    Hi All

Hope everyone is safe and well out there ..I’m just past the 10 months mark at this stage .

Got a barber cut 2 weeks ago where he cut it way to short as they tend to do 😊..chopped me down real good ..

I feel If anything there has been a slight disimprovement along the side part from crown to mid scalp ..just wondering might it be a seasonal shed or perhaps hairs taken from above my ear or nape of neck have actually lost the battle with DHT as I had retrograde alopecia going into the HT..or perhaps it’s stress related as it’s been one sure Annus horribilís my side .

On a positive the Donor appears to have bounced back great ..

Started using Alpecin caffeine shampoo to try and help thicken things up

    I’ll keep you all posted

Remember the anagen synchronization we discussed in the beginning of this thread.

Sorry guys, I am a bit new here so maybe a bit agressive so my apologies. But do you understand that taking finasteride you effectively and voluntarily make yourselves impotents? Do you understand that there are no such thing as 'DHT-resistant' follicules and that you will have to take Fin as long as you want your new hair stay, which means that you will have to take it for tens of years? Do you realise that decreased libido is the same as erectile dysfunction and both of them is the same as impotence? Do you understand that the numbers of men with some sort of sexual dysfunction in the corresponding articles are based on self-report and clearly understated?

Having a full head of hair is definitely make you much more beautiful and sexy but what's the point of being sexy if you can't enjoy sex?

    Good vibes to everyone.

What's the use of not taking finastride, getting bald and have sex with ugly woman.

Even I am not a big fan of Minoxidil. Everything about its application, routine and the results: seem so unimportant. I know that it can be helpful but I'm not at all a big fan of it. Plus when you leave Minoxidil, the withdrawel effects include losing all the hair grown due to it.

I believe euginix requires patients to come off minoxidil atleast a month before. I feel if the patient stops minoxidil later after transplant and be on just finastride as advised by euginix , he can end in a disaster. His hair transplant would look like transplanted hair and gaps in between due to leaving minoxidil and losing gains.

Can you shed light on this?

I don't know who your 'they' are, but I have had procedures and taken topical minoxidil and currently take the oral version of it. My procedure instructions were 7-10 days before and 5 days after stop meds and vitamins that could effect bleeding. Since minoxidil enlarges your blood vessels that means more blood flowing, more potential bleeding during the procedure and in the days after the procedure that could damage the grafts.

Think what would happen if u leave minoxidil specially if you had transplant done with existing hair. All of a sudden , the dependent hair would fall should you leave minoxidil 3 months before and what would your hair look like immediately. It would require another transplant otherwise it would start looking horrible.to avoid that it's better to leave minoxidil and shed hair and get transplanted hair into place. And doing that brings .e to the point I raised initially, what's the use we have to shed it anyway.

  5. 2 minutes ago, ciaus said:

Minoxidil dilates the blood vessels in your scalp increasing blood flow to your hair follicles, more nutrients delivered by blood is probably what helps to thicken up the hairs, and an enzyme effect that increases hair growth cycles so that more hairs are growing at the same time also helps to give you a fuller head of hair look.

Docs generally say to stop 7-10 days before the procedure and you can restart about 5 days after. You may have a temporary shed but the result is not permanent, you are not 'losing' your overall results.

Its not like if you stop Finasteride for even days, which causes your DHT levels to go back up increasing the attacks and actual damage to your hair follicles.

No they advice to stop it three months before procedure. They need to make sure that you dont end in a disastrous result should you stop or the minoxidil stops working, after transplant. Please someone correct me if I am wrong .people who were applying it for years and had hair transplants can give suggestions here.

UPDATE: It is a little over 7 months now since my surgery date and going with Dr. Bicer was one of the best decisions I have made in my life and that is no exaggeration. I am constantly receiving compliments on how my hair looks so full and natural. Even my barber, who constantly deals with questions about HT and balding in our community, has said that my transplant was the best that he's ever seen and that he'd like to refer people interested in HTs to me to see where I went. I have struggled with thinning hair and balding since I was 17 which led to body image issues and low self confidence in a lot of aspects of my life. After this surgery,  I finally feel like my age again, with confidence I haven't felt in years.

As a side point for anyone interested, I was turned down by many clinics for not having a strong donor area (heartbreaking at the time). When I went with Dr. Bicer, she strategized that I load up the front and middle of my scalp with grafts as I'm a tall guy so I would have natural looking hair from the front and nobody could see my balding crown in the back. Evening out the graft from my hairline to crown would lead to thin, unnatural looking hair because of the previously mentioned weak donor area. So while the front view of my hair would look great the crown was left untouched and balding due to my weak donor area. To fix this, a month after the surgery I started taking 1 mg of finasteride and minoxidil foam. They have definitely made a significant improvement in the density of hair in my crown. Now, my crown looks much more natural and there is not a huge disparity between my newly hair transplanted hair and the crown hairs.

If you are on the fence about getting a hair transplant and nervous if you can trust the doctor and their work, please consider going with Dr. Bicer as she has transformed my life positively through her work. If anyone has any questions please don't hesitate to ask. Below, I will post the pictures I have taken each month after my Hair Transplant. Unfortunately, I missed taking photos during a couple significant growth months in April and May.

You should have gone to euginix ,they are providing complete coverage for high Norwood an good density.

  7. I know many here who don't want to take meds and are relying solely on transplants but how guaranteed are they? What is the percentage of happy patients? And how likely it is that the hair might not grow ? Is it true that it is a highly successful outcome? The idea that the hair transplant fails and the rest of the life has to be spent being bald is scary , I mean there is nothing that can be done if donor is wasted once.its  a huge fear to leave everything on a transplant.

Dr Arika said I had 2000 scalp grafts left in the bank ...IF i go again i think I’ll aim for 2000 scalp 1000 beard kinda thing ...hit that magic 10,000 grafts GIGA count 😊

If it's possible , I would enhance the front to increase the density from 40 to 60 with 2000 grafts and use 1000 beard in the crown to increase density there and may be use toppik.

    Hi All

8 months today and it’s been the most stressful month of my life so can’t have helped things HT wise ..but life goes on ..

I’ve attached mix of indoor /outdoor pics for comparison.

To answer @NAVI HTs are all about expectations and starting points..my resulte so far might seem mediocre to your average NW 2 to 5 but i can tell you as a NW 6/7 there are days I feel like I’ve won the lottery re how things are turning out ..especially so as i was deemed unsuitable candidate in the past ..

My área of concern is mid scalp density /thickness so I’m hopeing I’ll have improvements right up to the 12 Month Mark ..also happy to report new “pops “in hairline and crown area last couple of days

two things about finasteride ..it definitely is helping my donor become more robust and recover well and has darkened my hair ...and also maybe someone one here can clarify does using Finasteride negate the benefits of using beard to scalp grafts ..ie Fin miniaturizes beard hair ??..I picked up on this somewhere on fórum ..I asked Eugenix to clarify no word back yet .

    Any feedback most welcome

Why did not you start finastride earlier in life? I was relying on transplants only but now seeing your result, it seems transplant by itself can't give a thick look and expectations should be kept low when it comes to managing hair by transplant only. However due to a chronic illness, I have deferred taking finastride until now.

And you are saying that your bald area was large . I believe irespective of the area, euginix is able to achieve 40 grafts /cm density.they are using beard hair to achieve that and have done 13000 grafts hair transplant also in some cases to do the same. So if the density in your case was 40 at least,  then the argument that the area was large to begin with is not quite appropriate.

It's funny that there are people who would say I won't mind losing hair , they trim their hair go on like that. and finally when they get to Norwood 6 category, they start to feel bad about their looks and start wearing hats and probably take antidepressants. On the other side , some will say looks don't matter for their partner, they see the nature and  character in relationship and these are the very people who reject ugly girls.

Please admit looks matter for human beings and there is no shame in that .that's how we are wired. Hair is a big feature of a face and it does matter and you know why because nothing ages you more than a bald head. And don't give examples of jasom stathom and Bruce Willis. It's money which helps them not their hair.

I know people will bash me here for this but imo what I am saying is truth to some extent atleast.no offence to anyone.

True sir. I am taking Finasteride 1 mg everyday. I did not take Finasteride earlier because I was worried of its side effects. (As it is I am already feminine; didn't want to enhance that part of my personality). But later, it turned out to be completely safe. At least for me. I didn't feel any side effects.

As for the patients who are prescribed Finasteride, there are some who are completely against it and will not take the medication. We have very few reported cases of side effects. Maybe 1% people report feeling a decrease in sperm count or decreased libido. But the rest of the patients do not report any side effects at all.

We also stop Finasteride at least for two months prior, for patients who want to conceive a child because Finasteride is avoided for pregnant women.

Actually I am a resident of gurgaon and met dr Bansal in 2016,when she advised me .5 mg finastride only since I had mild crown thinning.i did not take it and unfortunately now even my front has thinned and crown is gone pretty much. I have a chronic pain disorder but it is still undiagnosed. Doctors think it is anxiety and you know people with anxiety already have altered brain chemistry.since I am an unhealthy individual, to take a drug like finastride might mess my brain chemistry in unknown ways and may increase my problem ,hence I have avoided.Do you know people with migraine and anxiety using it?

I might come to euginix again to clear this and may be get on finastride now if possible. Are people able to have transplant without finastride?Considering that euginix is producing good results and I have untouched donor, it seems I might just play catch up game with transplants.my age is 31.

My HTs definitely made me feel more confident which helped my dating life and for sure helped me professionally.  More importantly, I like what I see staring back now when I look in the mirror.   In a way though, I feel like I took the easy way out as looks are definitely not anywhere near as important as personality.  I have bald friends who are amazingly confident and ass kickers in life.

I still find it difficult to believe anyone with a bald disfigure face can feel confident and that would show up in their personalities too

I think this is a good thread topic. I'm interested in hearing from forum members if their HT boosted their confidence. When I did SMP over 5 years ago, I was certain that it would turn a corner for my confidence but it didn't. It looked unnatural and made me hide my scalp more than before.

Smp is just an indication that you have hair on top, that's it. It is only slightly better than bald but no way near having hair. Little wonder it is disappointing.

  14. 11 hours ago, Gabreille Nelson Mukhia said:

True. He must have a major percentage of the grafts grown. However, his hair are in different stages of growth. Not all hair are fully grown or achieved full thickness. For all the factors like hair caliber, anagen growth, length etc. usually synchronize by the 12th to 14th month. Sometimes patients are overwhelmed by the density by then. And thats when the Anagen desynhronization phase onsets and the hair cycle takes its course.

I did lose density but only on the 19th month because I was a late grower. But the good hair days and bad hair days are a norm. Somedays I find my hair very thick and some time after, its a little thinner.

I believe u are taking finastride also.was there any reason u delayed finastride for so long? I have delayed it for 8 years now and pretty much diffuse Norwood 6.how has been Ur experience with finastride and that of eugenix prescribed finastride patients?Does it really cause side effects rarely?

  15. How has ht affected your confidence? Do you feel as good with it as you use to once about your looks or is it just better than having no hair? I am just trying to figure out how good do people in general feel about transplants. Just wanted to know how much mental happiness can it provide and is it it even worth.if you feel 10/10 earlier ,how you feel now about Ur looks after a ht?

  16. 4 hours ago, Gabreille Nelson Mukhia said:

He has not achieved his full results.

He has a lesser density right now and its completely normal because thats how it gradually grows.

How do we know that hes yet to grow 30% or 40% or 50% hair? Can we confirm how much percentage of hair hes lost? And by what measure will we confirm the same? We can't. Its a phenomenon we can predict and assume.

30% of hair is shed off in the anagen desynchronisation phase. 30% of the full growth. Lets wait for his full growth to judge how it looks when he loses 30% out of 100%. Judging right now will not help with aasuming the final density.

And how can anyone in the world confirm that the person will lose exactly 10 hair from a sqcm and be left with 30 hair per sqcm when the anagen desynchronisation phase sets in! It is a subjective assumption generalised to an average.

Its subjective and he could shed 20% or even 40%.

Will those hair grow back? Yes. There will be some months when he will feel te density is more than his expectation amd sometimes very thin.

Before we judge his results, please at least wait for the full density to come.

I got my full density by the 14th month. I know from personal experience that it is downright anxiety triggering when the growth is delayed or even during the months when the full density hasn't yet arrived.

Actually somewhere he told that dr Sethi has told him that he can expect 1000 more grafts to grow from here. So 6000 grafts out of 7000 are already there, which means around 85 percent growth is already there. So I took that number from what de sethi told. So it's right that he has about 15 percent growth(approx 1000 grafts) to come but I am not sure if dr Sethi also mentioned the 20 to 40 percent grafts loss ,due to anagen desynchronisation, following the 15 percent growth. So the 15 percent growth kind of gets counter balanced by 20 percent(conservative estimate) grafts loss later. Correct me if I am wrong here.

And can you please tell how much density you lost after full growth?it is something that is not being shared on these forums frequently.Doctors are posting full growth results without mentioning anagen desynchronisation loss later. In that regard, I appreciate that euginix has brought this up.

the reality is that the OP looks exponentially better with a framed face and good coverage that is very age appropriate. It’s shaved many years off his appearance. But most importantly, he’s happy with the results, and rightfully so.

to the posters that are yelling “but density!”: this is the reality of hair transplants. I’d place this result up very high especially given the patients starting point. To any norwood 6 that doesn’t think this is a good result, I highly recommend you stay away from HTs and find another solution.

Obviously ,it has made a lot of difference but still everyone here needs to understand what can be accomplised with hair transplants at best and have realistic expectations consequently.

  18. 15 hours ago, Gabreille Nelson Mukhia said:

    1. No I did not mean that his results will be 30% lesser than it is now.

    2. I was correcting you because you said the hair loss during the anagen desynchronisation is 10%. It is not. It is 30%.

    3. For the patient, his full results haven't even come yet. He is still on the way to reach his full density. So to judge his results would not only be highly inappropriate but also very discouraging for the patient himself.

    4. After he reaches the 12th month, he will have an increase in density but will also enter the anagen desynchronisation phase. He will lose 30% hair to it.

    5. Can I tell him the exact time of his full density and when he will enter the Anagen desynchronisation phase? No. I cannot. I can predict but not confirm as the time duration is very subjective from person to person.

    7. And lastly, the most important piece of information that needs to be declared:

He will never have tje density he might have had before baldness. His hair will look thinner in volume and density, regardless of lighting. He will also have good hair days when the growth is of a higher percentage of hair (anagen synchronisation) and bad hair days when his hair are mostly in the telogen phase. Why? because this is only 40 hair per sqcm and not 100 hair per sqcm.

Everyone seeing his hair should realise that if they do go for the transplantation procedure, this is the kind of density that will be achieved. And in 12 to 14 months, we will get a clearer picture.

You are saying he will lose 30 percent hair to anagen desynchronusation. So, this means that the density will be reduced by 30 percent ,right? So instead of 40 ,the final density would be 30(because of a 30 percent reduction=10 grafts/cm)and that would be the permanent result, right? I am assuming that the anagen

desynchronisation phase is permanent,Is not it? And if that's the case ,then he will have about 30 as the final density and not 40 as you have stated above. And as of now he might be at about 30 only. So this might be pretty much the final result after anagen desynchronisation. The confusion still remains , please try to understand what I am asking.

  19. If people could consider how much difference a good looking hair transplant can make, they won't question the price. Think of all the new opportunities in terms of financial gains and self confidence with a good transplant. You will make much more financial gains simply on account of your looks. Yes looks do matter, good looking people are paid higher. So that can recover a lot of money for you. Please understand it is Ur face, the first impression on people, so you would rather not buy an expensive car and spend more on hair. I can't stress enough the importance of looks.

  20. 10 hours ago, Gabreille Nelson Mukhia said:

Its 30% actually the anagen desynchronisation phase. However, it is not definite that everyone has to have it on the 12th month. It varies from person to person with regards to its time of onset.

What? Do you mean final density would be 30 percent lesser? Can you please elaborate this issue?does this mean that zoomster final result will be  net 10 20 percent lesser than where he is now?

Point is   all the male members on my family pretty much kept their hair apart form my father and me   , ha I would have been really pissed off if  my father had a full head of hair   and I lost mine ,that's just insult to injury  .
