    Regards,

  3. Yes, adding more density in a 'second pass' is a good strategy.

Yes, that is possible, but the ideal scenario is to achieve the density you wish in just one procedure, so you can also preserve grafts if your hair loss continues.

Density is a key factor, but probably hair calibre, average of hairs per FU and grafts distribution are more important from our point of view.

E.g. = patient 1 has a very thick hair, with good groups of grafts in terms of hairs/FU. Maybe he needs "only" a density of 40-50 grafts/cm2 on recipient to have a very good result. On the other hand, patient 2 has a very fine hair, and most of the grafts are 1-2s hairs. He may have a density of 60 on recipient, but due to his hair characteristics it looks thinner than patient 1.

  4. It is not always easy to asses by pictures since there are important data missing: hair calibre, average hairs per FU, donor density, etc.

But as said before, if you are considering a hair transplant short-mid term, maybe just focus on frontal area and being conservative. Crown may improve with the use of finasteride if your Doctor prescribes it.

Maybe something around 2500+ FU for frontal could help, but personally I'd give a try to finasteride also on that area: part of the existing hair is thinning, but with the use of medication it could improve as well, saving donor grafts.

You have to plan any hair transplant surgery thinking of the future.

    Regards,

  5. Mostly after that point it's a thickening of the individual transplanted hairs as they grow and mature for the next several months. This does gives the appearance of more hair, so it can look like new hair is still growing even if there's not actually any new hairs sprouting.

    BeHappy is right.

After 8-10 months it is not usual to see regrowth, but the new hair can mature in terms of calibre and volume up to 12-18 months, which helps to the final result in terms of density.

    Regards,

  6. Hi Jordan90,

As said, finasteride could be a good option in your case. You still have a decent amount of native hair but part of it seems thinning, so finasteride could help you. Try to visit some doctor in your area to asses it.

It is advisable to use it at least 6-12 months to see the possible results.

On the other hand, if you decide to have a hair transplant procedure, I think it would be in your best interest to be conservative in the approach. You are still young (less than 30), and your potential baldness is not small, affecting nowadays to frontal and crown.

So you have to think mid-long term and manage your donor capacity properly.

    Best regards,

  7. Hi ffar1989,

From pictures there seems to be some thinning on the area, but at the same time you have a very decent amount of native hair.

As you have been advised, a personal appointment with one or more doctors could be a good idea so you can get a more detailed assessment.

As a 1st impression, maybe a hair surgery is still not the option. As said above, you still have native hair and a surgery could maybe create some permanent shockloss so you can ended up as before the procedure.

You use Nizoral and some complements, but neither finasteride nor minoxidil, right? Maybe you could try Rogaine + Saw Palmetto instead of finasteride. Nevertheless the best advice is to see a dermathologist in your area and see the exact situation nowadays.

    Best wishes,

    Dr. Christian BISANGA

    Age: 25 approx.

    Technique: Plugs removal

This young patient had a small strip procedure in another clinic to cover his temples. As a result, he ended up with very visible plugs and damaged skin.

In order to return go back to normality he wanted to remove those grafts.

The plan was to do it in one procedure, but when he arrived to the clinic, one of the temples was affected by severe folliculitis. Thus Dr. Bisanga decided to work in just one of the temples and gave medical treatment for the other one, which was treated a few months after.

Here you can see the pictures of the process:

  9. Hi Mfive39,

If you have the chance, try to have a personal appointment with several doctors, ideally those ones who use FUE + FUT (and maybe Body Hair as well).

A personal assessment will tell you the approx. capacity of your donor area with the different techniques. Based on that you could know if your expectations can be accomplished.

The first impression based on your pictures is that the combination of FUE + FUT is probably the option which will maximize your donor follicles, thus you could cover a bigger area (not sure if 100% of it to be honest), but usually on crowns the main goal is to get some coverage with a lower density.

Could you share some sides pictures also?

    Best wishes,

  10. Hi Radiss0n,

As you have been already told, that's probably part of the shedding process after a procedure. That can start after 7 days and last up to 1 month approx. I would not worry about it.

Regarding the use of concealers, it would be better if you contact your doctor. It is one of the issues where you can find different protocols depending on each clinic.

Best wishes with your surgery :),

    BHR Clinic

    Dr. Christian BISANGA

    Age: 29

    Technique: FUE

    Medication: No

    Donor density: 80-70-40 FUs/cm2 (63 average)

    Hair calibre: Medium

    Previous surgeries: Yes

    Total FU: 2.691

    * FU breakdown:-

    1s 580

    2s 1443

    3s 647

    4s 21

    That means 2.691 FU = 5.491 Hairs. Average = 2,04 hairs/FU.

This patient had his procedure with Dr. Bisanga and BHR Clinic team one year ago approx. The patient had a previous FUE procedure (1800-2000 grafts approx.) on another clinic, but he did not reached the expected yield. As a consequence, donor density decreased up to 40 FU/cm2 in some areas, which drastically reduced overall donor capacity.

The goal with this procedure was to rebuild frontal 1/3 and hairline, connecting with humps.

If the patient wishes to increase coverage on 2nd half, he would probably have to combine FUE + BH.

The images of the result were sent by the patient himself.
