  1. I agree the patient has many options to look into and if FUE is what he has decided on and he has been informed of the pros and cons, but what if the doctor just wants to do a do a great job and he feels HT will be the best for the patient . If a doctor feels FUE is wrong for the patient even if the patient is dead set on having one wouldn't that show you that your doctor just wants what he thinks is best for the patient and not just seeing dollar signs. To me it shows the doctor has the right to tell the patient what procedure he would think is best it's always up to the patient when it comes down to it. Why wouldn't all doctors recommend FUE they sure would make a lot more money if they weren't concerned about the outcome in a year when the patient comes back with his final results
  2. I disagree I'm sure plenty of people had FUE and were not happy with it and went to a strip HT for more density and correction.
  3. Great response I couldn't agree more
  4. I don't know of any doctors who went to college for HT surgery so to discredit Dr. Feller is just wrong.
  5. Dr. Feller has been in this field doing both Fue and Strip for years I think he knows what he's talking about from the thousands of cases he must have under his belt. I think he's honest and offers his patients the best options if he told me Strip was best for me then I would think he would have my best interest in mind for now and down the road
  6. I guess it comes down to what you care about what you look like now in your younger years vs when you get older. I personally would rather look great now while I can still enjoy myself who knows what the future brings and so what if I can't shave my head I will just wear it longer or date an older woman with bad eye sight
  7. It sounds to me if you have thick hair on the sides and back that you probably could have a hair transplant .You could first go to a dermatologist get some advise if you don't want to go the HT route. If you decide to have an HT then I would consult doctors suggested by the forum on the top ten list ,view their videos do your home work you want to go to someone that's good especially because you are a young guy and you want a doctor that will have a plan for you now and down the road in case of future hair loss. Check all before and after pictures compare your hair loss to the pictures of people with similar hair loss and hair characteristics . Also take into consideration if you want to travel to have your HT done. By the way my hairs are every but on my head I'm constantly finding my hair everywhere it's just enough to constantly remind you that it's going I find it a bit depressing myself.
  8. I still believe there is less transection in the strip method there is no yanking or pulling out the grafts . The strips are cut into grafts by technicians who have more tissue to work with while preparing the correct graft size and microscopes to ensure less damage to the follicles and tissue protecting the integrity of each and every graft. Making the grafts with an FUE punch isn't that like going in kind of blind you can't see whats going on under the skin and I guess you have to pull them out individually trimming a graft to perfection by the techs seems to be a better the best choice for less trauma and healthier grafts in the strip method. For small touch up though I think FUE is a good choice but for a large area I would go with strip . I also think its better to preserve your donor area for further HT's down the road if you can get another full solid strip rather than one who has had a lot of grafts removed during a mega FUE session. But if you have faith in your FUE doctor and he can produce the same or better results then by all means go with what you know and how confident you are with your doctor and your decision,
  9. No one knows what happened to this poor guy everyone is just speculating. Let's wait an see what his own physician comes up with. There are a lot of unanswered questions from the patient. I watched the video and got some good advise about the nerve physiology in the back and side. I suffer from nerve pain in my head and it shed some light. I hope this guy has a happy outcome and his doctor can help him. I hope he let's us know the outcome
  10. Wow I hope things turn out OK for this guy the sooner he gets seen the better . How is his hair in the recipient area I wonder? I have never heard of something like this but I am quite familiar with nerve pain in the scalp and it is truly horrible. I wish him all the best . Also thanks Dr. Feller for pointing out the reasons why this could happen it helps explain some of my own nerve pain. But besides the pain I would be in great despair if it also included donor hair loss. I hope everything turns out well for him.
  11. I agree you must want it for yourself for whatever reason only you know how you feel and the things you battle with when looking in the mirror I think it's terrible to have to hide your procedure from anyone . You don't have to hide when you paint your house or get a new car you just want to improve your quality of life . I think it's terrible that we are afraid to admit to any cosmetic procedures for fear of back lash . I say it's your life and you have to be happy if you chose the right partner or spouse in life then they should be supportive and happy with you feeling better about yourself
  12. Most of all I want to keep a nice style to my hair . Will I want a buzz cut when I'm in my 60's I can't answer that . I don't have a face for the buzz or bald look that's why I want my hair back. Some guys look great with a buzz some even look good bald I'm not one of them. I want to thank you for the advise though it's always good to hear other people's experience and consider what they say .
  13. tough crowd out there. I thought this would be enjoyable but you keep giving me negative feedback . I don't see anyone else getting constantly attacked fortunately some people appreciate my advise . I have nothing to prove to you. Why aren't you attacking anyone else who promotes certain procedures or certain doctors . I don't feel the advise I'm giving is without knowledge . I don't know as much as most as I suppose you do so if I'm wrong about something I have no problem with someone shedding new light on what I was told and believe to be true I am open to any good advise.
  14. I appreciate your import I'll have to look further into it. Why I say I don't think the scar will bother me is because I'm not a buzz cut kind of guy I would like to keep my hair long enough to cover the scar
  15. I just like to give advise that has helped me . Why do people still participate even after they are satisfied with their H/T it's because they want to share their knowledge. I have already been seen in person by professional HT docs why do I need to share my photos with people who are not qualified as to what procedure or what doctor I should go to when I have already made my choice but I'm always up to learn more and experiences that people have had with other doctors . I also have to consider the location of the doctor I choose I'm not about globe trotting to find the best doctor when I believe I have found one of the best an hour drive away from my home . I took a lot of factors into consideration
  16. Ill take your advise but the knowledge I've obtained is by reading and I have met a lot of people in my 10 years of looking into a transplant I wasn't that into it that much at first because my hair seemed to fall out a little not really enough to concern me so I started asking around I figured my hair loss wasn't so bad so I procrastinated and waited to do a HT then it seemed like all of a sudden it was gone and even my donor area got thinner . I have a lot of friends in my age group that have been to different doctors and a lot of times I went with them so I've had a lot of discussions with people and doctors for the past 10 years so I've been weighing the pros and cons of what I have seen with my own eyes and heard with my own ears plus literature I have read. Fortunately I have friends that are up front with me and are not opposed to me joining them on consults with different doctors and most doctors don't mind me joining the consult because they know I'm in need for hair restoration myself. I can't say I'm a expert on the subject but what I believe to be true in my opinion I'd like to share . I research before I talk off the top of my head if I make a wrong statement because of lack of complete knowledge I don't mind being being corrected . I just want to give advise to things I've witnessed ,heard and believe to be true.
  17. I feel that you might consider doing a strip method this way they may have enough grafts to do both areas .You will have enough to fix the hairline and possibly some for the crown depending on your donor yield
  18. I am new and I'm investigating all the new options . The knowledge I have obtained is through talking to many doctors and people who have had different procedures . I don't have a fortune to spend so I'm checking things out for myself . Do you question all new members like this it's very discouraging when you are just trying to get involved and someone is accusing you of being whatever the heck you called me . I guess you only want your opinions posted and no new members this is a big turn off and I don't have to answer to you freedom of speech pal
  19. Even if you believe it's true wouldn't you rather be informed of what your doctor thinks once looking at you that he does have the right to tell the patient honestly how he feels pertaining to this person's particular case then to just go ahead and do an FUE that could possibly not benefit him . I would like my doctor to give me the best options once he saw me in person even if I was dead set on FUE in the long run it's the patients decision. I'm sure a lot of these people come from all over the world and the doctors just go by pictures that were sent on line what if it's a different story when you see the person face to face and really examine what he really has to work with . I don't see any railroading here just the doctor giving his honest opinion on whats the best method to do to give the the patent what he or she is really hoping to achieve with his final results. Why shouldn't the patient be informed there is no harm in it.
  20. I must say I firmly believe the yield and the quality of the grafts is better in strip vs FUE. I think FUE would be great for a scar fill in or a small area but for more coverage I would choose strip I'm not concerned with the donor scar from strip I can always cover it up with an MFUE or standard FUE down the road if the scar really bothers me
  21. Just an opinion but I would reconsider another strip surgery . FUE can produce less yield and do damage to the grafts. Just choose wisely from the suggested top surgeon list get more bang for the bucks
  22. How is the body hair extracted ? Is it done like an FUE ?
