While I agree that you are behind the curve and it's prudent to begin discussing your concerns with Dr. Harris, I would also urge you to not succumb to the doom-and-gloomers. Slow growth is real. I was a slow grower with my first transplant. You can see my 7 month results here. Thought the final results of my first HT were not what I'd hoped for, I saw significant growth from 8 to 10 months and beyond.

There is a reason why all clinics insist that patients wait at least 12 months and, despite what HLS2015 may believe, it is not to provide false hope and waste time.

This is an utterly false and malicious statement. Our public record (try using the search feature) clearly shows that we often work to facilitate communication between patents and physicians and address patient concerns. We are, first and foremost, patient advocates.

I think the work looks excellent and everything looks perfectly normal at this stage. The duration of the redness varies from patient to patient. I was pinkish for several months. Hang in there. I'm sure you'll be pleased with the outcome.

I should have added that you must be 18 before starting what is arguably the most effective hair loss drug, Propecia (finasteride). However, a physician may recommend Rogaine (minoxidil) which is available over the counter.

I must stress that you should not begin any medical treatment without consulting your parents and a physician.

Your pics are not the best but, as far as I can tell, your crown looks just fine. I can't really tell about your hairline. You're correct that you may just be establishing your mature hairline.

There is no medical treatment currently available that is effective for regrowing a receding hairline. However, with proper medical treatment, young patients with early hair loss stand a good chance of maintaining your existing hair for a very long time.

Since you are not yet 18, I recommend discussing your concerns with your parents and asking them if they will take you to consult with a hair restoration physician. Many provide free consultations (you can even consult online) and they will be able to assess your hair loss (if any) and formulate a long-term plan beginning with medical treatment.

Masturbation has no effect on hair loss.

Generally, I like to use products as directed. I used to apply Rogaine daily but I just found it inconvenient at night. I know I've read some reputable physicians state that once per day is nearly as effective.
