  1. After Transplant. Dr. Koray originally planned on filling the entire front and back with the 4000 grafts but the quality of my hair wasn't as great as he expected, so he focused on the front area. I had miniaturization in my donor hair. 2200 grafts in the hairline and the rest went evenly spaced behind it as needed. He hopes the vertex, which is also miniaturized, will fill in on its own with the Fin I started taking 2 weeks prior to surgery. Dr Koray assured me I would still have a very good result. I trust in Dr. Koray and I hope it turns out great.
  2. Hey guys, sorry its taken a few days to get these pics together. These are my photos from Asmed prior to the procedure.
  3. Here is around Day 12 on the right side and currently today, Day 34 on the left.
  4. 1 Month update. Hard to believe it's been a month since my HT. Shedding started around week 3. No one has noticed I've had a transplant. My biggest concern is my donor area. I started FIN 6 weeks ago. So it will be another 6 weeks til I will see any results. The hairloss had effected my donor area. Dr Koray did tell me this and showed me through pics where it had thinned out. I guess I never really noticed it. But he assured me that he believed the FIN would help to thicken up my donor area as well as the crown of my head. First two weeks was absolutely horrible to sleep. I had swelling the first week but that is gone now. I am starting to get pimples in the transplanted and donor area here and there. The redness is almost all gone. Just a thin line in the front hairline is still read. Here are some pics.
  5. I'm a few days away from my 1 month and the shedding has begun! Haha. I was able to hide my hairloss for a long time, which is why the shed is probably a little more demoralizing than most. In another 30 days everyone will know I have had significant hairloss. I have been losing hair for 20 years if you can believe that. I'm 32 years old. Started when I was 12. It just has been a slow loss, and I used to have a ton of hair. My donor area has been affected by it also but I didn't think it was this bad. I may have some shock loss going on as well. But I'm not sure. Dr Koray did know that my donor was thinning out as well. But hoped the proscar would bring it back. I guess only time will tell!
  6. I am feeling ok at the moment. I started shedding the transplanted hairs about 2-3 days ago. It's a bit demoralizing. I think everyone thinks that they are the one that will never shed haha. But it's started to happen for me. It's probably been a few hundred hairs total. I had 4000 transplanted. Also my donor area looks very thin. To the point I am concerned about it. I was told I had 8000 total hairs to be transplanted and they took 4000. So that leaves me with 4000. I just am not sure if I could really afford to take another 4000.
  7. You will be fine! Be sure to take allot of before pictures of the areas you are concerned about.
  8. Well I'm on day 23 and the shedding has begun. It's starting in my temples and I'm almost positive I'm going to have a full shed. It was going along so nicely haha.
  9. Looking good. I'm at day 22 right now. Crazy to think a month will be here soon. I'm definitely having some shedding but still unnoticeable to everyone.
  10. Awesome. They really put you through the ringer at the airport. I pretty much walked through customs and security. Just the normal scans and pat downs. They did ask why I was there and I told them the truth and they didnt really react, just said ok. And I was on my way. I'll be looking out for that update.
  11. Yea I was on minoxidil for a few years and stopped a month before my transplant. I'm really not sure if it helped or not. I think once your hair grows out, your crown will be fine. I'm starting to see a few hairs shed per day now. Maybe 6-8 hairs a day. Not looking forward to the next phase!
  12. My crown looks similar to yours. Dr Koray seemed to think that the finestrine would take care of the crown. Are you taking Fin? Did he talk to you about your crown?
  13. At day 12 I started using my old shampoo and washing normally. I was still very careful and didn't rub my head to hard and patted it down to dry with paper towel. I'm at day 18 now and have noticed a few hairs shed. When I wash I see maybe 6-8 hairs in my hands. It sucks but I'm sure I'm heading into the ugly duckling phase. Ugh! I was hoping to be one of the lucky ones that didn't have to go through it.
  14. Looks good! I'm currently 15-16 days post op from Asmed. It's a great facility. I had some pretty bad swelling from days 3-5. Nothing to worrying about. It goes away quickly and it's normal.
  15. Hello, it really depends on the doctor. They definitely will shave the donor hair area. But as far as the rest of the head goes, it's up to the doctor you see. Dr Koray shaves everyone's head. He only does FUE. I think he shaves them so he can put the Grafts in the best spots without having any problems. Creates a better result.
  16. That's awesome! No sides from the Fin. I started about 2 weeks before my HT. How's the transplanted hairs? Still have a good majority of them?
  17. Day 13. I had a few lingering scabs since day 9. Those are all gone. Not looking forward to the ugly duckling phase. I'm hoping I'm one of those rare people that don't shed the implanted hair. It's been about a month since I started Finestride and still have no side effects. Not sure if it has really been working but I'm hoping it will help thickin my existing hairs.
  18. Dr Koray with Asmed is a great doctor and runs a very clean professional clinic. I had 4000 Grafts done 11 days ago.
  19. 9 days after surgery and scab free. Honestly the scabs fell off relatively naturally. The rest I spent maybe 30min in the shower, slowly rubbing my head in a circular motion to remove. The donor area up until day 8 was very sore and throbbing at times. Never any pain in the recipient area. But today I have felt allot more relief. I would wake up in the middle of the night with pain in the donor and would have to take more pain meds. But now it's much more manageable. The recipient area is still quite numb. So far I'm very happy with my post op early result. Not looking forward to the ugly duckling phase in a few weeks. The head isn't that red but maybe has a slight pinkness to it. So most would never suspect a hair transplant.
  20. Day 5 update. Scabs are slowly coming off during and right after a shower. At day 7 I will really make an effort to be scab free by day 10. I still have allot of pain in the donor area but from what I have been told it's normal.
  21. I just had 4000 Grafts completed by Asmed 4 days ago. Do you have any pics of the top of your head and of your donor area? I was extremely worried about walking around with the cash on me as well. But it was literally not a problem at all. You are picked up inside the airport by the driver and walked out to the van. Then dropped off at the front door of the hotel, which is in a nice area of Istanbul and is a very nice hotel as well. I was worried about shaving my head and it turns out that it wasn't that big of deal at all. I actually like it shaved haha. But of course I like having my hair back more! I never felt unsafe at all during my whole trip. I made by deposit 3000 euros so I wouldn't have to walk around with as much cash. But honestly it wouldn't of mattered.
