weeks and I have slowly gone to normal positions as the clinic advised after 2 weeks.

Is Dr. Koray Erdogan operates himself? From taking the grafts and implant in the head? I heard that he is not doing the whole process and he lets his unexperienced stuff to do this which result in very bad results and unsatisfied customers.

I myself was considering to go on his clinic hoping that he will do all the process, from end to start but apparently, it's not how I was thinking or I'm I wrong? Can anyone tell me from their own experience, who has been to him and made a HT how it is?

I really wanted to make myself a HT on him... I've seen such good results.

I went to asmed early October.  Click the link below for my experience and photos

Erdogan was much more involved earlier with his lead tech named Dilek whom he supervised, now he barely enters one of FOUR operating rooms to do the incisions and leaves supervision to Dilek, a tech supervising techs. How is this not raising eyebrows? Is he trying to set a record for most surgeries in a day? Are 4 completely tech driven and supervised surgeries in parallel also the industry standard? If he had been more involved I would have accepted the result, but now of course I worry that maybe it was due to negligence. Of course the assumption when booking a surgery with Erdogan is that he will perform most parts of it or be very involved, how can you even argue this point.

    Payam

That is exactly why you should ask these questions several times before you even book surgery. These are all basic questions among more that should be asked. Before I booked I had done extensive research and spoke to many experts in the field and used that education to ask the relevant questions. So once i booked I knew that he does 4 patients a day, he only does incisions and supervises through the cameras in each operating room and watches from his office. I also asked how they separate single hairs and they said they have just started using microscopes so i was well aware of what was to come. As for Dilek she is very well known in the industry and is one of the best senior techs around she has been at Asmed since the start and speaking to people that know her she often corrects Dr Erdogan and tells him how something should be done. She has extensive experience in the field in fact people have specifically requested her to do their extractions that is how good she is. That said, if you had asked these basic questions in the first place and knowing those answers would you have still gone with Asmed? The fact that you did not ask this - and if you now answer yes you did ask these questions then you must not blame their model for your results because you knew exactly what you were going in for. If you did not ask these questions then that is  your fault and no one else. I can imagine your response - " But that is no excuse for a bad result" and I agree to a point.

What you need to do now is stop going round and round in circles because it is not achieving anything. Focus on  getting to the 12 month mark at least and continue to send photos to the clinic. Then focus on how you can repair what has happened and honestly it would not require a big job to repair your concerns be grateful that it is not a botch job where no amount of repair can fix it. And this time go to a surgeon (no matter what the cost) whos model is what YOU expect (dr. does all extraction/incisions/1 patient a day) do not make the mistake of going back to Asmed because you would be completely contradicting what you have been complaining about.

So stop with the forums because it is driving you mad. You are just getting into arguments with people - you have your view they have theirs and no one is helping anyone. Focus on what needs to be done going forwards.

  8. 10 days post op  update. Photos below. Most of the scabs have fallen off. As a result of scabs falling off, the scalp is more visible in fact the days after a transplant is the most dense it will will ever look because between each hair there are scabs and redness which give it the appearance of a denser look.- not many people realise this and freak when comparing the final results to how dense it was post op. The native hairs on the outside of the transplanted zone are growing more and therefore accentuating the disparity. Redness has long gone. In terms of shedding I've seen 1 or 2 hairs fall out nothing major but I have tended to close my eyes when washing so who knows although I get the feeling that i might shed earlier than most.

2100 grafts went into the crown, 2500 into hairline and first 3rd, 400 grafts mid-scalp.

First of all i m sorry for you. but you are only 7 months.Do you think you wait enough? it's hard at 7 months and  wanna see you final result, my hair started to look better only after 23 months.and bealive me it looks way much better now then back at 7 months. How do you think your hair should look at 7 months?

Joyny how are you? Did it really improve alot ? I thought you are going for repair ? I went to asmed last week my photos are in the link

  10. Good stuff mate.... I just came back from Asmed on Friday (also met another aussie out there at Asmed!). At what point during your 1st HT recovery did you approach them about the 2nd transplant? Didn't they say just wait until 12 months fully before they book you in? And also you said before the 2nd HT that you wanted to bring the temples in more to create more youthful look but It didn't seem like you had this done?

  11. Dr Erdogan advised me and most of his patients to start finesteride. I slowly got onto it a couple of times a week then 3 , 4 ,5 then after 3 months i was on it every day and had no sides, it is a good way to get on to it otherwise if you shock your body with it you will get some sides. It is better to be on the drug close to a year before surgery to see what hair you can regain and hair to make strong. Take your time there don't rush anything. And yes you can pay in sterling its so much easier than changing your money here and get charged fees etc...

  12. 7 days Post-op photos. Most of my swelling has gone. Using the thermo gel from the freezer for remaining swelling. Still have some sharpish pain on the back of the head so i'm taking ibuprofen occasionally and that tends to do the job.  Still sleeping upwards with a neck pillow and even sitting up but sleeping is just too uncomfortable right now. Cannot wait till after 10 days to stop sleeping like a mummy!  Some scabs have come off too. Donor area is healing nicely, virtually no redness anywhere. This is my 5th day using the lotion and shampoo Asmed provided I'm not trying to wash too firmly at the moment just letting the water do the job and fingers at more stubborn areas. Still feel they could have gone a very tiny amount lower in the corner of the hairline but Dr Erdogan said it will look lower once grown..anyone agree? Anyway I will post once a week or 2 so if you want any more specific photos or questions just ask here.
