This was another option I had been considering.
Especially seeing as the journey from Australia isn't as long.
Looking at this Dr's results on his website appears he is a bit hit n miss. Some great results, some meh.

I asked myself the same question and it ultimately led me to book with Konior, even though he's one of the pricier surgeons out there.
You only get one hairline -- better to pay extra for something that will affect your appearance for the rest of your life (even if your hair continues to thin).
This is good advice. Hairlines can always be refined though, unless it's too low in which case it might be a bit harder.

In on this for replies. Wanted to know the same thing

This is ridiculously good. Bravo. You can see where the original hairline design line had been drawn and the higher hairline actually works a lot better. Guy must be blown away.
As mentioned above, the wet vs dry comparison isn't ideal

Here is my hair after haircut. I got a 2 on the side and she’s letting the top grow out (Insode lighting —first 2 pictures) This would be 6 months 1 week.
i also posting some photo I took today in car (last 2 pictures) to show when you take photo very close vs 3 feet away you can see my density issues. I know I’m very early in process hoping for thickening even if I don’t get any new hairs growing
Does anyone recommend a good hair product to use for my type of hair. Last night I used a very light product and today I used a gel which seems too strong but I want the hair to hold in place
That is looking epic man!! The improvement over the last 2 months is really noticeable in my opinion. Only going to get better from here. Definitely subbing to this thread. As someone with finer hair it's great to see the potential results. Thanks for your contribution buddy

Hi,
JeanLDD is mentioning a very valid point. Hair characteristics can make a big difference in terms of the result achieved. Spanish hair can be a little thicker compared to other patients, but if you compare it with other nationalities, it may be thinner.
That said, Dr. Alcaide also treats patients with very fine hair, like these 2 examples (specially the 2nd one).
Kind regards,
The density in the second patient doesn't look great in my opinion. I understand it's fine hair but I think more grafts should've been used to create a better result. Maybe a second run would help? I wouldn't be happy if that was my final result, looks very doll like

Interesting, but one side looks natural, the other one does not. And from the front, you can see how it transitions left to right from a more natural and nuanced look to more of a straight edge. I wouldn't consider this a great hairline. A good one for sure, but the patient already had great characteristics. Needs a little tweaking on the right side (facing him).
That hairline is pretty damn good.. a second run with a few more grafts and you're looking at a home run
-
I would think so too, however, I'd love someone who has done it to give their 2 cents if possible?
I like to keep my hair quite shortish sometimes and want to know the shortest that I could keep it without the difference in density being too obvious.
Thanks for your answer though mate

I know this seems an odd question, but can anyone tell me what the recipient area would look like if you were to shave your head down to it and number 2 (4mm) after 12 months post surgery?
Would it look natural or would the graphs be obvious?

You're not wrong! I'd prefer to wait and get it right though.

Did you say there is quite a long waiting list for this surgeon?
Not 100% sure on waiting times but I believe it's roughly 1 year to 18 months. You'd have to confirm with them directly

she was booked 4 months out.
I actually saw her first, then Konior second (who had a 12+ month waitlist), then consulted a bunch of other doctors, and finally settled on her.
she was my first consultation so I did a LOT of work researching people before committing to her.
Hi Harry,
I am considering Nadimi myself, can you send me some pics please mate

What is Freitas pricing?
I believe it's around the 3 euro mark per graft. Best to get a quote if you are interested in him, just flick them over an email
-
I believe it might be something to do with his results being so good. Might not have time for new clients.
Ask them yourself if you like

Hahaha touche! Do tell Jean

Also its awesome to hear that you are getting compliments on your hair by the way man. I'm sure it's been a while in that department.

I had a friend recently question why the lengths at the front are shorter than the sides and suggesting I should go to a better hairdresser (who has been very impressed even after the 6 month mark of the first procedure) but nothing else. Probably a good sign that they don't deduce anything further from that. Recently had quite a few compliments on my hair too which wasn't happening after my first transplant either. I'm still slightly bugged by one area the size of a small coin in my crown not being absolutely perfect, similar situation on one side behind that hairline going back into the midscalp that could probably do with 400ish grafts, but I'm probably not far off peak potential transplant results.
If I had a procedure in future I would probably go to Konior because his involvement of all aspects of the procedure and also use of stick and place, but Freitas would definitely be a consideration also. I did the online consult with them before my second procedure and they suggested it would be an 18 month wait but someone on this forum who had a procedure with him said it is only a year if you go through specific patient reps of theirs. Either way at the time ASMED seemed a much better option than going through that waiting list, and still I think that was the best choice.
Also would mention that Freitas does use techs for extraction, but as does Devroye. I'd consider Rahal for FUT but probably not FUE. Not that its particularly worrying, but not a whole lot of patient or clinic posted results from Rahal at the moment to go off their current state of affairs. If you can put up with the Freitas waiting list I don't think there are any fundamentally better options for your situation.
Thanks mate I'm fairly certain I will pull the trigger with Freitas. His work is pretty amazing from what I have seen and seems to match what I am seeking.
Konior is apparently not taking on any new clients unfortunately, also he is around double the price of Freitas. I would definitely consider him if he was an option though.
I know it's highly likely that I will need more than one (possibly 3) procedures to get the best possible results but my hairline is the most important thing to me at this stage.
Would definitely consider going to Asmed for my 2nd /3rd for density behind the hairline.

Jean
Anyoneelse i should consider? Rahal maybe? I am determined to nail this thing, I'd rather spend the extra $$ to be able to sleep at night during those few months post op knowing I am in good hands.

Jean can you seriously consider making some kind of blog or website where you give your assessments of which HT surgeon is best for which hairloss concern you have? Your ability to summarise each surgeon's skillset is utterly impressive.
+1
There is no one on his level imo.

Thanks for your advice Jean. I know you are probably the most well researched guy on this forum so I appreciate your input. I'll wait for Freitas.
Question for you; how noticeable is your hair transplant in real life, as in daylight. Anyone ever notice?

Konior's waiting list was over a year and im the type of guy that hates waiting for my clothes to dry after i put them in the dryer so ...
Haha good point. A year isn't bad, it seems to be the standard for most good surgeons (Couto is 4+!!!)
-
Haha very true.
Not happy with Devroye? Why is that? I was actually considering him for mine. His work on his site looks pretty good, particularly some of the hairline work.
Can I ask why you decided not to go back to Konior?

As a fellow Sydney -sider who has had 2 HT's I'd suggest you look overseas. Seriously.
I just went through their gallery page on their website and it only has a few examples, none of which feature the hairline (the most important part!), and all of the pics are of only the top of their head. It's a very strange results gallery.
Hair transplants should be taken seriously, they are permanent - I mean had my last one messed up - so please do some more research, see what results you like, and take time to think about it.
Totally agree with this. Avoid Australia completely. Europe is generally our best bet.
Who did your HTs Phil?
-
Thanks Bill. Fair response.
I'm not out to discredit anyone, I just like to see both good and bad being openly discussed as it provides invaluable information to those of us on this journey.

Have you considered Asmed? Overall good quality Fue results and a very short wait list. A few undesirable results but have always come to the table to offer a resolution as far as I've seen.
