  1. N00b, thanks for the congrats. I just had a look at your thread. You need not worry about the scar. Yours looks good to me - probably better than mine did at the same stage. The cream was just antibiotic cream just to stop any infections. I used bio oil on the scar, from one month post op until around 6 months post op. Whether this had any effect on the scar or not, I don't know but it's cheap to buy and it wasn't going to have any adverse effects so I thought 'why not?'. Apart from that I was careful not to do anything strenuous and avoided lifting heavy things for a few months. I have my hair cut very short on the sides and back and you can't see the scar (as you can see from my photos). Also, try not to worry about the shock loss, I had the same thing, I noticed it even though my head was shaved most of the time for the first 3 months. It will grow back. Don't panic.

Thanks for the kind words cueball16

May I ask when the donor shock loss subsided for you?

  2. Hi Spidey,

You are right. I need to stop searching the net. I just wish I was informed about the worst case scenarios too by the clinic even though they are very rare.

You mentioned "You're pretty late in the healing anyways". I am confused what you are trying to communicate here. Can you please elaborate?

  3. Guys, I am freaking out right now whether I might get a keloid scar. Though I have no solid reason to believe that I might get one, googling the internet about scars have made me panic. I was not properly informed about the risks of the scars, especially keloid ones, by the clinic. If I had knew about it, i was have never ventured in a strip surgery.

Guys, please help me... Am about to have a panic attack

  4. Sorry n00b,

Iknow including hairs taken for whorl creation on day 4 close to 4000 hairs were taken from scalp. Rest all from beard.

All beard hairs are 1 hairs. Didn't keep the count of 1's,2's and 3's from scalp. Unfortunately didn't think about keeping this count at that time. Rest assured I did have sizeable number of 2's, 3's and even 4's per my doctor.

Thanks for the information harin. Can you someday share a post op beard with grown hairs, please?

  5. Pre-op pictures are with grown beard hairs, shaven pre-op looked pretty much the same as it looks now. posted in the albums. you can check out my profile and albums where in I have posted those pictures. thanks for your kind words of encouragement.

    Hi Harin,

Thank you for ur response and pointing me out to ur albums. I am curious to see how beard with grown hairs compare pre-op & post-op.

Also could you please share the number of grafts taken from your scalp, beard and any other regions? I read through your post multiple times but am still confused on where the grafts were taken from and the breakdown of hairs in those grafts (eg: x grafts have 1 hair, y grafts has 2 hairs, etc...)

    Thanks again :)
