Man I really am thankful for all of the uplift this community has provided me!

I have heard that AA type of hair was indeed difficult to work with but maybe because I am half Mexican my hair was somewhat easier to deal with?

Regarding my donor area, I absolutely love it! I cannot see any scarring at all, which is such a relief. And you are right, the pink recipient area is non detectable to others. I no longer stress going out in public without a hat :)

Thanks for the comment and the Asmed team!

Hope everything turns out the way you want. Fue has gone a long way. I remember just a few years back most doctors wouldn't do fue on AA hair, only fut

  2. African american type of hair is apparently extremely difficult for HTs but the work on you was pristine. And bc your hair is naturally curly is really hides the donor area very well. On top of that being darker complexion makes the ugly duckling phase not as noticeable as you don't really see the pink in the recipient area.

    Looks good!!

  3. Looks good and only those who know about fue and are looking for it can tell something may have been done.  I find that the larger scale fue procedures make it harder to see as it's scattered throughout the donor area and looks more uniform. Whereas with a smaller procedure the dots are more spread out and easier to pick out.

I have to say though that the shortest part of your hair looks like a #1 and not 1/2 guard.

@asterix0 I stopped minoxidil ahead of the surgery as directed by H&W. They also tell you not to take it post-op. Just following the explicit doctors orders there...

Re: fin, I take a smaller than 1mg approach EOD. It seems to have quelled most shedding, and I can tolerate it, so that's what I'm comfortable with at the moment.

Errr. Yes they tell you to stop taking it prior to surgery and x amount of days after, but you're allowed to resume. So if you stopped taking minox completely, then chances are the transplanted hairs more or less replaced quite a bit of native hairs your lost from stopping minox....

    UPDATE (8/17/20):

    • I just booked an appointment with Dr. Hasson for January. I could have done November, but we do not know if the Canadian border will be open at that point in time. I have decided to listen to everyone's cautionary tales on these forums and go with a more ethical and meticulous doctor
    • I will be fighting for my deposit as I booked on the precedent that Diep's work is of industry standard, but they are definitely not when looking at new patients
    • I also talked to Dr. Konior but he was just a bit too pricey for me. He wanted 25k for roughly 3500 grafts FUT, ouch. Great doctor but too expensive.
    • Will post a full journey in January

Excellent choice.  Pretty sure hw and Dr diep charge the same too, and the results aren't really comparable imo.

I've noticed after styling my hair with American Crew Fiber (thick paste that really helps thicken up my hair) that I count ~10 or so strands of hair in my hand daily.

I know the typical response is "you lose hair every day" and there isn't  sure method for proving if it is really loss or not.

Just wanted to throw it out there to compare experiences. I'm a NW 4 and have been on the mighty Fin for 3 years and haven't seen any major receding (yes, I measure it from my brow ridge occasionally), so I would opt that is just the natural hair lifecycle - but then again, cognitive dissonance is a b**ch.

Any advice or thoughts are welcome.

I noticed this too when u used to use it years ago. I've moved on to a shine pomade like reuzel though as I style my hair's different now

I'm sorry but none of these but the first case look "natural"

I can spot these cases from 100 feet away and know that they have been inked

They don't look bad but they certainly don't look natural at all. Hairlines are to regular except the first case where I would have a hard time telling.

Only half of those look good. The other half look meh or even bad. The biggest give away are ones with the perfect hairline that's too symmetrical and too dense. This place is by far the best I've seen in SMP,

It’s crazy how H&W have transformed into one of the industry’s elite FUE clinics. I’m really glad to see this transition, as it’s good to have surgeons that do both.

Ya. I remember when I was pretty much one of the first documented on this site. Quite a lot of pessimistic people at the time. I had all the confidence in HW even if FUE wasn't necessarily known as their forte at the time.

  9. I always knew he used quite a bit of concealer. You can tell bc there were a disproportionate amount of actual hair strands (very few) when's styles vs how dense and dark the scalp looked.  Hes how old now?  Probably doesn't even really care anymore if he's going out in public like that.  Of course, the lighting is horrible and it probably doesn't look half as bad in real life.

hahaha you lucky fella... awesome bro.

Just realized u meant hasson OVER Wong. Not hasson and Wong. I was actually assigned to hasson by default. I didn't choose. But I don't care who I had, but looking back I'm glad I got hasson bc I like his hairline shapes better. So it worked out.

Great result. Spidey why haven't you tried finastiride?

I'm a strong believer that it's not good for you regardless of whether you show obvious side effects. I'm not a fan of anything that messes with hormones. My hair loss is slow enough for me not to be too concerned. I may opt for one more procedure as a touch up but that would probably be the extent of it. If by the time I'm in my 40s and my hairloss progresses even further, I'll just accept it and carry on with my life.
