Hello guys. After 4 and half years since my terrible experience with Asmed clinic and Dr. Koray Erdogan and after reading a lot of stories and after seeing a lot of results, after speaking with almost 20 clinics I had my personal consultations with 3 clinics which I consider the best and from which I want to choose the doctor for my repair HT: Dr. Rafael De Freitas, Dr. Juan Couto (with him after approximately 1 year of waiting) and Dr. Jose Lorenzo. Two of them said that my hair transplant result from Asmed clinic is very bad in all ways, from unnatural bad hairline, through very low density in recipient area, through very high number of used grafts, till almost exhausted donor area. In their opinions my result was caused by combination of unexperienced technicians (nurses) and long time between extraction and implantation of grafts which caused low survivalence of grafts. The third one didn't want to speak much about reasons of my failed HT and he focused on his work and future. Dr. De Freitas estimated number of grafts which is necessary to repair my result as 2000. Dr. Couto and Dr. Lorenzo both as 1500. The best looking clinic is Clinica De Freitas. It is very nice and clean, it looks new. Fuexpert clinic (Dr. Couto) and Injerto Capillar Medilor (Dr. Lorenzo) seems to be older but also nice and clean. The best approach has Dr. Lorenzo. He checked my hair with microscope, draw the hairline also with laser, checked my hair dry and also wet and made some calculations. Dr. Couto also checked my hair with combe and with microscope, Dr. De Freitas just combed my hair. The best price offered me Dr. De Freitas. He usually asked 3,5 euro per first 1000 grafts and 2,5 euro per every next graft, but in repair cases is the price higher. But he offered me 2000 grafts for 6.000,- eur (hotel and one session of PRP included), one day operation and he usually does 3 patients in 2 days depending on difficulty. Nurses extracting grafts with micromotor and implantation does Dr. De Freitas. He schedules his patients on summer 2022. Dr. Couto usually asked 4,5 euro per graft, but in repair cases the price is 5,- eur. He offered me 1500 grafts for 7.500,- eur (nothing incuded), operation will be divided in 2 days because of he want to do it slow and perfect according low capacity donor area. He usually operates 2 patients in one day. His nurse Esteban extracting grafts manual or with micromotor and implantation does Dr. Couto personally. He said that my result will not be perfect as usually his results are, according previous HT and weak donor, but it will be much better than now. He also said that he would achieve much better result with 2500 grafts than Asmed achieved with 4500 grafts. Now he schedules his patients for summer 2022 (like e.g. Dr. De Freitas). I have luck because of some patient canceled his surgery in september 2021 and he offered me his date. Dr. Lorenzo asked 5 euro per first 2000 grafts and 2,5 euro per every next graft. He offered me 1500 grafts for 7.500,- eur (2 nights in hotel are included), one day operation and he usually operates 3 patients in 1 day. Nurses extracting grafts manually and Dr. Lorenzo implants 80% of grafts (the rests are implanted by staff!). He scheduled his patient for autumn 2021 (first aviliable dates he had in September 2021). Please, according this informations, who of these 3 doctors will you choose? Thank you for your every opinion in advance.

If you want to have HT in Turkey then HLC definitely. Maybe Dr. Keser if your case is small and he takes you. Forget about Asmed and Dr. Erdogan.

Thanks. It seems that they don´t take new patients for consultations and surgeries now. I read somewhere that they work with patients rescheduled according Covid 19.

The difference between a bad hair transplant and a good hair transplant. My hair transplant at Asmed clinic (Dr. Koray Erdogan) with 4500 grafts versus hair transplant of unknown patient performed by Dr. Jose Lorenzo with 2500 grafts. Almost twice as many grafts were used at the Asmed clinic to achieve a very poor result than at Dr. Lorenzo´s clinic to achieve a good result.

I agree. Also in my opinion Asmed is not an ethical clinic, according my experiences with them. I have their messages and emails, where they wrote me, first my result is normal, then my result was caused by discontinuing of finasteride, etc. They offered me 2nd HT with 2500 grafts for 6.250,- eur. They lied to Melvin that they offered me a free surgery and I rejected it and only then they offered it to me, at a time when I was booked repair HT at another cinic and paid a deposit. This is really unethical and unprofessional. I really appreciate Melvin and HRN for removing them from the list of recommended clinics. I also noticed two  things. 1. In my opinion there are too many repair HT, 2nd HT, touch ups at this clinic after 1st HT at this clinic. Probably every clinic needs sometimes to perform touch up, but isn´t that too much at this clinic? 2. In each case of thic clinic I´ve read it was stated that fewer grafts were estimated during the online consultations than during the operation. So it was also in my case. I asked if there was anyone who had the same or a lower number of grafts during operation than during the consultation. No one wrote... Does anyone know why there is a question in the questionnaire that the patient fills in before the surgery at this clinic, if patient will write about his surgery and the clinic?

Yes, it is true. Hair transplant at Asmed, its result and the clinic´s approach to it destroyed me mentally. Now, waiting for the repair HT at one of the most reputable clinics, I am afraid to go there after my experience...

I actually agree density is too low considering all the grafts used in a quite “relative small” area.

You started from a quite good situation where only the hairline was in need to be redesigned.

Styling your hair down helps a lot though, comparing to the picture you brushed them up.Still not satisfactory, but at least you can manage to cover a little better.

Thank you. Yes, I saw a lot of result, where larger areas has been solved with less number of grafts by reputable clinics. I was very stupid when I went to ASMED for HT. A lot of grafts were used and my donor area is almost exhausted. I regret it every day when I look in to the mirror. ASMED used 4500 grafts to change  3vertex to 2vertex, with lack density and strange, unnatural hairline. ASMED is well known for using large number of grafts (much more than other reputable clinics) to achieve their results. I hope my repair HT will be better, but after my experience with ASMED I am very scared.

3. Who used to exctract and implant follicules at FUExpert Clinic (doctor/staff)?

 

- Dr Couto seems to start the extraction process on the first day and then explains to his team what the extraction strategy is going to be and how many units of each type are needed, the team continues.

4. Is some package included to the price (accomodation/transfers/medical package/PRP/steam cells therapy, etc)?

 

- From reading on Youtube comments FUExpert Clinic does not offer packages (included on the price).

- They offer PRP sessions but they seem to be something extra, this means patients can decide to go for this treatment at a completely independent cost from the HT surgery.

 

About PRP´s, it would be interesting to here the costs and details of a one PRP session at FUExpert Clinic from any Couto´s patient 

5. Is it necessary to shave head or it is possible to do hair transplant also with unshaven head? If yes, is there some difference in price?

 

- Maybe Mancini could investigate this on his next visit to the clinic? 

 

6. How many patients do they operate at the clinic in one day?

 

- It seems like Dr Couto operates on a maximum of 2 patients per day at FUExpert Clinic, one of the patients in the morning and another one in the afternoon.

 

*Extra important points:

- Dr Couto never deals with the 2 patients at the same time.

- The number of grafts per day never exceeds much more than 1000 grafts so that this allows the team to work without stress.

- Complete respect of the times of the follicles outside the body.

 

Literally words of @RMancinii: "The feeling I had is that they work like a Swiss watch."

 

7. How long did you wait for 1st consultation?

 

- RMancini has not shared this info.

- It was 1 year from RMancini´s 1st consultation to the HT surgery.

 

*Important fact:

RMancini points out that the original date for his surgery was Sept. 2021, which would have made the wait to be 23 months. This changed because the Covid is forcing many international patients to cancel their surgeries since they can not fly into Spain.

8: Who drew your hairline before HT and how (according what)?

 

- Dr Couto makes the design drawing the hairline.

- Dr Couto marks the donor area planning the extraction.

- Dr Couto cuts the patient's hair.

Thank you for resume. It seems you are right in some points. The problem with best spanish clinic (Fuexpert, Clinica DeFreitas) is that they are very busy and they hardly write back. Also on social networks they write back prepared answers f.e.: Please contact us for personal consultations, or we are closed now for consultations, or our price are not fixed and will be set after personal consultations, etc... I  saw many cases of Dr. Couto published by his clinic on social networks and from the description of videos, some comments, and also from my phone call with Fuexpert clinic I noticed this:

1. They use manual and also micromotor method, but I don´t know on which circumstances it depends.

2. All steps of surgery are performed by the doctor (this is the sentence which the clinic wrote to me). They didn´t write that doctor is always Dr. Couto. @RManciniwrote that the team consist of Dr. Couto, another doctor and trained nurses. This is the differnce between answear which I got and experience of the patient.

3. On the clinic they operate 1 or max. 2 patients per day (this is another sentence which the clinic wrote to me). 

4. When I spoke with the Fuexpert clinic by phone in July, they told me that waiting time is 1,5 - 2 years between consultation and surgery. This may have changed due to the current situation with Covid-19. 

5. The price. I have read different prices on net, 4,50 Eur per graft and 5,- Eur per graft. Now is here explaination why.

But I haven´t found the answers to my other questions yet...

I have had surgery with 5 or 6 of the best FUE surgeons in the world (most consistent outstanding results, highest graft survival rates and close to a 100% patient satisfaction, almost non existent bad reviews after thousands of surgeries performed) and Couto is by a mile the best out of all of them. Second is Freitas. Third comes Feriduni. After that I would put Dr Lorenzo and Bruno Pinto.

The best BHT surgeon by far Mwamba and HLC (Ozgur)

 

 

 

Did you have 5 - 6 surgeries?  My rating is similar: 1. Dr. Couto, 2. Dr. De Freitas, 3. Dr. Lorenzo. If I went to the first HT, I would probably thinking about Dr. Ferreira...

My hair are the same since final result after HT at ASMED clinic and Dr. Erdogan. Lack density of frontal area (check the pic 1, red: my own hair, green: transplanted area). I spoke to ASMED but they still lie. First: ASMED consider my result normal, than: My result is caused by discontinuing of using finasteride, etc... When I asked for repair HT, they offered me 2nd HT with 2500 grafts for 6.250,- eur. Only after Melvin's intervention did they write to me that I could come for a free touch up and lie again that they offered me free touch up before Melvin´s intervention, which is not true. Due to Asmed's dishonest behavior, I do not trust them and I chose one of the best surgeon in Spain for my repair HT. Also I saw many bad result of ASMED from last period, also from repair HT. But after HT at ASMED, my donor area is limited, almost exhausted, because ASMED solved my hairloss 3V (pic 2, 3) with huge number of grafts (4500)! and the result is very weak... Choosing this most expensive hair mill in Turkey was my worst decisions in whole my life...

2) Couto has a 2-3 year waiting list for surgery. So much he doesn't even need a website 

3) I had surgery with him. Go to his practice on a Saturday and see how many people are there. He is full of patients.

4) He does post cases every week in the Spanish forum. He not interested on this one.

5) You will regret cancelling. Nobody out there who is better.

Could I ask you to post some pre-op/post-op pics from your HT with Dr. Couto? Thanks. I also think that according his waiting list he doesn´t need any website. But it is interesting that it is almost impossible to find results posted by his patients...

According statement of Clinica de Freitas, all HT are performed by Dr. Rafael De Freitas...
