  1. This patient came to Dr. Arocha as an advanced NW 6. Dr. Arocha decided on a two-phased approach. The first phase consisted of a 2500 graft FUE hair transplant, focusing on the frontal to mid-scalp area. He recently came in for his one-year followup and had forgotten the extent of his hair loss. He is scheduled to come back for phase two of his restoration, which will consist of adding density and further reinforcing the hairline. 2. Hi Ritesh, It's always best to come into the office - or have a virtual consultation with the doctor so we can tailor a custom quote for you. This allows Dr. Arocha to conduct a full assessment and understand what your goals are. Consultations are free - and no obligation.
  3. This patient came in after a failed beard and eyebrow hair transplant procedure that was done at another location. He was seeking a solution to his unnatural looking outcome. He did a small beard corrective transplant in December to test the waters. Within a few months, he was stoked and full of excitement, returning to Arocha Hair Restoration to continue the corrective beard enhancement procedure and corrective eyebrow hair transplant. He presented to us with two problems: unwanted neck beard hair with multiple cowlicks and unnatural and sparse eyebrow. For the eyebrows, Dr. Arocha harvested from the scalp long hair FUE and placed the grafts with a lion implanter himself. The beard corrective enhancement procedure was performed harvesting through FUE from the neck beard. The after photos were taken 3 months (for the test spot) – and one week after his corrective hair transplantation procedures. Before: After: Before: After: Before: After: Before: After:
  4. This patient originally came to see Dr. Arocha nearly five years ago for a PRP treatment. And, three years ago, the patient decided he wanted to undergo an FUE hair transplant. Dr. Arocha and team did a ~2400 graft FUE procedure, with another PRP treatment at the time of his surgery. The after images were taken three years after his FUE transplant. 5. Hi all, Hair restoration outcomes are dependent on many factors, especially the hair characteristics. 2500 grafts with fine hair can produce a fine, soft and natural hair restoration outcome. While the same number of grafts with coarse or curly hair can produce a thicker result and cover a larger area. We are an equal opportunity hair restoration boutique - we work on people with all types of hair and work hard to improve their outcomes. For further information, view this presentation given by Dr. Arocha on hair characteristics:
  6. Thank you, Zinedine, We've seen prices for PRP vary widely depending on where you go. We have heard ranges from $500 - $2500. For example, a lot of dermatologist offices are recommending a set series of PRP treatments with bulk pricing. At our clinic, a series is almost never required - we get excellent results with one or two PRP treatments. And many times, just one PRP treatment is necessary when combined with Dr. Arocha's other treatment methods. But we agree, we think we will start to see this more and more.
  7. Dillpickle, We have to respectfully disagree with you. The patient has noticeably more volume in the transplanted area and a noticeable improvement in the plan area that was discussed and agreed upon with Dr. Arocha. Two years later, the result looks incredibly natural (no one would ever guess he had a transplant) for someone who has fine hair. It's age appropriate and an overall nice improvement for this patient. And, if he decides he wants more, Dr. Arocha didn't deplete his donor area completely, giving the patient options to work with in the future.
  8. This patient had a 2500 graft FUT procedure with a PRP treatment given at the time of surgery. The after images were taken 8 months, so he still has a bit of growing left to do. Also including an image of the scar so you can see what an FUT scar looks like fully healed. Before: After: Before: After: Before: After: Before: After: Scar:
  9. This patient came to Dr. Arocha with diffuse thinning throughout the frontal third. He wanted to reinforce his hairline, as well as re-establish his temporal peaks. He had a PRP treatment at the time of his 2500 graft FUE procedure. The after images were taken two years following his procedure. 10. Hi all, I wanted to provide an update for this particular patient. When we originally showed this case, he was four months post-op. He came in recently, and his result is now fully grown in! After 1: After 2: After 3: After 4:
  11. This patient wanted a beard transplant to enhance his cheeks and goatee area. Dr. Arocha did a 1200 graft FUE procedure, using a .85 mm punch to extract the grafts. He's still got some growing to do - at just five months after his procedure. You can see some early growth, as well as the signs of some stubble starting to come in. 12. Hi Steeeeve, We do have some pics that were taken immediately post-op. I really only have two clear ones, so I'll share those here.
  13. @5BetaReductasewe do not, unfortunately. The patient came in with his hair this length.
  14. This patient came to Dr. Arocha after a failed attempt at FUE from another clinic. If you look at the "before" images, this patient has visible scarring in the donor area at the back of his head. The threshold for visible detection is a .9 mm punch - using anything larger might be easier, but it leaves the patient with visible scarring, defeating the whole purpose of doing FUE in the the first place. Additionally, the result is incredibly sparse and unnatural looking. Dr. Arocha decided to move forward with an FUE on this particular patient, using our manual, .9 mm. punch. He used 1500 grafts to add density to the hairline, as well as conceal the unnatural-looking grafts the patient had from his previous FUE procedure. Nine months later, and this result is much more natural looking, and the patient is more confident - growing his hair out long again. Moral of the story: beware of clinics that allow their technicians to perform an entire procedure from start to finish. The doctor should always be the one making the sites (not the technicians), and ask about the punch size used during the procedure (this can impact the amount of visible scarring). 15. Hair transplants can work on patients with really fine hair too. This patient came in to see Dr. Arocha because he was thinning throughout the frontal third. Dr. Arocha did an FUE procedure using a .8 mm punch. After images were taken nearly three years from the date of his procedure. He also did a PRP treatment at the time of his procedure. I've included an "after" image of the donor area of this particular patient, and you cannot see any visible scarring. Before: After: Before: After: Before: After: Before: After: Before: After: After:
  16. The 2300 grafts did go a long way for this patient, and he has a lot of stubble representing new growth yet to come! Stay tuned....
  17. This patient came in to see Dr. Arocha to address thinning in the frontal third. Dr. Arocha did an approximately 2300 graft FUE procedure with a PRP treatment given at the time of the procedure. His after images were taken 14 months after his transplant, and he's still got some stubble coming in. Also including some photos that were taken post-op so you can view graft placement. 18. We wanted to share this result from a longtime patient of ours. He first came to Dr. Arocha approximately 4 years ago with severe thinning and recession. He wanted a permanent solution to address his hair loss. Dr. Arocha decided to take a multi-layered approach. This patient's very first procedure was an FUT procedure, of approximately 1000 grafts. The following year, he underwent a 1000 graft FUE procedure to continue to add density. That second procedure was followed by two smaller FUE procedures totaling another 1000 grafts to get this patient his ideal hairline! I've shown this patient over the years, but he came in last week for a follow-up, so I figured I'd share. The before images were taken before he had any of his transplants. He is on a medical regimen to mitigate any further progression of his genetic hair loss. Before: After: Before: After: Before: After: Before: After: Before: After:
  19. This patient came in to address severe thinning. Dr. Arocha decided to take a two-pronged approach. First, he performed a 1500 graft FUE procedure to re-establish the patient's hairline. He received a PRP treatment at the time of his FUE procedure. The patient also wanted to address the crown. Dr. Arocha decided to perform SMP (scalp micro pigmentation) in the patient's crown. After images were taken 14 months out from his FUE procedure. Before: After: Before: After: Before: After: Before: After: Before: After: Before: After: Before: After:
  20. @AladdinSanegreat question and thanks for asking. Engineering principles and many factors are involved when designing a beard. The patient's goals are also taken into account (the job of the doctor is to do what the patient wants, but also to keep him from doing things that are going to result in something less than natural). Undoubtedly, everyone is different and while the same principles apply to everyone, some results may differ based on what the patient has at the time of the consultation. Everyone needs to go through an obligatory healing period, and there are typically no restrictions thereafter. The patient can shave just like he always did. The instrumentation used is so small this will leave a microscar, which is not detectable by the eye, so the patient can be confident that if he shaves, it will be undetectable. One caveat: post-surgery, one has to use caution in exposing the newly transplanted area to any prolonged sun exposure - especially the early morning and afternoon sun for a period of four months!
  21. This patient came to see Dr. Arocha about 7 years ago to address the beginning stages of thinning on his temporal peaks and hairline. They came up with a plan to do a 2500 graft FUT procedure to strengthen those areas. He's seven years out from his procedure, and he stopped by the office the other day to say "hi." His hair still looks great and is proof that a transplant can withstand the test of time. Before: After: Before: After: Before: After: Before: After:
  22. This patient in his mid-30s came in with diffuse thinning from the front to the crown. He desired to improve the density in his hairline, and he underwent two FUE procedures of a combined 2500 grafts over two sessions. I'm sharing some post-op photos, and the after images were taken four years after his very first procedure. Before: Post-op: After: Before: Post-op: After: Post-op: After: Post-op: After: After:
